Random Fatal Error

Keeps crashing Fatal Error... unplayable for me. Sometimes I can play only 5 min. and sometimes around 20 min. And sometimes 2 rounds after each other but never longer than this.

Don't buy early access (Alpha) games if you can't handle bugs like this. It will be fixed in the next hotfix, in the end of the month (Maybe).

A game should be playable even in Alpha.

Besides that no one is replying of dev. I send log files, so at least expect answer, or are they all on vacation or something?

Good job v7.2 still crashing, nothing changed, v6 was working perfectly fine....

It's a patch man.... not a cure all.  They just introduced probably the largest addition to the game so far and it will take some time to hammer out during this alpha process.  It's not as clean cut as building something physical, where you can see something break and know why it broke.

 

We've been here before after the EA release and it all got better.  Same thing will happen again.

I am also getting Fatal Errors on new game. Soon as the new match starts not but 3 seconds in the game crashes with the Fatal Error issue. I was expecting more out of this, being one of the most different Alpha Games I've played. Im hoping this doesn't END UP LIKE OTHER ALPHA GAMES WHERE THE DEVS DONT FREAKING CARE ANYMORE!!!!!! Please dont soil your reputation by not finishing this game. Im with you till the end but if this doesn't change I will no longer support you.

They have put out 2 hotfixs in the last 2 weeks, just bear with it.  nothing like battlefield 2 1.4 and four year wait. You ranting wont help anything. And as a new post too.

Who told you they wouldn't care any more?

We are just at the beginning of vehicle implementation and you're already concluding they won't keep working on the game.

The forums have a lat chatter and people trying different things which you can search for.  It's one of the good things about a game like Squad, is very active forums and reddit.  The developers may not reply to you specifically, but be assured they are working on it.  Here's one of the top few results.  You can also try a complete reinstallation of the game, try updating drivers, removing any third-party stuff you're running, etc.  But most everyone gets disconnected after not more than a couple rounds.  We just reconnect.

I hate to add this because it doesn't seem like it will be taken very well, but the vibe for a while now on refunds is there are none anymore once you get past the Steam policy (2 hrs, 2 wks).

Thanks for the log files. The devs have been on a (much-needed) holiday, as you have been able to read in the august recap, and some of them are slowly getting back to a normal schedule. Even though there was no mention of the crash in the recap, I can assure you that for anyone who is able to assist, it is the top priority. They believe to have found at least part of the cause, but haven't found the actual part where it goes wrong just yet. New builds are still coming out and are being tested by the internal and community testing groups, and although some crashes have been fixed, the most common one seems to still be in.

 

And it's frustrating, but it'll remain priority number 1 until it's fixed, simple as. We'd all rather have seen it fixed two weeks ago, but such is the fun of engine updates breaking previously unproblematic bits of your game.

 

I do believe the devs have enough logs of 7.2 (because crashes are relatively frequent) and are therefore currently focusing on the crashes that remain in the current test build. If you need a break, take it, and feel free to come back when it's fixed. Or keep playing. Just know that as frustrating as it is for you, it is for the devs, for this is their baby. They just needed a bit of time off to rest from the constant long days before A7 release (and after, for the hotfixes), and to give their personal life some time as well.

 

We'll get there, eventually. :-)

Yes same, after map change after about 1/2 min. Seems like almost everyone crashes from the server.

I think disconnecting after end of match helps.

The only crash I get extremely rarely is the .50 cal sound crash. Seems to happen especially with a Humvee.
