Forum Rules 07/06/2016Introduction The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party. Section I: Posting Rules §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users. §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with. §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time. §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics, etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal. §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest. §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs. §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense. §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
§9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
§10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge. §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings. §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed. Section II: Reporting & Moderation §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments. §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules. §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly. §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

Button clicks on the initial menu before loading suffer from the 50% to the right problem. Noticed that anytime I tried to press a button it was 50% to the right while in game on the UI menu. When trying to click buttons on the UI menu in game led to me having to move 50% to the right to actually select it. Same with the spawn locations, it took me about 5 minutes to figure out where the spawn actual button was in respect to the actual spawn icon. When selecting spawn points on the map i cannot do it while the map is entirely zoomed out. I have to zoom all the way in and find the spawn location a little bit to the right (basically where the squad leader '****' exists is where I can find the spawn point) I tried recording the menu screen problems to fraps but it tracked my mouse over the buttons perfectly without error. I have had nVidia DSR factors set to 1.20% when I found the problem, but when setting DSR back to 100% (disabling DSR) the 50% to the right button problem still remained. After returning super sampling in game from 1.5% to 1% video settings, problem still exists. Since fraps doesn't seem to capture the problem I was going to add a video from my cell, but it's battery just crashed and im tired... SO im going to add a paint image instead. I made some squares of where the button clicks actually hit versus the screen displayed loaction. Field of view is at 100 AA is off Im going to re-install the game and report back with the details. Specs: Vid - gtx 980ti x 1 cpu - i76850k mem - 32gb 2133 ddr4 OS - W7 x64 Wish i had some more information. I like the new upgrade btw!
Fatal Error: [File:d:\d\pipelines\owi-squad-release-a-8\U\Engine\Source\Runtime\Windows\D3D11RHI\Private\D3D11Util.cpp] [Line: 176] Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A006-'HUNG') I finally found the error that I think has been freezing my game and making it so I couldn't alt-tab out of it without doing a force-shutdown on my computer. I was able to exit out of the application and then close it by using ctrl+alt+delete (I don't know why I hadn't tried that before lmao)
Hello, I'm still experiencing bad FPS value even with the V8 update. In a 72 slots server (almost full i think), i got 25-30 FPS with drops at 15 FPS when a there is an explosion nearby. My config : i5 6600K R9 390 (8Gb) - Drivers up to date 8 Go RAM Windows 10 anniversary My graphic settings : http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/188416901575941767/C85858DE91D46C6953E33F3BD0F3EB8D40802034/ I don't understand this situation because i see friends with 970 GTX who got 60-70 FPS. Secondly, I'm also experiencing this error just after i took this screen shot ^^ : http://tof.canardpc.com/view/8b506f12-03f2-40ab-bb46-0a9b8797471d.jpg Finally, I got a black screen between the Sqaud initial logo and the keyboard setting page (at the start). Normally this black screen is quit quick (~10-20 sec) but sometimes it can last forever. I don't know how to reproduce this.
I noticed an issue with the sound after death, once you respawn you still have the muffled sound you had in your knocked out/bleeding out screen for quite a while. Only had it after latest version and everyone else i played with had the same issue after respawning in. Makes spawning and getting into action quite horrible since you cant really make out where the shots come from. Version a-8.6.97.
First of all, I LOVE how sharp the shadows look in 8.4. I don't know why, but since like ~V6 they were just very blobby, especially those from playermodels. However, it seems the shadow for your character's head is missing when you look at the ground- anybody else seeing this? EDIT: I just went into firing range and my shadow is a blob again, with epic shadow settings like I've always had them... does it depend on the map you play on?
Hello, everybody. After Squad v8 update, game started crashing, when enemy kills me, or im getting shot. win 7 x 64 Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHz, 3201 МГц, ядер: 4, логических процессоров: 4 Random Access Memory 8, 00 gb I was trying to fix it by using this link https://support.microsoft.com/ru-ru/kb/968003 Did not work. I think windows reinstall will fix it 100%, but, maybe somebody knows, how to fix it without using such radical methods? Thanks for replying.
Gigabyte Wind-force GTX 1070 Intel core i7 4770k @3.9 GHz 16GB of Corsair RAM 1600 MHz Firecuda 2TB SSHD Currently getting 40-50 FPS on large maps on full load servers(1920x1080),fairly disappointing at times. Could my processor be the bottleneck or the ram? pls halp :C
Just thought I'd throw out my first impressions after playing a few rounds of Alpha Version 8. Among my favorite new features is the ground shake effect explosions now have, it's very immersive and makes explosions rather more frightening. I personally find myself backing further away from them. I like the slight variation in the M249, the modern one didn't feel quite right in the hands of an Eastern European militia anyway. The next step, of course, is updating the icons for the US and Militia to reflect the newer and older variations of the 249 respectively. Overall I think the new lighting is a great improvement, though in sunny map schemes I find it has a few odd areas, perhaps too bright. Not sure. I'm in love with "cloudy" map schemes, and I think all that overcast sky needs now is more wind wound effects and some rain I like having the call to prayer - particularly that it emanates from loudspeakers - and I think it's good that it only sounds in brief instances and not continually so as not to get too monotonous, however I think it could go for a few seconds longer. Just my opinion, it seems to cut off a bit too soon. The crawl animation is to die for, and I'm glad to see more sway when stamina is low. I really enjoyed the host of new sounds I heard... and FINALLY I can hear bandage when a medic's reviving me! And then we come to performance... before, I ran everything at low/off for 30-50 FPS. Now I run everything at epic/on for 30-50 FPS, save for super sampling, which I disable (even 1.25 kills up to 20 FPS). I'm pleased to say the least I may drop to 25 if there's all kinds of shit flying around me and I'm in smoke, but whatever. Really looking forward to seeing how optimization improves from here! In all my eagerness I didn't get to try the rocket techie or the NSV (didn't play any layers with the rocket, got one-shotted when I tried to get on an NSV), but I'm sure they don't disappoint either! Thank you devs! I wonder what V9 holds?! >queue hype<
I've been getting pretty frequent crashes since the V8 release. Here's what happens: I'm playing normally and then the game freezes, when I try to alt-tab all of that happens is my mouse appears on the screen over the frozen game and the screen flickers as I move it around. The only way I've found to fix it is doing a hard restart. I don't want to damage my computer by doing this so much. Specs: GPU: GTX 1080 STRIX OC CPU: i7 6700k @4.6 OC'd RAM: 32GB Memory: SSD 850 EVO, 500GB
With the target date for the next major update being in early November (Great birthday gift! Thanks devs!), people are wondering what the team is working on. I don't know the ins and outs, but the one word that comes up is "optimization". So what is it exactly? PC Gamer wrote an article recently explaining just that. http://www.pcgamer.com/what-optimization-really-means-in-games/ It's definitely worth the read. What did I take away from the reading? Basically programmers are gods.
