Suggestions for Invasion gamemode

While gamemode is really nice already, got some ideas out of nowhere that might make it even better, thought to write them down here in case someone wants to try some of them :))

 

I believe gamemode represent an invading army penetrating into another country, so it would be realistic as well as more interesting if defending side would have big amount (5000-10 000)  of building supplies (maybe ammo too) at each of the defensive points without need to bring them in with trucks. Trucks could be needed for ammo. That would kinda be realistic that the defending side has been preparing for war and built some fortifications or at least prepared to build them. This could be flag dependent, like some flags would have 1000, some 10 000. It would be nice to see player built defenses such as sandbags, maybe concrete bunkers, foxholes, barricades, wooden log bunkers in a hill, forest, bridge, etc that are large and effective way to defend. To balance it out, attacking army could have little extra equipment to help them penetrate defenses, or shorter timer on artillery strikes or extra airstrikes etc. Players seem to love building those, and attacking those and destroying those and those fit perfectly on invasion gamemode :)

Great idea, but it needs the added "how" factor?

 

Is the defensive side given 5, 10 or 15 minutes to start building?

 

If so, what is the attacking team doing? How is that implemented fairly?

Only what they have now, no need for extra timers. But maybe it would be good to make defendable flags invisible until those are next just like in random AAS

Arty has made superfobs not protected by buildings useless. Additionally, typically the limiting factor in building large super fobs has been man power in terms of the SL placing down assets or players building those assets. You can dedicate one or two people to run logi and you will never run out of supplies faster than you can build...with a few exceptions big maps, like Tali and that one in Norway.
