FPS boost in Al Basrah?

Hey guys,

I just got Squad and have been testing the settings for quite a bit to get the best experience. I tried all my settings in the firing range where I was able to get steady 60 fps with SLI 750m's. I was really impressed. Unfortunately, when I went into a full server on al basrah and looked towards the city my FPS dropped to 20 and inside to 16. While I could maybe deal with 16fps, at that framerate, it fails to recognise mouse clicks, meaning when I try to shoot, only 1 of ever 3-4 clicks will actually pull the trigger.

Does anyone have some tips on how to improve FPS in cities?

I really dont want to have to refund this game

Please list your PC specs. That would be helpful in helping you. Also, 60 FPS in the firing range is not good unless you do have VSync on.

we need to know the following to help.

RAM

HDD

SDD

The resolution your playing at.

I am guessing your on a laptop, and the CPU is your issue?

Just join a low pop server when ya play it if you cant handle play large servers 25v25 servers are usually better. Also if you have an AMD processor get rid of it fast, I had one and they are trash with unreal engine games.

Oh dear.

4700MQ @ 2.4GHz

750M x2 in SLI

8GB Ram

750GB SSD.

I know its not great but it has to last for a little while so any general tips on a few performance improvements would be greatly appreciated.

I mean I can run Arma on decent settings at close to 60fps so I was surprised that I had such trouble running Squad.

Im by no means a hardcore PC player so im not looking for 120fps, a stable 30fps is enough for me since I play a fair amount on Xbox one too so I dont mind too much.
If I could achieve stable 30fps i'd be happy and satisfied.

My best advise is to have shadows on "medium", shadows eats frames.

Also Nvidia Control Panel helped me alot! Got at least 10fps.

Ok,

Here's some things to try.

1. NVIDIA control panel, turn to performance.

2. In game settings, turn everything to low or off play at the lowest resolution to suit your monitor/screen.

3. Test on firing range and full server's across a couple of maps.

4. Delete/disable XBOX App in windows

5. Turn Intel hyper-threading off.

6. re test as before
