What is your CPU/GPU usage in squad? (V5)

Recommended Posts

Curious to see what peoples system usage is in game (full servers). My usage currently on my GPU is around 45% and CPU about 25% (which seems low to me). My FPS on the other hand sits at about 60 FPS. How about you guys?

Usage:

GPU: ~45-50%

CPU:  ~25-35%

Framerate:  ~60fps

System:

  • CPU: I7 4790k 4.4ghz
  • GPU: EVGA GTX 980
  • MB: Asus Maximums VII Hero
  • RAM: 32g Corsair Vengeance 2400mhz
  • HDD: 256 Samsung SSD
  • Monitor: 1080p 144hz Asus monitor

In Game Settings:

  • Resolution: 1080p 144hz Fullscreen
  • Vsync: Off
  • Res Scale: 100%
  • AA: FXAA High
  • View Disantace: Epic
  • Shadows: Epic
  • Shadow Quality: Epic
  • Shadow Res: 2048
  • AO: On
  • AO Levels: Auto
  • AO Scale: 1.0
  • Post Processing: Epic
  • Eye Adapt: On
  • Motion Blur: Off
  • Lens Flair: Off
  • Textures VRAM: 4GB+
  • Effects: Epic

Edit: Just want to compile some data here for the community or devs to use. Also if possible post your info in the same format as above so that we all can easily read it! The forum tools make it easy (you can copy paste and edit as needed). Thanks!

Edit 2: After running my game with DSR at 1440p my GPU usage is now at 99%

Edit 3: So i switched back to my native resolution of 1080p and my GPU usage is now at 50%.. strange.

Edit 4: Some more testing... It seems GPU usage at least is map dependent. Jensons range for example, was using 99% of my GPU regardless of resolution. Some maps have different usage than others. Some use 99% others only 50-70%.

But how in which frequency are you running your CPU? Like I have I5-4690k 3.5Ghz, but running it (according to software) at 4.1Ghz.

4.4ghz stock OC. Ill post that up.

Silly question here but what are you guys using to monitor your usage? Iv heard people can't get overlays to work in game because of the anti cheat.

Asus ROG G750JH Gaming Laptop

Usage:

GPU: ~40-50%

CPU:  ~35-45%

Framerate:  50fps (I use an FPS limiter and it rarely drops below and certainly no big dips), certain maps I can get 60fps fixed but I don't bother to change the limiter now and just stick to 50fps for everything, helps my old eyes and is perfectly playable. All tested on 72 slot, full servers.

System:

  • CPU: i7 4700HQ 3.6ghz turbo (it would seem this CPu is restricting me as opposed to GPU)
  • GPU: GTX 780m 4GB VRAM
  • MB: Asus ?
  • RAM: 32g 1600mhz
  • HDD: SSD
  • Monitor: 1080p 24 inch TN set to 50HZ refresh rate

In Game Settings:

  • Resolution: 1080p borderless

How are y'all's GPU usage so low?  You should be in the 90's.  O.O

Weird eh? Sometimes my GPU use is up in the 90% but only when I muck about with settings but am not paying attention. It's not an issue as at my normal settings it is as reported above etc.

But if I could offload stuff to GPU and gain CPU bandwidth I think my FPS would increase which would be sweet, I run Physix on GPU via NVIDIA control panel as well to try and help CPU load.

Usage:

GPU: 98-99%

CPU:  67% max I noticed

Framerate:  30-60 (vsync on)

System:

  • CPU:  i5 2500
  • GPU:  GTX 670
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Monitor:  1920X1080

In Game Settings: everything epic, res scale 100%

do you think that better CPU will give me more FPS? I think about upgrade my GPU to GTX 970.

I would say upgrading the CPU in this case would give an FPS boost, the i5 2500 turbo is 3.7GHz right? Best thing is to take vsynch off, and use an fps limiter and see how high you can get steady as the game seems to cap out for most of us around 60-65fps anyhow.

Also test on full 72 slot servers.

and how can I limit FPS without vsync? I dont know... and if I limit FPS on 60 with vsync off, I will not have screen tearing?

sorry for bad English :)

I use MSI Afterburner mate, rivatuner is the bit that can do that. I like to limit fps this way as I can play at my exact monitors refresh rate (which I set to 50 currently) with none of the input lag or big drops to 30fps from vsynch happening.

I cant stand the big drops so find my most stable fps and set it to that, better on my old eyes for long sessions as well.

i.e absolutely no fps spikes for me, just 50fps all the time!

my goes up to 90 when im running 1440p DSR. But, its also map dependent. Some maps ill get 60-70% and others 90% at my native res. I was just playing on sumari and my gpu usage was at 85-99% and notice my VRAM usage would creep up as the game went on (mem leak?) but my cpu usage would be around 25-30%. Then the map switched to Chora, and my GPU usage was at 40-50% and my cpu at 30-40%. I really dont know what to make of this.
