Project Reality: Arma 3 Development Update (June 2016)

Played last beta test.

It's not a mod,just a mission.You just need ArmA3 to play it - that means,it have very high chances to be popular among ArmA community.

Bad thing - last beta test was laggy.Probably a server issue,but fact is fact.It must be 60-80 players per server without any lags.

Cool! Thx for honest remark. Keep us posted if you go to any more beta test. This is really interesting.

It is indeed a mod. Just because you don't have to install anything doesn't mean the server is not modded. So yes, it is a server side mod + mission framework.
We fixed the hitching a day after btw. Did a performance test with a couple of QA testers and resolved the issue pretty quick.

Tanoa version of PR is in the works.

Btw we have another Playtest on the 30th July, probably around 1900 GMT again.
This time we even have some Bohemia officials joining us.
Fobs are currently being implemented aswell as major bug fixes.

Can't remember the player count, if at all mentioned!?

 

I might gone OTT on the Optimization part part (still early days),but, Bohemia Interactive where apparently "Well Impressed" and they offered employment/hire to some BD developers!?!...

 

Definitely the players playing at the time were impressed by the performance...

Performance might be helped by the fact of the map they are using. This map is in no way comparable to the scale of altis ect..

I'm really looking forward to PR: Arma 3.  I remain hopeful it could be a great replacement for another game that I've been less than impressed with.

 

I think using the 20 km2  Stratis is a fine start.  Maybe once PR:A3 matures, we'll be able to utilize other terrains from the Arma universe, or even custom ones on servers.

That has pretty much nothing to do with PRA3 at it's core. It's a CUP feature.

Playcount was around 40-50.

They were joking but BD didn't really get it. Also we're not BD developers. We're an DRK independent group of actual professionals working on this in our free time. The team consists of software engineers, game developers and designers.
