Recommended Posts

house to house, room to room combat, anyone?

And after you die you will spawn into a better place like in the video?

Sure looks great and shows what the engine is capable of. Hope people don't expect games to look like that anytime soon, even the video feels like 10FPS.

Imagine the interior of buildings in Squad looking like that..... Also what system you would need to let it look like that while not getting your PC to explode

I'm amazed by the level of realism of every single object (even more things like pillows and sheets where you can almost "feel" them ^^), and by the presence of realistic reflexions everywhere... so freakin amazing :D

Squad's graphics gonna be a huge leap forward from PR, although dev's can't spend time on making things as much detailed and polished as in this video... thanks to UE4 for making this possible ^^

FYI, this is a downloadable demo. You can load it up and walk around the apartment, and it is just as gorgeous as it looks in the video sample.

The link is currently down, but will purportedly be re-upped soon. The demo lacks menus and UI, it just puts you in the apt, and resolution is fixed at 720p.

EDIT: Here is a mirror to the 720p version.

just extract and open /UnrealParis_V1.1/Paris_Apartment/Binaries/Win32/Paris_Apartment.exe

All the computing power here dedicated only to render this tiny room and thats all. In game you're gonna have AI, destructable, etc, bunch of other things, each of which will require a piece of computing pie, and its limited. So even if devs had time to work on such details, they wouldn't be able to employ it. Unless all dudes here have NASA computers
