Multiplayer campaign mode in Squad - Every action counts!

MULTIPLAYER CAMPAIGN MODE - SQUAD

(inspired from Red orchestra 2 and Rising Storm 2 multiplayer campaigns)

THE OBJECTIVE

  • - 2 factions try to achieve victory by either conquering 10 territories (winning rounds), or depleting the enemy manpower (killing infantry).
  • - Starting manpower is 3000, but can be increased by owning territories, to also compensate losses. +30MP for each territory owned at the end of a battle.
  • - Each death is 1 Manpower lost.
  • - When a team wins a round, that team chooses the gamemode of the next battle.

AVALIABLE GAMEMODES AND THEIR EFFECTS...

  • - Invasion attack = If won: +1 territory. -1 enemy territory.
  • If lost: -100 MP lost. (additional).

  • - Invasion defend = If won: +100 MP gained. (minus the MP lost)
  • If lost: -1 territory. +1 enemy territory.


  • -AAS/RAAS = If won: +1 territory.
  • If lost: +1 enemy territory.

CAMPAIGN LENGHT...

Can be set by the server settings that is hosting the gamemode...


Short = 3.000 MP (6.000 MAX), 10 territory win condition.

Normal = 5.000 MP (10.000 MAX), 20 territory win condition.

Large = 10.000 MP (unlimited max), 30 territory win condition.

MOMENTUM MECHANIC....

Multiplayer campaigns in Squad would be able to last hundreds of battles before ending. A momentum mechanic can be created if the campaign drags on for too much.

HIGH MORALE (until the 20th battle): No MP penalty.

MEDIUM MORALE (until the 50th battle): -15 MP to total gain of each territory owned, +15 total.

LOW MORALE (until 70th battle): No MP gain for owning territory.

DEPLETED MORALE (until 100th battle): -100MP at round end.

NEGATIVE MORALE (until campaign end): -300 MP at round end.

MULTIPLAYER CAMPAIGN END

At the end of the multiplayer campaign in Squad, a victory end screen would be shown for a minute, where the following would appear...

  • - "X" faction won against "Y" faction.
  • - The winning condition (Territorial or Manpower depletion)
  • - Stats of each faction (casualities, kills, battles won, battles lost, tickets lost, assets lost).
  • - Top 10 players that contributed most to a faction, based on kills.
  • - How many unique players contributed to the outcome of the campaign + How many hours it lasted.

Why would a multiplayer campaign like Red orchestra 2 or Rising Storm 2 be good in Squad?


  • - Very competitive and immersive. Every action would count towards a "bigger goal".
  • - Multiplayer campaign servers get more attention than normal servers, according to Ro2 and Rs2.
