What do you think i should do ?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. I need your help ! I’m gonna buy a lenovo legion y540 (8 gb ram, 1660 ti, 128gb ssd) but i have a problem. I have a low budget and I saw that squad needs a really good cpu so what do you think i should do. I have the choice between i5 9300h and i7 9750h (costs 150e more).

And last question is it worth it to go with 16gb or is 8gb ram good enough ?

Thx for ur help !

The i5 will work just fine.

And for your second question, definitely go for 16gb of ram. I started off with 8 GB and after upgrading to 16gb things run far better.

Really ? Because a lot of people say 16gb ram is only worth it if you have other stuff open while playing.

It is really hard to know which specs are fine for this game

When it comes to laptops i'd suggest to get the i7 9750h. 8GBs of RAM nowadays is not enough for general gaming and that includes Squad as well. You should definitely get 16GBs.

- Decent at playing games

- Laptop

- reasonably  priced

You can only have two of the above at any time

@Frenchie I think Psyrus is saying if you  want reasonably priced gaming PC don't buy a laptop.

Yes i know thats why i wanna be sure that if i put more money (+220e for i7 and 16gb ram) i’ll be able to play squad otherwise i’ll just buy the base model.

I play on a laptop. I7-8700 & 1060 6gb. Here in Orlstralia the same desktop setup was only a few hundred $'s less at the time.

Word of advice: stretch your budget and buy the best possible setup. It's very hard to upgrade a laptop. I regret not going for a 1070.

Look at undervolting and a laptop cooler. Temps/throttling can be an issue.

You want the 9750 and at least 16gb of RAM. What GPU?

From memory a 1660 is on par or just about a 1060 6gb. You should get away with 60+fps on high/epic @ 1080p.
