ITC MODE

Recommended Posts

Any chance on some more details of how ITC is going to work prior to release.

  1. Is each zone going to controller only when friendlies are in/ around the zone.
  2. What ratio /number will cause contestation.
  3. Will a FOB stop zones from changing.
  4. Will this be like conquest where you are losing tickets to start.
  5. Is this mode going to be for other than just insurgency.
  6. Does a zone only have to have one connected edge, does having more sides give any benifit.
  7. Does the fact that zones generate resources will they supply fobs.
  8. Are the resources going to be random values to add to variety.

There's a few of questions that come to mind.

I have more.

The hex system looks pretty as a UI/map overlay but will limit the flexibility mappers have in making gaming spaces which are sensible.

  • For example a compound or military outpost may not fall within the bounds of a single hex so it cannot make a sensible and logical "objective".
  • Another example, Central Petrivka is split by a road. A sensible mapper will place the boundary line of 2 areas on this central road to encourage players to hold position. In a hex system this line is unlikely to match the regions of the map.

Will you consider a more freeform zone system at the cost of a pretty UI?

Its gonna be easy peasy...

Both sides are gonna meet in the middle and fight like dogs...

Who ever holds  the most zones. ..Wins.

Somethink like that.

Okey! I shall shutup now! :D

My main concern with it is that with the amount of players vs the amount of real estate on a typical map, which will likely increase, you'll see one zone going down, have to send two guys over to find and kill the one enemy player and that will happen endlessly throughout the match. Or, it'll lead to full squads being forced to ramble around hunting each other continually.

I expect there will be a requirement that only allows capture of zones which are attached to your main in some way. Is that correct?

Wasn't there recently a strategy game with a dynamic frontline system? I don't know the name of the game, but the system could fit into squad with some changes (for example does morale not play a role in squad)
