What FPS do you get playing Squad with your rig?

Recommended Posts

Empty servers are a completely different matter, you won't see CPU bottlenecking there as there is a lot less CPU load. I get 120fps max graphics settings in an empty server at 1080p with an i7-4790k and an EVGA 980ti FTW but in a full server it'll dip down to 50fps at only high medium settings and the GPU usage drops to 40/50% which shows the CPU is bottlenecking in a full server under load.

Sorry but a drop in gpu% doesn't always show your cpu is bottlenecking your system when it comes to online games or even alpha games come to that. You need to check cpu performance as well and not just rely on a low gpu usage. My cpu (i7 3770k) usage will hover around 60-70% on 2 cores on full or empty servers but my gpu (780ti) is underused on full ones giving me big fps drops.

Agreed but low GPU usage is usually the first basic symptom on an optimised game, obviously we know Squad is not fully optimised yet and the devs have already told us that CPU usage is abnormally high due to animations.

Mr 2500k again.

Ive done a clean install with win 10. Yet to set up drivers and software. Will report back on FPS once completed.

Gpu usage was jumpingbaround constantly on afterburner whilst ingame. 100% 60% 35% never sitting still for more than a few secs. Settings make little or no difference to FPS.

After the 3.9 patch with all settings epic , msaa 8x , 1920x1080 , resolution scale %150, only shadows medium.. I'm getting 27 fps stable at 72 player maps

45 fps stable at 50 player maps..

One tip for Amd CPU users turn your headset to stereo from 5.1 /7.1 virtual systems..it prevents fps drop while communicating with your team.

Your graphics card is low-end and is likely the cause of your low FPS. You bought a decent pre-built computer that has good components inside (i5-4460-3.2GHZ+, 1TB-HD, 8GB-1600mhz,) excluding the GT-730 GPU which is far weaker than a recommended bare minimum affordable 750-TI 2GB ($130) which also struggles to run the game optimally. GT-730 ($65) is comparable to an R7-240 and is simply not a great card, best bet is shooting for a newer graphics card! (Nvidia GTX-960/970($220/$340) or Radeon R9-380X/390($230/$340) or whatever fits your budget best to boost your performance!

(Same thing applies to the user above (IIIRBR PUNKIII) with a Gts 250 1gb equipped)

Updated my fps gains for FX-8350/280X on PG-6 since the new patch 3.9, Jan-2016!

You may find your 150% scaling is killing your fps. Try it at 100%. You might also want to try the aa solution through your amd control panel and turn off the in game solution to see if you can gain any performance / quality that way.

at 150% , I can see very good at far away opponents.. At %100 it seems a little bit blury at same distance. So I selected as 150 %

But I know that after some trials I can get 5 more fps with 100% scaling..

For AA settings, I will try AMD control panel and inform about results

Thanks

I was going to buy the GTX 960, however my PSU can only handle 300w, and my PC doesn't have the two 6-pin cables to run it. So Looks like I'll have to go with the GTX 750 ti SC

Buy a different PSU. Holding back on a GPU because of a PSU is madness.
