What exactly happened with this game mode? Is there any timeline when it will be properly included back?

It would be nice to see it comeback. Yea it has its problems but it is nice to have a little change of pace compared to AAS.

By itself I find Insurgency Mode uninteresting simply due to the fact that it encourages pillow fort building on a grand scale which I find tedious and boring.

It would much cooler if the cache system could somehow be integrated into the last flag in AAS.

It's been utterly neglected. Sad thing is people loved it in PR. If OWI could just copy.paste pr's insurgency ruleset that would be super cool.

Theres a million reasons why PR's insurgency was so fun and they basically all got thrown out in Squad haha.

They have said time and time again that they are working on it, but who knows. Game modes in general need some love (which they have been doing).

It doesn't translate well without the points/reveal system and VBIEDs.

Some of us miss the delights of weapon caches. Hoping new year gets it some DEV love. :)

Unfortunately Insurgency didn't get much love in V12 and in fact has some bugs with the spawn system.

We definitely want to get it back up to a working standard.

I agree PR Insurgency had alot of great ideas (I know as I helped with it)

The Intel system with civilians was very unique and would love something like that to one day make it into Squad.

For now we have a mode from the modding community making it's way thru the getting process... It's basically Insurgency mode but more streamlined with a focus on competitive play... It's not a replacement but a good stand-in til we can dedicate more resources to making a proper Insurgency game mode with the depth of gameplay we had in PR (and I'm hoping even more so now that we have a lot more tools available to create a really unique game mode that takes full advantage of the teamwork oriented ethos that Squad players have adapted, which would make this game mode viable)

Intel idea:

Intel value exposes cache faster (similar to PR but without need for civilian class)

  • Attackers incapacitate a defender .
  • +1 intel Attackers revive this defender he becomes [captured], before he gives up (add a min 10[?] second give up). He now has a new loadout which only contains a bandage. (could limit to defender SL only and boost values?)
  • +2 intel If SL is within 5m of him when he is revived he becomes a [prisoner] who can only control head view, all other motion mimics SL with 1m offset behind SLs walking path. Prisoner can also give up and lose ticket, makes no difference to intel and prisoner model remains attached to SL.
  • -1 intel If prisoner or revived defender is killed again in this state then intel is reduced. Will count as TK for defenders but negates intel loss.
  • A [captured] defender who is not a prisoner needs to go to an ammo crate or cache to get ammo or needs to respawn. Attackers can follow him....
  • +5 intel If SL gets into a vehicle while a prisoner is attached.

  • Could expand to include captured attacker SL to subtract intel. eg only possible if no attackers nearby.

Current Insurgency layers play out so predictable.

1. Watch where the defenders Logis go.

2. Hit position with mass smoke mortars.

3. Assault and destroy cache.

4. Repeat twice more.
