FPS: 40-85CPU: i5-4590 @3.3GhZ (Seems like Squad doesn't use much of the CPU, only utilized max 45% of all cores)GPU: EVGA GTX 960 2gb SCRAM: 8gbRes: 1440x900p Settings: Most settings Epic. One high.

NOW FOR FOOLS ROAD....

FPS: 35 min. 46 avg. 83 max.

GPU: EVGA 980 TI Hybrid

RAM: 32GB @ 3000

How do you get that I have the exact same rig and I never hit 100 while playing in servers.. As a matter of fact my GPU is even fast then yours I have the Zotac Geforce GTX 980ti  AMP! Extreme

Sorry for the double post but I just created an account, @Strange how do you manage to hit all of those frames? Send me a PM if you can..

Not overly impressed with my performance so far considering I don't have a bad PC spec and I'm only gaming at 1080p and have:

AA: Off

MSAA: Off

Shadows: Low

Shadow Quality: Off

Shadow Max Res: 512

Worth noting though I have SweetFX taking care of my AA

60fps capped (0-40ish players in a server)

40-50fps (40+ players in a server or theres lots of smoke)

My GPU usage in game is shocking, its like 40-50% ( <-------- this really my main concern because as we all know in an ideal world this should be 99% at all times in game)

OS: Windows 8.1

Mobo: MSI z97 Gaming 5

CPU: Intel i7-4790k (stock clocks)

CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO

GPU: EVGA 980ti FTW 6GB (stock clocks)

RAM: 16GB Corsair 1600MHz

SSD1: Samsung EVO

SSD2: Samsung EVO

PSU: Corsair HX1000

nvidia control panel settings:

nvcp2_zpsvwatirua.png

Game settings:

2016-01-01_00001_zpsx7larccq.jpg

Any ideas, or am I stuck waiting for more optimization?

Also before anyone says to OC my CPU, I spent a few hours yesterday trying to get 4.6GHz out of it but it kept crashing and wiping my BIOS settings every time along with some Windows display settings and also quadrupled my boot time to 30secs! Took me about 4hrs to sort it all out, get it all set back up and get my boot time back down to 6 or 7 seconds. So I'm leaving it at stock clocks for now!

Looking at others in this thread claiming high FPS at higher resolutions than me with very similar specs makes me think something is wrong with my settings, I know (well assume) my hardware is OK as it's scoring OK on Firestrike demo:  http://www.3dmark.com/fs/7012768

Either that or it just simply varies massively from server to server and map to map?

FPS: 40 - 65

CPU: 2700k @5.1 ghz

GPU:asus rog gtx 780ti x 2 sli @1150/3800

RAM: rip jaws 2133mhz 8gb

Res: 3820 x2160 4k

Settings:epic except for shadow high draw distance high post process high

Average 45 to 65 fps..35 players or more it'd not enjoyable I have Tryed hyper threading on vs off shut down processes . Since there's such a extremely high cpu bottle neck in this game you can crank the res scale and settings up to retardo levels to get gpu ussage up not playing till they fix the bottle neck. Shouldn't need a 6 ot a 8 core cpu @ 5.5 ghz to maintain 60 + fps on this game... reminds me off arma 2 and 3 same cpu bottle neck ..... such a wicked game but the low fps makes me do a 180. Waiting game I suppose

FPS: 25-35

CPU: FX-8350

GPU: R9 280X

RAM: 16GB 1600MHz DDR 3 RAM (2x8GB)

Res: 1920x1080

Settings: Epic (or low, doesn't change anything)

We have the same processor so I get the same thing; graphics card doesn't matter.

60fps ALL the time in a 72 slot server?

Alright, I changed my resolution to 720p, and I EASILY get a constant 60fps on everymap.  (I do dip below 50 if a TON of grenades blow up at once.).  But smoke doesn't effect me much.  (Maybe a 4-6 fps drop).

I have to admit, I didn't expect squad to be this optimized on my rig.  Good job devs, and I praise the work you guys will do to get everyone working like a charm!

Forest maps have a steady 40-50 fps with occasional drops to 30's on a full 72 man server and a lot of action. Desert maps 30-40 with huge lag spikes even in quiet(ish) areas down to 10 for a second?

Changing settings seems to make no real difference to fps for me.

I may try on a server that is less than 40 people to get a better comparison.

40 - 55fps @ 60 players (vsync)

2500k Sandy @ 3.7ghz (will OC more, need new heatsink.

Fury X 4gb hbm

16gb 1600 ddr2

X2 60gb SSD RAID 0

Everything Epic

Conclusion on my setup - Serious cpu bottleneck. Just forget about recording / streaming till I got a new chip / mobo.

Yeah, the GTX 970 only have 3.5Gb vram. Many peps have problem with that. Nvidia and the box say there is 4gb on the 970 but it only have 3.5Gb vram. As I said before. 8Gb on a slow card = no use.

The 970 has 4gb v-ram. The last 0,5 is slower to adress than the first 3,5gb. To say it dosnt have 4gb is just wrong.

Afterburner reports 3,5 - 4gb usage in squad on my 970.

I5 4,5+970, 8gb system ram

Settings: mix of high/epic, aa off. 1920x1080

On hip pup 60-72 players

Fps:

Min 35

Avg 50-60

Max 150+

I'd really like to know how much FPS we will probably gain after the animation overhaul.

I so want to buy a new rig, but this is holding me off because I don't have the biggest budget, but I still want to have a smooth gaming experience. My goal is a 6600k and GTX970 currently, but I guess I'll have to wait.

Oh well...

The i5 2500k is a damn good quad core cpu so I am a bit surprised it's struggling. What checks have you done to confirm it's your bottleneck? Afterburner? Task Manager? Are you 100% sure nothing else (malware, AV) is eating up your performance?

My buddy has a rig like that, plays squad well, 50-60 fps 1920x1080, mix of high/epic settings. CPU running stock speed.

About the fps gain when animation is fixed, my guess would be 20-30% better fps on high pup.

That's a hard question to answer. I think most people get over 60 fps on empty servers and 90+% GPU usage. The player models etc don't add a lot of extra complexity for the GPU so in theory you should be somewhere close to the max you get on empty servers maybe -10 or 20 fps or so when things start to get messy from explosions and smoke.

I really hope the Devs have found the main cause of the performance issue but there could also be many other factors having an impact yet to be discovered.

People with even more powerful CPU's are seeing a CPU bottleneck so I'm not surprised that the above i5 is having the same issue. Usual CPU bottleneck symptoms are low GPU usage AND lower than expected FPS and in game graphics settings making little to no difference in FPS.

My son has a i7 2600k stock and a 970. That is just barely a more powerful gaming cpu and doesn't suffer bottlenecking. I'd have to get him to run Afterburner to confirm but his fps is mostly in the 80s on empty servers taking the usual current dips when on populated servers.

He might want to try disabling core parking if he hasn't already.

Empty servers are a completely different matter, you won't see CPU bottlenecking there as there is a lot less CPU load. I get 120fps max graphics settings in an empty server at 1080p with an i7-4790k and an EVGA 980ti FTW but in a full server it'll dip down to 50fps at only high medium settings and the GPU usage drops to 40/50% which shows the CPU is bottlenecking in a full server under load.
