Asymmetrical Grudge Match

I'm really looking forward to a USA vs. INS invasion layer on Tallil with the Abrams up against whatever new gear the Insurgents will be getting. The same match up on Al Basrah as well would be a riot too. How do you think the matches would play out and will the asymmetrical match up ultimately balance out sufficiently once the fight gets back to town or will the INS be able to hold at Gas Station or the Airfield? It'll be interesting to see what an SPG Technical wolfpack can do against the back of an Abrams as well.

I really don't think asymmetrical warfare is solid term in Squad anymore. Every update INS receive features to go 1 for 1 against the conventional armies. Engine limitations and community complaints are probably the root but besides ieds and quick transports, the INS play just like the US/RU/UK.

There has yet to be a layer with INS matched up against the T-72 or Abrams is my point.

I don't see how this would be fun for INS with the actual balancing we have right now. 

We already had AAS layers with US vs. INS and they were just terrible. 

Let the INS where they belong, in the INS game mode.

100% this

insurgents have no place in AAS, should be Invasion and INS only

trying to balance them otherwise can only result in either underpowered conventional factions or overpowered insurgents

As much as I would love to see it, with the next update adding even more optics to the conventional armies it would probably only make the balance that much worse for the INS.

 

Some things could be experimented with but I don't see OWI doing that and would probably have to wait for modding 2.0 to come and have the community roll them out at a faster pace to see what works. Like US vs INS, but only the INS have a MBT and maybe the teams would 40 vs 60 or something. There are things to be tried out and slowly tuned in to see what works, but(and no offense intended to OWI) OWI is just to slow on the updates to make that viable and the community would take it a lot worse if it isn't good compared to if its in a controlled environment with modding.

I think that the unconvetinal playstyle needs to be changed , the UC forces are just lesser equipped C forces, they need something that makes them different

Invasion mode always gives INS the home turf advantage plus extra time at the start of the match. Not only that INS and has better mobility. Honestly though they really need Molotov's, VBIED's, improvised barrel bomb cannons and poison gas. That would be different for sure. I don't care much for the gameplay in Sandstorm at all however it does implement this devious stuff real well.

I'm toying with an idea for a number imbalance as well. eg 18 players vs 62 players :)

A few ideas to keep it fun for everyone. Of course everyone wants to be on the 18 player side, I'm thinking a team switch reward for the top players and a penalty for the bottom...lots to figure out.

Happy to take suggestions...

I'd be interested in seeing that, but hopefully after the modes supporting Ins get a little more love. Also kinda like the idea of going asymmetric in team sizes... could be neat!
