Game constantly freezing

Recommended Posts

I have a issue with the new v12 update, every few minutes or so my game will freeze up for about 10-30 seconds not allowing me to do anything. Happens at the worst times. Ex: SL giving an order, running across a field, driving, etc... If im in the middle of driving or running or what not it'll continue to do so until my game unfreezes. This use to happen in v11 every once in a blue moon but with v12 it's gotten worse.

my specs:

Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20GHz (12 CPUs), ~3.2GHz

Installed RAM - 16GB

System type - 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

I already have pre-load textures off, already have game on borderless, my graphics are set down medium for everything except high for view distance, I alos have super sampling 1.25x on and im using T-FXAA anti-aliasing

This happens to me also, very frustrating when at critical points.

The worst is when :

  • Freezes, then dead when the game unfreezes after 10-30 sec
  • Has opportunity to take out multiple enemies simultaneously, but,  alas,  the game then Freezes,  and on unfreezing, is now either dead or transferred ~150M away ...

I don't get any freezes but I do experience stuttering. V11 didn't stutter.

Might have something to do with loading textures.

Is related to CPU, when the "blue freeze of death" happens the usage of the CPU drops to below less than ~5% busy/usage every time and then back up to normal usage (for Squad ~80%) when it unfreezes.

I have the same problem, i'm guessing it's due to low memory.

It would require a large degree of game optimization. I get my worst spikes when approaching the front and the enemy team start appearing. Also nearby explosion effects give me a large spike.

But the highest and longest spikes are when the game is loading in.

That's why i think it's memory related.

Turn off super sampling

turn off pre-load textures.

Turn off any background programs

make sure the game isnt running in any compatibility mode.

basically free up as much memory as possible. But it mightn't be solely to do with memory.
