Stealing vehicles.

3S_Moe3S_Moe Member Posts: 154 ★★

It would be an interesting dynamic to the game if the opposing force could steal your vehicle. Perhaps it would help prevent vehicles from mindlessly being left all over the map and it would provide the other team an opportunity to have some fun. Maybe include some type of delay required to jump start it once you enter it?

Confused, are you speaking on behalf of OWI?

    You confused yourself.

And yeah, I'm totally speaking on behalf of OWI. /s

You can easily see that not letting you take enemy vehicle is done intentionally. (it's a flip of a variable in sdk)

HMG/ATGM...etc. shouldn't be usable either(deployables are not that different from vehicles).

Yeah that would be massively abused. The tactic is already to not blow up vehicles that you find, all this would lead to is people stashing logis outside their main or in their FOB's.

It's just the same way as I enjoy the game when the enemy can jump on your own emplacements and tear you to shreds or mortar you. It forces you to be careful how/where you have your emplacements setup, because if you setup your emplacement to point directly at your own team/FOB, and then abandon it, you sorta deserve to get torn to shreds by it.

If you leave a logi abandoned, then it should be fair game for the enemy. I think your concern about them leaving it at their own main could be dealt with in various ways. Maybe the Commander can issue a self-destruct timer on any stolen vehicles, etc.

You guys haven't convinced me that I wouldn't like this. I'd enjoy the game more if vehicles could be stolen.

    "how/where you have your emplacements"

So again teammates screws you over. It can even be considered griefing to build ATGM for enemy.

It's like suggesting fob defenses should be cheaper to "counter" fob-spam.

Nobody's here to convince you whether you should like it, because frankly whether you like it or not is irrelevant - people are allowed to like bad things.

Funny, they implemented some of my changes and there is now less fob spam and the servers are more full than ever. I haven't seen them implement a single thing you've droned on about yet.

This entire game is predicated upon teammates being able to screw you over. Large amounts of player freedom/decision making = possibility for teammates to absolutely lose you the game.

Examples including an SL placing an FOB in a bad spot, denying you a more important radio spot, a heli pilot crashing at a critical time, or an MBT hitting a mine because the driver wasn't paying attention, costing your team tank support.

There isn't "less" fob spam at all.

You've only droned on about nothing useful at all and none of it was your idea.

Even more reason to not have more of that bs.

    That is a nice suggestion.

Yes for being able to steal some vehicles. Light vehicles / tanks . Maybe remove the telemeter feature when a vehicle is captured.

And make sure a different flag / Little painted thing apear on the vehicle . Enough to avoid FF but not too obvious so it remains realistic.

Otherwise not for logis / Helicopter or it will be a hell of a mess.

A simple tip would make it harder to abuse from it :

    • You first have to Lockpick it before being able to take it . Make it with a timer long enough like the one for flipping a vehicle over.
    • And if the vehicle is damaged, it has to be repaired prior to lockpicking.

I tend to prefer more player freedom, even if it means they can **** themselves/other people over

This would just make it even more frustrating to play
