Crashing mid-game with no error message

Recommended Posts

Squad keeps crashing mid-game for me. It crashes to the desktop with no error message. I've tried a few different things and I'm still having the same issue. The game doesn't crash every single session but it's rather frequent.

Squad a-9.17.279.14514-4.16-SHIPPING

Computer specifications:

  • Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
  • Intel i5-3550
  • EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC GAMING, ACX 2.0 (Single Fan), 6GB GDDR5
  • Samsung 850 EVO
  • EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G3
  • 16GB of G.SKILL DDR3 1333MHz (PC3-10666)
  • ASUS P8H77-V

Things I've tried:

  • Verified integrity of game files
  • Cleared cached user data
  • Reinstalled/repaired DirectX
  • Clean install - followed the steps from this post
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled latest GPU drivers from NVIDIA website
  • Uninstalled GPU drivers and reinstalled them through Device Manager
  • Uninstalled GeForce Experience
  • No background processes are running at all - only have Steam (obviously) open when playing
  • Monitored temperatures with HWMonitor - temperatures are fine

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks.

I'm having the same issue, yesterday I played for 4 hours and the game ran smoothly, however this morning I can play for about 30 seconds in a match before the game crashes without an error message.

Looking at your log seems to be a lot of issues ith Particlesystem. Have you tried lowing your effects to low then upping slowly, see if that is it.  also search on DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE seems advice for vsync on.

Can you post actual log file for us to investigate further?

You don't run any background programs by any chance, right?

I only have two log files because I did a clean install of Steam and didn't save the other files.

If I recall correctly, the game never crashed when I first started playing 3 weeks ago. I was thinking about what factor(s) had changed and one of them was that I installed GeForce Experience, which has an overlay feature. I uninstalled it yesterday and played for a few hours and the game didn't crash. It's too early to say for sure whether it was causing the issue though. I don't have any other background programs running.

No, I haven't. Vsync is off in the Squad settings but could NVIDIA settings be overriding that?

1. Make sure you update your GPU driver thru Device Manager this time

2. Do you play Windowed? Borderless? Fullwindow?

2. Full screen

Update: I uninstalled my GPU drivers, restarted my PC, and reinstalled the drivers through Device Manager, restarted my PC again just to make sure, and then played Squad afterwards.

The game did not crash that session but it's still saying the same thing in the log:

Also, once again there are a ton of particle issues:
