Sense of Accomplishment

Recommended Posts

Regardless of game's current status, does the game ever make you feel accomplished after a round? If so, when and  how? If not, how could it?

Absolutely,

I am competitive, and not very good................so I am easily pleased.

For me the best feeling is when the Squad work well together, and win. It is even better when the whole side works well together!

Good comm's, solid tactics and working with each other is why I play Squad.

Every game with you bil... :x

After so many hours any round that's a battle, win or loose, still feels great.

Like sho says - Communication is key, the most satisfying experiences are the ones you share with others, be them your squad or team.

Best bit about Squad... There is still so much more to come.  B|

Yeah, all the time when I play well and the squad performs. Some games are less fun than others but I havn't had a boring game in Squad ever.

I love when a fire fight gets more intense, more rounds coming at you, getting pinned down.

I wouldn't mind hearing someone crank out the guitar rifs like in PR when the game ends lol

I miss the harmonica guy, that was some legendary dude playing a short tune at the end of PR games, I never found out who that was, but he always made me smile.

In this game valiant defeat is almost as fun as winning so I almost always feel fulfilled after a round.

Largely depends on the Squad leader, some rounds you just seem to walk around the map for 40mins narrowly avoiding any action or sometimes the SL keeps you defending a cap point that's totally out of play and then suddenly the round ends and the scoreboard appears, usually the first thought in my mind when that happens is "well that was a waste of time".

But if you have a Squad leader that understands how the different game modes work and keeps the Squad one step ahead of the enemy and keeps you in the action where it's needed then yeah at the end it makes you feel like your Squad did a lot to help the team.

Nope not really. I really wish they add something in the future, like stats for medics and %accuracy on scoreboards. would also love some sort of a rank system that awards wins etc. i would absolutely love to have a SL vote system,  that would allow people to rank their SL at the end of each round, awarding him with some sort of visible rank / icons / medals that others can see. that would be glorious.

I've always thought that too, currently you have no idea what your SL is like and therefore you have no clue whether your game is going to be good or just another walk around then scenery.

Somewhat. I mean, there are rounds where I'm in a good squad with a good SL and everyone is clicking and that feels good, win or lose, attacking or defending. However, it mostly feels like a ticket grind where whoever can rush around the map and place spawn points in the best place wins. I know, I know, it's early. I look forward to more minigames within it, where you can fill specialist roles that can help the team as a whole, logi, transport, mortars etc. More overall strategy and less flinging bodies at caps.

And this will be seen by heresy to some, but many of my most memorable gaming moments have been the end of TIMED rounds where one team launches a final frenzied attack against a desperate defense and whoever controls that last cap will win the round. I'm not advocating that a timer should be added to the current game modes, but it'd could be fun as a new one. Either tickets or timer ends the round, whichever runs down first.

One of the reasons the tension is so high with a timer is that both sides know that the end is nigh, with the game currently, all you know is that your tickets are burning up, you have no idea how close it is. Obviously, you know when you're getting wrecked, but I had a match yesterday where the other side seemed to be the stronger, held one more cap than us,  was defending well, by all measures was winning, yet we surprisingly won by just a handful of tickets. If that tension had been there, it would have added great fun to the round. I know that not knowing the status of the other team is realistic, but I think it's worth considering for gameplay, players will adapt their strategies depending on the info at hand. Getting steamrolled but the other team who blew through their tickets in doing so? Everyone sits and defends to get them to chew up more, then counter attack.
