Suggestion: Remove the ability to dig down mines (for now)

It's probably the most exploited part of the game in its current form.

Road textures for some maps are raised a bit too far above the ground layer which allows people to place them and dig them down so far that they are underneath the texture of the road. Mutaha and Narva are the biggest examples of this.

This makes them practically invisible unless you are prone next to the road to look underneath the road texture. A moving vehicle does not have this benefit.

It would be completely fine if the cap of the mine was visible, and a careless driver did not pay attention and died to it, but if you can't see the cap of the mine, then what is the point.

If server staff are expected to ban people who exploit, by glitching themselves in objects or similar. Then surely this exploit is to be treated with similar severity and the game is changed for the better.

I don't want mines to be removed from the game, nor do I want to see the mine digging feature be removed and never revisited. However, like the MEA HAT Material bug, the vehicle armour meshes bug, and the double penetration bug (all of which were fixed as soon as they were reported), this bug is now known and should be taken out now to be addressed later down the line.

Roads should get the skorpo tunnel treatment(where digging down the mines wouldn't hide them at all).

"double penetration bug (all of which were fixed as soon as they were reported)"

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Double damage bug has been reported forever. The other two were just too gamebreaking to ignore.

Hmm, haven't played Skorpo in a bit so that could be interesting. I am afraid that even the dirt paths on Mutaha have the raised texture nonsense.

Good road mines are hidden well irl so....no

IRL you can't get through asphalt then cover it up easily in like 5 shovels.

IEDs have been buried in roads by melting asphalt then re-doing the road surface but that is not gonna happen within the typical round time of squad. (and it's still gonna look like fresh asphalt)

So if you would like to spend the whole round digging down one mine on the road, feel free to mod this yourself.

Yes, they are very well hidden where you can actually dig them down. You can't dig down mines on asphalt without significant effort.

Did you see that video of the Russians' mines laid down on those Ukrainian highways?

There would be so much effort to hide them effectively that they simply laid them down just as a deterrent and **** off.

If you actually had a new texture that showed destroyed bitumen with a mine sitting in that hole, that'd be cool.

If we instead got a texture that applies to the road instead of a 3D model that gets dug under, it'd be good too
