Release: Alpha 9.10

Recommended Posts

Hey Squaddies,

With the weekend ahead, we wanted to make sure you could get your range drills in. These hot, hot fixes can be found on a Steam client near you today!

  • Fixed a crash in the Engine.
  • Set soldier movement speed when playing in local to normal levels.
  • Fixed the ingame server browser showing an incomplete list. (If you still don't see all the servers, reduce pings/min in steam settings->ingame settings).
  • Changed ingame server browser to order by ping by default
  • Fixed ghost gunshots being heard at maproot.
  • Fixed placing SL markers on minimap stopping all inputs.
  • Fixed default admins.cfg listing deprecated permission level.

Offworld Out.

If the last release was 9.9...shouldn't this be 9.91? :P

Whatever. Great to see a dev team bringing our regular updates. Thanks guys :)

9.10 < 9.9 next one will be 9.100 ?

You don't know how versioning works. It's kind of a weird messy thing that doesn't follow the rules of numbers.

It does follow the rules of numbers as long as you take the . as a delimiter and not a decimal place. You can still have 9.9.1 as a version number which, for me, would be a hotfix for version 9.9

Most people assume it's a decimal - which is why it "doesn't follow the rules of numbers" as far as a casual person would assume. Yes, it's a delimeter.

Arduras is right, and I should have known better myself given that I work for a software company that uses the same logic for release numbers . For some reason I thought OWI had settled on a normal decimal numbering system for releases, but this was wishful thinking, hoping the next version was v10 :P But I just checked back and earlier releases followed the same logic, such as 8.11.
