Insurgency gamemode , we need it!

Guys i see some of you talking about the balance.Insurgency gamemode is specially for ins  and militia ( maybe)vs regulars. Is hard to balance a faction that is just10x better equiped than the other in a conventional battle gamemode like AAS .

What we should look at now is this awesome gamemoede that gets 0 love. Back in PR this was awesome. I am hoping to see it coming soon.

 

Insurgents had extra spawn points apart from main at the start of the round in some maps. That gives the advantage to the ins to set up an ambush when a convoy is passing.

 

If u wanna suggest something gameplay related i 

stongly recommend to check PRoyect reality first.

Honestly its weird. Its not fun but i dont even know why. INS in INS isnt really fun at all unlike invasion, where defending is also fun

insurgency is in some rotations (have you not seen it is in the game?) RIP server #1 has it I think.

 

It can be great fun to play occasionally as long as the teams know how the gamemode works. If they dont then it is pretty rubbish.

 

defenders need to switch from careful play to suicidal human shield style. defend at all costs.

 

Current cache spawn system often gives the attackers an easy time. a late cache often spawns in an easy position for them to attack when a defence has been very good on earlier caches.

Perhaps the last cache to appear could spawn in a location averaged to player numbers in certain areas outside of existing cache areas?

 

I would really like to have some caches as mobile vehicles which can be disabled and repaired but still require SL incendiary to destroy.

Make them appear on the map if they are stationary and require them to go to a resupply point occasionally to top up.

Could be a bus or truck which people can spawn in.

Could appear on the map through a UAV type scan occasionally.

I see this as well. The insurgents will defend strongly through the match, and then the last few caches will spawn close to the US main where there isn't time to set up a defense before they are found and they fall quickly = game over.

Yes I do not find insurgency to be very fun, it was in PR but for some reason I think because the maps its different, maybe when we get choppers it will be better?

Been searching for this topic (not sure if there are any others on the same subject). With the A16 update out I just had to check if there were any INS maps with helicopters. The current update only provides helicopters on 4 maps including Gorodok, Kohat Toi, Tallil Outskirts, and Yehorivka map layers.

 

The INS layers are however limited to two maps with helicopters (Kohat and Gorodok) and this, in my opinion is a shame as it could have really revived the PR insurgency legends. 

 

When is this gamemode getting some love? It used to be one of the (PR) community favorites back in the day.

 

Some updates, some dedicated INS maps or (community) remakes of the PR ones (Black Gold, Dragon Fly, Gaza Beach, Iron RidgeKarbalaKorengal Valley, Lashkar Valley, Operation ArcherRamiel and many others). Fallujah West was part of the kickstarter project community vote back in October 2017 on which we only received news on in January 2019! It is a big project, I understand.

 

But the gamemode INS itself needs to be fixed in order to be playable and enjoyable for the community as it once was!

 

With this all said I would like to reach out the any community mappers working on new projects or PR remakes. If you would like to test your work on a gameserver with a group of testers feel free to contact me! That would mean Gary and Big Red would need to exist and maybe a civvie class and crazy spawn timers for blufor.

Exactly! Restrainers, shotguns, arresting abilities, the whole lot.

And animations for when you enter or leave a vehicle, opening a trunk to investigate and such. Imagine an apc speeding off with the backdoor open because they shot you when you opened it.

 

Patrolling small afghan villages with a heli stand by. searching AI villagers and stuff.

Well within reason and possibilities of the main game and engine of-course!  Not sure how AI villagers would fit in. But if its possible, sure why not. 

 

But the simplest stuff worked fine enough in PR with having the restrainers as a knife animation for "arresting", same with the shotgun.

 

All I am saying is that with a few small tweaks, vehicles and most of all maps or map layers this mode would really have potential.

I don't know if you've played PR's insurgency before but it has a whole lot more going for it. With VBIEDs and the civvie class you feel like there's an actual asymmetrical fight going on between the two teams instead of one team having APCs and tanks and the other not.
