Atmospheric Ambience

Recommended Posts

One thing I've always really liked about Squad is attention to details regarding audio ambience in the maps. Things like the thunder on Kamdesh, wolves howling on Belaya, traditional Arabic music on Al Basrah, the wind sounds on Kohat and birds chirping & insect sounds on the other maps really add to the overall experience in the game.

Add to that the reverb volumes in buildings and tunnels, creaking sounds on vehicles, tire noise on different surfaces, buzzing lights and crackling campfires it all really pulls the maps together. Coming from playing the Delta Force series I always noticed how Novalogic made their simplistic maps really come to live with audio cues as well so in that sense Squad reminds me a lot of those games.

That said, I'm really looking forward to Anders possibly going over each and every map and adding way more of his magic to them because in a lot of places the maps are kind of dull & lifeless so to speak.

I agree with you , some part o some maps are unnaturally silent.

One layer on Skorpo features rain and I really like that.

Some improvements and more atmospheric ambience would be amazing.
