The UE4-Squad Game has crashed and will close

Recommended Posts

" 2. If the above option doesn't work, you might have an issue with your DirectX install, to repair / reinstall it browse to the Squad Local Install (See the "Browse Local Files" button in the picture above) and navigate into the "_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010" folder, then run the DXSETUP.exe as an administrator. Follow the prompts and you should be able to repair it and hopefully resolve those pesky crashes. "

Tried this and still crashing

let's try to get some fresh logs and crashdumps:

  1. goto:
    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Squad\Saved\Logs
delete all files and folders there.
  2. reproduce the crash.
  3. zip the log folder and upload it
  4. share link here

I think i fixed it *knocks on wood*

Went from Borderless to fullscreen and no crashes for a few games now.

So if anybody playing on a laptop using HDMI to a tv as a secondary might want to stick to fullscreen.

I thought i usually left  it on fullscreen but it could have changed on its own with the updates.

EDIT: Still crashing

damn. I was hoping that fixed it for you.

In my opinion, the thing is as follows:
It is unlikely that a "Squad software bug" is causing your crashes. Simply for the reason, that every day hundreds/thousend of people play the game without having this crash.
Therefore I am uncertain wether the update helps in your case.

My best guess: it is a driver problem on "your end".
Another more unlikely possibility is that you just had bad luck at the "silicon lottery".
Does this gaming laptop have the possibility to downclock the GPU a bit? - You might want to try it. (Another user had to downclock the GPU in order to prevent it from crashing.)

Or it is someshing entirely different....

Anyways, I suggest you follow the steps in my post above in order to gather more information (log & crashdump) about your crash.

Pretty sure my GPU's are downclocked as they are powered from my CPU which is underclocked with intel XTU ( I do this to keep temps down)

The game still crashes regardless if i'm running it underclocked or at stock setting with intel xtu.

Here are my log files for you to check out:
