radio communication proposal

communication proposal ..

-To reduce the communication stress of the SL, which makes few people want to be SL.

-separate the communications of FT's that go separately in the strategies and assault ... also among them the squads that have a section in vehicle and the rest infantry ... that communications would not be stepped on since the vehicle is assigned to a FT.

- there would be no more than reassigning the communications without adding keys

commander

"g" to talk to the SL.

"b" speak to your own squad.

local "v"

and communications by numpad

SL

"g" to speak to the commander

"b" to speak with your FT's or in case of not existing with your squad.

local "v"

and communications by numpad

FT

"g" to talk to SL

"b" members of your FT

local "v"

soldiers

"b" talk to your all your FT or your Squad in case you are not inside a FT.

Fire teams can just use local chat.

SLs should be able to talk directly to their squad members. I'm definitely against any idea that doesn't let the SL communicate with their squad members.

I think these changes just makes it more confusing and obstructs communication with no real gain.

I'm not sure, on the one hand, the SL should be able to order all his people at any time but on the other hand, it would make the game minimally slower which would be good. But I think the change would have more negative effects than positive.

However, I see a lot of benefit in slightly expanding the system.

That FT-Leader and FT-Squadmember get another button for voice communication (e.g. Num 0).

That everyone can talk as usual in the squad chat but that you have the possibility to minimize the general clutter in the voice chat by using for example the FT-Charlie chat to not disturb / indirectly stress your teammates because they already have enough on their ears.

That SL and FTL talk directly I think is not very useful because if the SL says "Chalie, go to the West and observe" the FTL does not have to repeat it and everyone knows immediately what their task is and that the boss has ordered it.

There is no reason for a fireteam channel. Fireteams should never be operating independent enough from the rest of the squad to necessitate their own channel. Any information that is important enough to be transmitted over the fireteam channel should be important enough for the rest of the squad to hear as well. If the fireteam needs to be able to communicate information that is only valuable to the other fireteam members then they should do so in local. They ought to be close enough for that anyways.

The only place where there might be room for an additional channel would be for a vehicle intercom, but even then, local chat is more than sufficient for the task.

If you are getting overwhelmed by all the communications, start telling people to quiet down. If the command channel is getting too noisy, encourage the other SL's to use direct comms with the other SL's for unimportant communications. If it is your squad that is being too loud, just ask them to clear comms for a minute or otherwise encourage them to use local chat as much as they can.

This. Couldn't have said it better myself.

If you are getting overwhelmed by all the communications...

Geebus has great points, but also remember you can tweak your settings so command chat goes to one ear and squad chatter goes to the other. You can also tweak the volume of each chat to give priority to one or the other.

Now, I do wish there were key binds available to change the volume of local/squad/command chat on the fly in increments of 5%. It would be nice to turn down squad chatter to focus on comm chatter and vice versa.

Then delete the ft, you want it if you want it, it must be that I am and inco that did military service, and the bosses gave the orders to their FT and these to their section ...

    .......

It seems that you have been playing squad for 2 days, in squad as in real life, they saturate the radio with unnecessary information, a lot, and the function of the FT is precisely to receive the thinning of the orders from the SL to manage the in its section. The rest don't have to have a direct channel with the SL, haven't you done your military service?

for me this balancing the sound as I heard, an insufficient attempt to fix the situation.

As I told you, almost no one wants to be a squad leader, they constantly get raffled for it, and they do not last more than two games ...

because they end up crazy ...

It is constant to hear them request silence from the entire squad, because they do not find out about the conversations with the command or vice versa ...

the solution in more practical and realistic.

because you think the commanders do briefing with their SL and these in turn with their FT and the latter with their platoons

I was going to make a topic about having a fireteam voice channel and fire team text channel but saw this. My SL put me in a fire team of two with the engineer, I was a rifleman and meant to supply him. We got separated and there was times that we were forced to use the squad comm's And it was very hard to hear him because my SL wouldn't shut up.l and would talk over us. I agree with the OP who posted this and think It would free up more radio chatter and encourage FTL's to become leaders more and lead their team to do their mission.

I agree with the OP. Please make a separate FT comm. It will increase teamwork by allowing an FT to get their orders and then work together. The idea that local chat is enough for a FT is complete bull. I've played sometimes with a commander where the commander promoted me to FT and then put the entire squad under me and told them to follow me. They then asked we tried to utilize local chat as much as possible to clear the comms so they could hear the command chat better. If we had a dedicated FT comm, then the commander could have gotten exactly what he wanted, less squad chat so he could focus on his job better. I've also had times where I've lead a FT that include a sniper for overwatch while the rest of us went an took out a fob. It would have been nice to communicate directly with that sniper who was WAY outside of local chat. The squad chat is already busy enough, so having less squad chat when it could be handled by an FT chat channel would be helpful.

Here's another fun/crazy idea. Create a "radio comms" role. Let someone else on the squad handle the command chat and pass info to the SL as needed. SL could always jump on a command channel if they wanted (ie. "squad 3 actual") otherwise they can just tell their radio guy to pass info to/from the command chat so they don't have to waste time doing it. I think that would be pretty cool.

1-9 on squad chat if you are a squad member would be nice too
