Computer Specs: Okay to play? How well?

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

Definitely considering purchasing the game (probably even helping out with the Kickstarter) however my computer doesn't work too well with other games such as Insurgency (although I can run games like ArmA III on lower settings with a decent frame rate). I'd just like to know how this game would work with the specs I have before decide to buy the game:

Processor - Intel® Core i7-3632QM CPU @ 2.20GHz

Video Card 1 - Intel® HD Graphics 4000

Video Card 2 - AMD Radeon HD 7730M

Memory - 8.1 GB

Operating System - Microsoft Windows 8 (build 9200), 64-bit

Thanks!

Looks like an AIO Screen PC or an Laptop

In my own view your better off with an 800 to 1000 buck Desktop PC (ATX/mATX/ITX) then a 2000-3000 laptop

Here is an compare of that onboard ATI/AMD 7730M with the AMD 285 ITX video card

(The 285 ITX is about the same performance as the GTX580)

I  suggest playing this game on MEDIUM at 720p with DOP off , Vsync off , motion blur off

Here is some footage of myself playing the early pre pre pre alpha build on my PC

My PC:

CPU:   Intel 3.3ghz Xeon 1230v3     - http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Xeon-E3-1230V2-vs-Intel-Core-i7-3632QM

RAM:   8 gig Kingston HyperX DDR3

HDD:   Intel 520S 120 gig SSD

GPU:  Gigabyte GTX580 1.5gig OC (Factory OC) Windforce edition

Yup, unfortunately (because I'm back and forth between school and home) I'm stuck with the laptop I've got now and will be for some time.

Looks like a good deal though, definitely considering something like that when it's time for a new computer. Thanks for the speedy reply by the way!

Sounds like you should take some trips to sell plasma...heck, maybe even a kidney :)

Not the best PC specs in the world there, I wouldn't be expecting any miracles when playing SQUAD. :)

What kind of performance could i expect here as i dont want to pay for a game if i need to upgrade to heavily as I have just built this system in the last 3 months.

I had an Intel HD 4000 as well, it was hell, couldn't run many games, and the ones it could only on the lowest settings, so I feel you. I highly suggest building your own PC, you can probably run Squad with decent FPS and settings on a $400-$500 rig. I built a rig especially for Squad for $800, got a nice GTX 970.
