[solved] FATAL ERROR when browsing servers

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have windows 7 installed on my computer.

In the beginning (first 2 months) since squad was released I had no issues with playing the game.

It worked pretty well to be honest.

Now 2 months ago, I first noticed there where only a few servers to choose from (about 2/3) that popped up in the server browser (in game).

Now 1 month ago I starting to get FATAL ERROR message, and the game is shut down immediately when I try to browse servers (in game).

I don't know where to find log files or any could anyone point me out where to find these.

I know I have to search in the steamapp direactory but yeah where are these damn log files....

I want to provide data for the dev so they can fix it, I know a lot of others are having the same issue.

I tried reinstalling, and steam integrity etc. etc. nothing works.

Thanks.

Even though you said you have checked your files for integrity, please follow these steps regardless:

1. Check for how much free disk space your drive has where Squad is installed/where your steam library resides. Make sure it has at least 12GB of free space! If you had less, proceed to Step 2

2. Check game files for integrity, If nothing was found, Proceed to Step 3

3. Go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Squad\Saved\Logs\, open the file Squad.log and post the contents in this thread.

Hello, thanks this fixed my problem.

Any idea how this could happen / when this is being updated so others who do not know this fix can play again?
