What FPS do you get playing Squad with your rig?

Recommended Posts

FPS: 30-40 (and about 80 on empty/newly started servers)
CPU: x2 Intel Xeon 2670 v3 (12 cores each, runs at 2.3 Ghz, boosts to just about 2.8)
GPU: GTX 1060
RAM: 16GB 2133
Res: 1920x1080
Settings: Low-High, doesn't really make that much of a difference

I am definitely CPU-bound.

My graphics card is idling a lot, and in intense combat, the fps dips under 30.

Note, that these two CPU's together has around 3x the performance of a 6700k, yet, only in heavily multithreaded tasks.

I did not see any performance gains with the new patch, that supposedly implemented multithreading - very strange indeed.

Hopefully the game will utilize more threads in the future.

this is your issue, CPU bound big time. But you knew that.

I did indeed, however, BF1 for example, does take advantage of over 10 threads, making this CPU very suitable.

I am fully aware, that currently the single core performance of the CPU really weighs down the whole thing, but I am convinced, that if all components of the game that can be parallelised, is parallelised, then it'll perform admirably.

While the latest patch, as I said, didn't seem to make much of a difference, I hope that the future will bring more life the game on my system.

But yes, indeed, as you point out, I am very much CPU bound.

55-70fps @ 4k 40" depends on map rather than server pop.

5820K 4.4ghz OC

16GB 2333 MHz ram
MSI GTX1080 GamingX

The last game update saw a great fps boost. Around 15FPS.

Depends on map, on full servers anywhere from 55-90fps on 3440x1440.

6700k @ 4.7GHz

GTX1080 HOF

Uber RAM but that makes no difference

i7 -6700

GTX 970

16 GB Ram

SSD

1080p

EPIC default settings

Real and not grossly exaggerated FPS=  40-90+ All depending on map and server population....

Could make a huge impact in CPU bound senarios like Squad ,  Especially with Skylakes hunger for Memory Bandwith with Dualchannel memory -->

Saw some Fallout 4 Benches where Skylake won around 60% min FPS in CPU bound areas going from DDR 1600 to DDR3200.

Would be be interessting to see Memory clock impact and if its noticabel, maybee you can test DDR 2133 and 3200 (or more dont know your specs but uber ram sounds highend  ) on same server ?

Only gets to 45 on heavily forested maps like Fools Road, most INS maps I get constant 55-65fps

Maybe instead of us all posting our specs and FPS would it help if there was some sort of profiling telemetry sent back to the devs?

Would that help isolate spots on maps where the FPS plummets or sections of code that need tweaking?

Perhaps the devs could then respond with feedback about which settings are asking too much of GPUs/CPUs?
Or even the game itself could hint/suggest graphics settings that are more appropriate to a user's hardware?

The problem is many people on the servers. We need more servers with like 32 players maximum or so.

OS: Win 10
Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 5
CPU: i7-4790k @ 4.6GHz (Hyperthreading disabled)
Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO
GPU: EVGA 980ti FTW (stock clocks)
RAM: 16GB Corsair XMS3 1600MHz
SSD: 120GB Samsung EVO
SSD: 250GB Samsung Pro
Storage: 1TB HDD
PSU: Corsair HX1000

Res: 1440p Ultrawide (3440x1440)

40+ FPS dips under suppression and around smoke on some maps on a completely full server.

All settings max (no in game AA, I use ReShade 3 instead).

I would have thought I'd have got more FPS going by what others are 'claiming' BUT my PC benchmarks exactly where it should so I'm not concerned about my hardware.

Also, I've just got a G-Sync monitor so even when it does dip to 40 it feels exactly like 60+ anyway so it's all good. And also 1440p Ultrawide is freaking awesome.

Worth noting that my FPS was exactly the damn same while running at 1080p but with stutter/lag. So anyone anyone running 1080p that wants to upgrade to 1440p but unsure if your PC can power it then I'd say go for it judging by my findings, especially if you get a G-Sync/Freesync monitor as that technology should smooth out your FPS dips and lets face it, game optimisation 'should' only get better.

That's a nice OC, I thought I had mine stable at 4.7GHz 1.3v but it crashed twice after 4hrs straight of Squad so I went back to 4.6GHz at 1.25v and it seems fine now. What voltage and cooling you running?

4.8Ghz is set to auto mate so I would need to check, but im running a decent 240mm CPU AIO RAD etc.

I can play stable at 5Ghz as well, thats at 1.412v and under 100% load across all cores the CPU hits 85 max. I choose not to as it just seems overkill as all I want is 71fps at 2k 1.25 resolution scale constant which im getting at 4.8Ghz etc.
