Launcher (EasyAntiCheat) not working all of a sudden

Hi everyone,

I bought the game a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it so far (40 hours in).
Sadly, I cannot start the game since yesterday as I am having Easy Anti Cheat (EAC) issues.
The following picture is shown (language set to Dutch):

The EAC logs are not really informative:

Info] [LauncherProgress] 100%.
[Info] [LauncherProgress] 100%.
[Info] [LauncherProgress] 100%.
[Info] [LauncherFinished] EACAsyncResult: 4 Message: 'Failed to start the game'.
[Info] Exit button pressed by user.
[Info] Unloading the EasyAntiCheat library.
[Info] Destroying windows.
[Info] Exit.

I followed all instructions in the FAQ to the letter but to no avail.
Reinstalling EAC, the game or both does not work, neither does removing the game files in appdata.
I have turned off my fire wall and virus scanner. I have also contacted EAC.

Edit: I have not installed any mods or made any alterations to the game.

My guess would be that it has something to do with a Windows 10 update.
I am currently on: Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Build 17661.rs_prerelease.180428-1349.

I am using Insider Preview for development purposes.

Does anyone have a clue how to resolve this (other than reverting / reinstalling Windows 10)?

Thanks in advance!

Try repairing/reinstalling EAC in the game directory

under the drive Squad is installed, Go to: SteamLibrary/Steamapps/common/Squad/EasyAntiCheat Open EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe as admin and choose the repair option, then try run the game, if fails, choose to delete it and verify the game thru steam

Thanks for your reply. Sadly, I have already tried all of this.

I reverted my PC back to an earlier Windows Update. It seems to work (but now another Windows Update was installed and killed EAC again).
My assumption is that EAC is not compatible with the Insider Preview releases.
