Temporary marks for squad members - QOL suggestion

Since the only who can place marks on the map are Squad and Fireteam leaders all other members of the squad simply cannot place info marks on the map. Very often players use fireteam leader transfer to someone who asks about it to be able to place something on map when gathering some info which is quite frustrating. Instead I suggest adding the possibility for all squad members to place temporary marks on the map. It should work like this:
Any non-leader squad member can place only one type of mark on the map (something like question mark or X - shape). Mark can be seen by anyone of only that squad. Mark remains visible for a minute then disappears. If someone of squad leaders pins any normal mark near a temporary mark, that mark automatically disappears.

Learn to use the map.
Question mark for SL should be a decent QoL feature on its own.
Learn to use the map.
This is most incoherent excuse to Squad game which is not aimed to hardcore players. This is the problem where everyone use map to check for new marks to get info about found enemies and vehicles. It's frustrating when someone of your squad says "Tank on me" and you need to find them on the map first. I often meet players who don't know where is North and Where is south, it's easier to give them fireteam leader and let them put that mark on the map to understand what they mean. This feature will let us avoid that routine.
Again, learn to use map.
The game already tells you exactly where you/friendlies are on the map, also the map coordinate of where your cursor is.
Why don't you have the game do the aiming for you?
Skill issue.
Casuals BTFO
SL mark range should be removed too.
Again, learn to use map.
Again, I do know how to use map. My random teammates don't. Very often when you play alone but not with your own party of friends you can find this kind of issues. If you speak for realism and immersiveness there shouldn't be any marks on the map at all, why don't you say you want to remove all marks from the game?
Tell them to l2play. Stop trying to get the game to cater to the lowest common denominators, that's how all of the casualization and "console parity"...etc. happen.
Why don't you have the game do the aiming for you?
I do want to remove mark-as-rangefinder from game.
that's how all of the casualization and "console parity"...etc. happen.
The game is ALREADY casualed by such thing as marks. This idea will just add a bit of QOL to use that system and don't change anything. If you want to not have such things then all those mechanics like should be deleted first. And if you don't want to see marks at all I suggest you to play on modded servers.
Even more reason to NOT make it even more casualized.
Again Why don't you have the game do the aiming for you?
If you want to see extra marks, go make a mod for it. Or just go play battlefailed.
You used to be able to anonymously "ping" on the map and you'd say "check my ping on SW" but they removed it donkeys ago to promote communication, but it just ended up doing the opposite and having less things marked because then people didnt bother to communicate, the pinging did incite communication because guess what, telling your SL and other players what the pings are is communication, you also need to know where to look for them, that is better than what we have now.
Nope, people need to learn to call out map coords or stfu.
I find the current map coordinate system incredibly unintuitive, especially when you don't have a numpad.
I wish squad had the normal 10 unit grid system IE 192,452 where you divide the grids into chunks and go further down, i find it much better.
Nope, people need to learn to call out map coords or stfu.
I don't understand why you play Squad with it's already casualed gameplay and try to force everyone to not use what they used to instead of going to play something else what is not so casual.
You don't need a numpad to remember where they are or just hover cursor on your own map...
I don't understand why you keep trying to casualize squad despite being able to just play battlefailed.
Again, go play battlefailed.
the fact that the numpad reverses though on the last grid layer is kinda disorientating, i understand why though, they want the numbers to s tart from the position close to the coordinate.
By the way, i come from arma. not casual and i've been playing squad for years.
99% of time you only needed the first numpad anyway.
I wish they wouldn't have added fireteam marking in the first place. It just ruins the whole idea of a fire team leader and turns it into the marking role.
Really many of the issues with marking go away when players learn to stick together and communicate. A squad's members ought to be close enough that basic cardinal directions should do most of the work. Anything more specific and you go down to compass bearings. When you get to the point where you have to communicate map grids then something is off.
