Applying To Join The Development Team

Recommended Posts

If you are interested in working at Offworld Industries, please read through the entire post.

We are not currently looking to fill any positions, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't apply! If you think you are an exceptional candidate who could succeed at Offworld, we encourage you to apply.

For any general developer we expect:

  • A positive attitude when receiving criticism.

  • An extensive portfolio of previous work.

  • A level of professionalism.

  • A number of years experience developing video games.

We are particularly interested in and primarily recruiting developers who:

  • Have worked in any of the above positions at a commercial game studio

  • Have a high level of experience working with the Unreal Engine (have worked a great deal with both UE4 and UDK/UE3, or even further back if possible)

  • Have extensive knowledge and experience working with video game shaders and PBR

If any of the above is true, please highlight that fact and explain it in depth.

If you think you fit the bill, please send an email to [email protected] with your application. If we think you might be a good fit we will respond with further instructions. We will leave the format of the application up to you, but please be sure to include the following information:

  • The position you best fit.

  • The number of years you have been developing video games.

  • As many samples of your work as you can produce, in particular highlight what you feel is your best work.

  • What engines you have worked on, and in particular how much experience you have in each and what you did on each of them.

  • What game projects or studios you have worked for, and the time spent there.

  • What, if any, level of familiarity or experience you have with Project Reality.

  • Why you would like to be a developer.

  • What your current job and age is and what level of availability you will have.

  • Whether you would be willing to work full time for pay in the near future if the opportunity was offered.

Please note that if we don’t get back to you right away it doesn’t necessarily mean we won’t in the future. We are only looking to bring on 2-3 more developers before funding occurs, and in very particular positions, so even if you don’t hear something this time around, we may still look to bring you on board after we are funded and have some more flexibility.

Please note that all the above is appropriate only to serious applications to be a developer. If you have already contacted any of us about being a developer, you should still apply in the manner given above (again only if you feel you could fit into one of the above roles).
