Ingram Posted June 1, 2016 I've been watching my Frames Per Second (FPS) closely for a couple of months now. I've since exclusively played on 72-man servers with just over 225 hours logged in Squad. I've never counted stuttering in my recordings and have always managed to get past those issues with some file tweaking in the past. My way of recording FPS has always been to simply play the game and read my steam overlay, and come back here a couple of days later to report. I can honestly say that after heavily tweaking my ini files- FPS gains in V6 are substantial compared to the past couple of patches on older maps. FPS: 20-30 (avg-25) (72-man servers) (Dec 2015) FPS: 25-35 (avg 30) (72 man servers) since the optimization update (Jan-2016) FPS: 30-40 (avg 35) (72-man servers) since the 4.0 update (Feb 2016) FPS 24-44 (avg 35) (72-man servers) since the 5.0 update (March 2016) [Wilder/Heavier FPS-Drops, but higher FPS in general] FPS 30-51 (avg 40) (72-man servers) since the 6.0 update (May 2016) [Lots of Squad file tweaking to achieve higher AVG-FPS] CPU: AMD FX 8350 OC*-4.5Ghz GPU: R9-280X OC* RAM: 8GB DDR3 Res: 1600 * 900 OS: Win-7 64-BitSettings: Low (Settings matter little in-game)

My toaster was getting 10,000fps but the game was to weak and it blew up the toaster and burnt the toast. Now I had to get a real gaming pc and only get 80 fps. I wish I still had my 3 year old value select toaster to get better FPS.
Reevel Knievel Posted June 6, 2016 Picked up a new GTX 1080 FE card last week, have not been able to get the most out of it yet. Only sits around 30-60% GPU usage. Currently play 64 player servers. Average 60fps. Running 1080p 120Hz, everything highest, 150% res scale. CPU: i5 3570K @ 4.2Ghz (70% usage), 16GB ram, GTX 1080 @stock (50% usage). How are others getting 100+fps on full pop servers? How are others getting 100+fps on full pop servers? I have a similar setup. I am running a i7 3770k @ 4.5ghz, 16gb DDR3 2400 CAS10, and SLI GTX 1080 on a 500GB SSD with ramdisk. I am getting 80%+ GPU usage when I am not forcing SLI. I get around 60-80 fps for the un-optimized maps, and around 80-120 for the other maps with EPIC settings at 72 player servers. People are not getting 100+ FPS in full pop servers with max graphics on their 970s and 8gb of ram. Edited June 6, 2016 by Langor
Mellanbror Posted June 6, 2016 (edited) Latest patch was the best thing for me. No jitters and I can shoot again. From 55 fps and top around 90 depending on map and location. Ingame AA off and using SweetFX AA and Luma. 980ti, 6700 skylake, playing on 3440x1440. Edited June 6, 2016 by Mellanbror Skymo corrected me hehe

MrOcto Posted June 7, 2016 Update on the game performance I'm getting. Rig: i5 3570k @ 4,4ghz GTX 780 ti @ 1150mhz 16GB ddr3 1600mhz SSD 2560x1080 resolution Settings: Shadows OFF 100% scale AA off AO off View distance High Motion blur off Eye adapt off Effects Low 3GB texture setting Nvidia control panel = AF 8x Adaptive Vsync on FPS: 72 slot avg 40-50 (low of 35, high of 60 cap) 60 slot avg 45-55 (low of 40, high of 60 cap) Conclusion: 72 slot servers should be removed until performance is improved. Game is very playable for me fortunately, but still shocking performance overall.
Langor Posted June 7, 2016 1 hour ago, MrOcto said: Conclusion: 72 slot servers should be removed until performance is improved. Game is very playable for me fortunately, but still shocking performance overall. There are already 30/40/50 player servers. All you got to do is log on them instead of the 72 player servers. But there is nobody on them? That's because people who get poor performance are signing on the 72 instead of these servers and complain about it. Become the change and lead from the front. You could also create your own server if you have PING issues... 30 pop server for 33 dollars a month.. https://www.bluefangsolutions.com/shop/squad/ Just because you refuse to play on the lower population servers (along with many others), doesn't mean they should limit the server population for everyone. I have no problems handling a 72 player server.
