V6 MG emplacement, how it works.

Recommended Posts

Looking for some more info on the MG emplacement mechanics. Please add info.

Known:

It is expensive, 500 points, with the new rate these points are regained this makes it quite valuable once built.

When in use it uses build points.

It can be damaged by explosives.

Limit of 3 per side per map.

You can't have a conversation nearby while it is firing :D

Need more info:

When damaged is it repaired by digging or does it need to be replaced?

If there are no build points what is the reaction of the weapon? Will it fire?

We had 2 emplacements on sumari insurgency (AMAZING! Insurgents lost by 24 tickets but kept our final cache, just. Exodus 26/5/2016), they were in heavy use but took some damage, they did not fire and could be reloaded infinitely with no change. There were build points available and no visible damage/effects present.

Not sure if this was a bug or we just were not doing it right, several players tried to use the weapons without success.

Just now, Mekatataku said:

isn't it limited to 3 per FOB? That is two MG nests and 1 tripod?

Mek is right, 2 x bunkers 1 x Tripod per FOB.

Ammunition is taken from the FOB Ammo counter upon reload.

It can overheat with spirited use.

1 shot-to-incapacitate

I assume in real life that would be the case as well.

They really need to be placed properly. I was experimenting with them last night with mixed results. On Chora, we placed one on a roof over looking Packers (compound on the hill, just west of the cap point) and it was highly effective in supporting an attack. Nothing inside of Packers could so much peek onto the rooftops to see where we were coming from. But anything in the fields could have sneaked up on the gun without much of a problem. It's something we all need to find the new meta for.

Was an epic round suds... What an introduction to V6 that was.

It's left me like a strung out crack fiend today at work... I need more Sumari INS... 'i got a cheeseburger man'!

I watched one of the HMG bunkers get by RPG after RPG.  The noise, the effects, the intensity.  I won't forget that round in a hurry.

GG.

i think the price of 500 points would be ok with the old rate but with the new rate you even need time to build an ammo crate first...

this update really changed the way fobs worked until now, you cant close ways for the enemy, it takes ages to build, in these times you are not able to defend or attack an objective unless you build the fob on the objective.

until you got the points to build them you can normally move to the next objective and it will be useless where it is. just takes tooooo long
