I have huge FPS drops even on unpopulated servers
This week we have turned on the Unreal Engine's Distance Field Shadows.  This lets us give objects up to a kilometer away shadows, but has a significant performance impact.  We are taking steps the next few weeks to tune the shadow settings (which we believe may give us a performance boost overall), but at this time they are simply drop performance in exchange for extreme range shadows.

Distance Field shadows are only enabled when on Epic settings.  If you wish to turn these distance shadows off, simply set your shadow settings to High or lower and they will be disabled.

(DFS is currently disabled.)

See my thoughts on how to fill out the form here:

The forms of the "Ingame moderator application" is working now.

http://goo.gl/forms/JN6bJTGi2E

I am sure some of you, just like me, will ask "WTF is my Steam 64 digit ID and how does that damn converter work?". Here two YouTube Videos that explain it (vid one, vid two). If you watch both, it should be crystal clear what you need to do. If you are a technical person who needs to understand it from start to end 100%, read this on the Steam developer wiki.

What they mean by "Squad Pre-Alpha Account" is not clear to me, but I guess we Commanders can register now, even before we have gotten our keys, right? The field is not mandatory. Or should we wait? Can anyone confirm this? If they meant "key" they would have said so instead of using the term account, right? Never mind, I submitted mine. Here we go.

Rest is pretty clear, right? Name is real name, at least that is what I entered.

Right now the form looks like this (click to enlarge - applies only to the image below, not to your bodily parts, unfortunately :D ):

After submission, you get the following form. You can still edit your form afterwards. If you click "edit" and save the URL, you can go back to it later. Not sure whether that is a good idea, however. At some point Offworld will look at the data and editing makes no longer sense.

Edit: added explanation of the Steam ID and comments on some other fields.

Edit: added "confirmation page" after you submitted the forum.

Keybinding manual configuration information is out dated in pre-alpha version 7 ?? No such file exist as default.ini

It does also seem that the ingame configuration menu do not update the defaultinput.ini file on the directory mentioned in the Litos post. ?? Am I right? To answer to my self yes it doesn not update it.

I created a topic where I try to shed some light to this manual keybinding stuff.http://forums.joinsquad.com/topic/4526-all-about-rebinding-keys-at-pre-alpha/
