OC that i5. I have a i5 2500k OCd to 4.2 Ghz from 3.3, 780 Gtx, 8GB of RAM and I run it pretty smoothly at 1920x1080 and everything epic except shadows on medium.

It will run, but yes, overclock that I5. What kind of motherboard do you have? The 7400 may be difficult to overclock due to the lack of unlocked multiplicator.

The 1070 is more than enough for 1080p / ultra (even with 125 or 150% supersampling) and can probably run the game in 1440p / ultra without issue, but the cpu may be short to reach 60fps on average without overclocking.

if you haven't purchased yet, the R5 1600 may be a good alternative. It's a tiny bit more expensive but the overall performance is good / great and it's very easy to overclock. (it's not running very hot and it's sold with an ok / good cooler, you can push it to ~3.7ghz)

Included screen shots because I know a lot of people doubt people can get good frames in this game with proper setups.

Settings (1920 x 1080 resolution):

63 to 70 FPS in combat with vehicles around:

64 FPS about halfway through a round:

67 FPS on a server with 72 people in it, only 4 minutes into round

About 60 FPS when on new map:

The overclock I did helped a lot. I have an i5-2500k which was 3.3Ghz stock. I had it water cooled but never really bothered OCing it since it ran everything I played pretty decently. After doing some research I discovered that an overclock to 4.2Ghz was safe so I went ahead and gave it a try. I went from averaging 40-45 FPS to having a consistent 60+. I am running on an older GPU also, the GeForce 780 GTX, not overclocked at all.

Here is a screen shot I took right before I did my overclock:

Unfortunately I didn't realize the steam FPS overlay did not show up in screen shots so I did not have stat fps on. I was getting around 40 FPS. You can see by the stat unit changes how much the overclock improved my render times.

For your information, you can't overclock the i5-7400 (unless I'm missing something). It sounds like a pre built PC with too few details - what kind of RAM, no SSD, which 1070 GPU, what motherboard etc..

If you let us know your budget people will gladly help you put together a rig. Usually a better performing and cheaper than a pre built.

OP don't buy that spec!

Get a better CPU for Squad and related CPU related games.

£1000 to £2000 is my budget but i wanted to buy that pre built so i could actually play some games other than the laptop i currently run on cant even rum MC...

So even the build would be good but if you could build something that could run this and potentially overwatch and BF4 would be very thankful.

For that budget you will get a much better rig! I would go with an I5 6600k/7600k so you can overclock it in the future.

EDT: Don´t forget to get an z170/z270 board for overclocking with it!

Here's a start, you can add or remove things you think you will need or not need to get a good perspective of what the final cost will be.

Hi!

I have i7-7700, giga gtx 1070 wf2 oc, 16 gb RAM and giga b250 mobo. Everything epic and on only the supersampling off and it runs only 30-60 fps. Is it OK? On Yt I have found videos with same vga and it runs 60+ fps...

What resolution do you run at? How fast is your 7700 running?

I think there is something wrong (unless you're trying to run the game in 4k). I get 50-70fps on 80 players map with a ryzen at 3.7ghz and a 1070 in 1080p... with supersampling at 125%, and the 7700k is performing better in gaming (especially when it come to games who require strong monothread power like squad). You should get better performances, try to clean the game cache and see if it improve the situation.
