Samogon, a bit off-topic here, but looking at your responses I think you might like Escape from Tarkov! :D

EFT makes people, whose PP Bizon-2 has damage like an AK-74 ))) Contract Wars — this game. I choise SQUAD instead EFT, but I'm patriot.

Will helicopters fly realistically? Because, although this is funny, I hope Squad's helicopter physics won't be like this. Especially with the BF4 style quick ass helicopter takeoff.

I hope they fly somewhat realistically.

I don't want DCS levels of control or anything but I think it is far more interesting for everyone involved if they fly with the same restrictions as in reality.

I think we might be seeing widespread optics for the Russians as a stop gap measure until the more specialised gear is developed. At least that's my hope, but people might get shitty if they've been given scopes then lose them.

i think in op he said that instead of giving russian riflemen optics, keep the iron sights just allow for more svd marksman rifles. i think thats a great idea if that is more realistic as the op says it is

I thought this was real, until I saw the Fog Machines and lights in the background :( Just another military - fake PR stunt

Still would be a great wallpaper, however

not as unrealistic as you might think... not saying its 100% but you will be surprised what those big buggers are capable of.

Ha, finally found a topic so I don't have to create one.

I'm not an expert on infantry kit, so this is more of a discussion topic, but I have several things that sort of disturb me a little bit.

  • Lack of Brezentuha (tarp) on soldiers. There are several accessories made out of tarp that could (should) be added. First and foremost is the RPG round carry-bag. Milita already has it modeled. Before you ask, I have looked hard and I've not found any in EMR-Leto or even any type of camo. RPG operator carries the one for two rounds, while assistant carries the one for three rounds. Naturally, the optic pouch (with a repair kit) is also made out of tarp, and is also carried by the soldier. In fact a lot of optic pouches come shipped with a pure tarp cover. Tarp "general" pouches really appear everywhere.
  • 6B23(-1) is fairly seen and widespread body-armor. However, perhaps a couple of soldiers should have the EMR-Leto digital patter over theirs? They aren't rare either, even for soldiers on airbase guard duty like that picture. Also, if no 6B23's with digital desert cammo exist, so that would have to be either regular or EMR pattern as well.
  • No one has a canteen, not even in the desert, even though the rig allows for it and comes with a pouch for it.
  • I haven't been able to identify a pistol holster for those kits that have it. Is it modelled?

Check The Weapon Thead, starts from page 7.There was some your ideas, which been already suggested. But looks like they're forgotten.

1)Agree.This tarp bags are standart for weapon. So for example if solder have AK,they have this bag, even if they use harness or vest.As for RPG bag - nothing replace this yet.BTW - also in wide usage sidors(As utility bag,in combat used rare) and water-resistan "ponchos" aka plash-palatka.

2)Well,27th Brigade even used 6B12M or 6B13 as well as flora and EMR 6B23.My unit had flora 6B23 only at training company. All rest - EMR 6B23.But this was suggested.

3)And again - yes.Canteen for everyone,shovels for troops,mapcase for officer.Maybe gasmask bags.

4)Could say even more - add a makarovs. This is standart service pistol for officers. All rest - used by special forces.

I've served in Security unit.

This armor vest aren't personnel equipment. They're usually stored in guards house for actuall watchmans/guardsmans.

I've translate and add minor unimportant for game details.

Agree with RPG bags, holsters, canteens, flora vest and helmet covers for desert models. Other things are not so neccessary to soldiers in combat.

Also, I don't think that the marksmen kit should have a pistol as regular MSV Marksmen don't get anything other then their primary weapon issued to them. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Just give the marksman more ammunition and stopping power.

Stopping power is very much a point of debate, but I recall five mags being the standard allocated loadout that comes with the SVD.

Yeah its standard, but would you carry only 50 rounds into battle?

6sh112 in sniper configuration includes 4 VSS/SVD double-mag pouches, i.e. at least 80 rounds.

I think the answer is "it depends". With a meeting engagement with as much maneuver as battles in squad, having five mags doesn't sound that far off.

Oh, didn't know that. I stand corrected.

With default kit - 4 magazines and 40 rounds in standart bag.For Airborne - a little bit easier, they have extra pockets on RD backpack.

But usually nobody used this.Every harness able to fit at least 8 mags.

Actually pistol is personall weapon of officers, but exists exceptions.I saw feldjager sergeant(woman) with a pistol.

If we shall go into this - even squad leader shouldn't have pistol, because they're usually junior sergeant/sergeant.Sniper is private/efreitor(Corporal?).

Yeah, I was thinking about that too, and I agree that pistols for SL's need to go.
