Mines and Attributing TK's

This has been a huge bother for awhile. As an engineer I like to lay mines for the enemy but even though I warn my teammates via text and even verbally after placing "each" mine, a few minutes later some careless driver on my team runs over them and I get blamed for a teamkill. Back in the day in (Project Reality) the friendly mines icon would disappear or bug out but that issue has seemed fixed for a long time in Squad.
It's understood that an engineer laying mines within 1 or 2 few squares of main should be charged with TK's but everywhere else this should be blamed on the driver of the vehicle in my opinion.
Just wondering what others thoughts are about this. TK's are the last thing i ever want to happen when I play this game, I'd think it should be up to drivers to CHECK THE MAP for Mines at all times and they should be blamed with the TK(s) for their failure to do so.

I think the TK should be attributed to the engineer.
However, the server logs should show what was used in a TK. Most server admins understand that mines, artillery, mortars and the like are a more forgivable TK.
This is where the ability to forgive/punish a teamkill would go a long way towards helping with this issue. Of course, that only really helps when that one careless driver goes boom, not really when SL 3 and his whole squad "find the mine". Luckily, like was said above, most admins get what happened and are more than willing to work with you. Though, that doesn't make it any less annoying when it happens. . .
That said, at least from my experience, where some of these engineers put their mines doesn't help the situation. Most of the places that are mined make absolutely zero sense. The number of times that I have seen a combat engineer in my squad start putting mines down near one of your own back caps is crazy. If this is happening often, I'd recommend that you start looking at placing your mines further behind enemy lines. Friendly players not looking at their maps will always be a constant so it would be a decent idea to keep that in mind.
Hmm interesting idea, a good middle ground could be a vehicle based thing, if you take out a vehicle with a mine, it should only count as 1 TK, which is the vehicle. (TK, Driver) This way the player doesn't get hammered by auto ban.
