Insurgent tactic that needs to be added.

Recommended Posts

In Afgahistan, the Taliban will hide behind a pile of rocks with a large rock on top of their gun and it makes it really hard for them to be seen. There is still a small hole they can see out of.

Also, buildings have bullet holes everywhere, which makes awesome sniper positions, the buildings in Squad look like they never seen combat.

Watch Syria war footage and see how effective they are. Very.

If there is more trash that is added to the game and insurgents could place IEDs in the trash would be cool.

Cows and goats and chickens in the compounds.

good thing the Taliban isn't in this game then hey? lol

IEDs are most likely def comming as they were in PR.
Cows / Goats / Chickens highly unlikely, need to program AI and thats puts loads on the server.

It's a game still, not a Sim, so there won't be effective Non-Cbt or other "effects".

As for concealment, in my experience, bot IRL and in game, that's quite good so far. You can (if you're smart) conceal your self completely (if the players don't start messing with resolution and graphics as to bypass the vegetation) and lay awesome ambushes by simpy staying in a Corn field.

So far Mudwalls are pretty accurate in what you would find in A-stan according to people who were there and who have tried the game. The Mudwalls in the Stan have two layers, dried mud bricks and then a Parchin of mud over them to stabilize and seal them from the rare shower of rain.

So if you want to make "holes" everywhere you'd end up rubbling the whole wall by having running cracks

In Syria as most buildings are Concrete, Baked/Fired bricks, Stone you can open much more fire "holes" as the structural strength is on bearing columns and inflows. Also, having 50 fire holes per building for basically company sized battles is not really necessary and they enter in the big picture only in VCQB like assault and investment of FOB's, Cap Points etc.

IED's however need to be finely tuned, because right now there are A LOT of Choke points in many maps. For instance taking Lilas estate will become impossible if Chora becomes Insurgency material. If there's a Cache on Mullins or Riverside maps then a couple of IED will both wreck havoc and serve as the old Sniper Tripflares in PR. Basically a Grenade BT in a field choke point is probably at least two KIA. Bigger IED's will really break the Balance if there's no Vehicles for the US.

Also please APERS mines for Regular armies. A MON 50/Mk18 mine will add far more tension to the game and make assaulting points far more interesting.

We need deployable Insurgent rock bunkers! :D

They got tunnels everywhere too under those half destroyed buildings. How do you think they hide from aerial bombs and drones.

There's very little tunnelling in Afghanistan, for many reasons, one of them is that there is very rarely a stabilizing structure for the compounds, so digging down isn't always good for the home, they have small holes where they hide shit, from poppy to human beings. Also hiding from bombs isn't exactly super difficult, a lot of Wadis will help you do do that, provided that you like to get yourself covered in goat and donkey dung.

There's a lot more in Syria and there were underground caches in Iraq along with some civil defense tunnels. And in Ukraine they used the sewers.

If we had positions to shoot from like that then bullet penetration through objects would have to be a big thing. I made a video for Arma a while back testing the different effects of what each caliber does on standard walls. A wishlist item for me would be something as complex.

There are thick walls in which shouldn't be penetrated. It's to bad, that the man made obstacles don't have a breaking/degrading point after so many bullets, RPGs, grenades.

oh cmon, the op is talking about how houses/structures in a warzone have swiss cheese walls--filled with holes--that are used by insurgents as fighting positions; that the current pristine condition of the walls of houses/structures in Squad's environment are lacking this and affecting gameplay. its a valid point not something to laugh at...

First picture baked/Fired brick very tough with the right mortar. Found in most of the civilized world.

Second, Sun bathed, mud brick very resilient when isolated properly, but nearly not as tough or rigid than the first one. But very cheap.

That's the actual difference. Because of that, most set up's in game are very well made. Try making a hole in an Afghan mud wall, you'll see what happens.
