      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

      Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
      Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof) etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
      If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
      As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
      Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
      Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
      Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
      Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
      Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here. 
        §10 Images in posts
      When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
      .gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
      Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
      Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
      Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
      It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   Section II: Forum Signatures   §1 Signature Dimensions
      To avoid clutter, please make sure your signature (if you choose to have one) does not exceed the following size limit: 350x150 pixels. Your signature may consist of images, user bars and text elements, as long as the total size does not exceed 550 x 200 pixels. A small tolerance will be given, but any signature larger than the limit may at any time be deleted without prior warning. If you are not sure whether your signature is acceptable, please PM a moderator.   §2 Signature Content
      All rules of section 1 fully apply to your signature. We will remove signatures or parts of signatures without notice if they violate the forum rules, and infractions may be given.   §3 Animated Signatures
      Please refrain from using animated .gifs as signatures, they distract and clutter the forum.   Section III: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
      There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
      Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
      Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
      Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
      If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
      You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  1. Hello forum. SInce this friday Ive experienced something unexplanable and very frustrating. Everytime I join a FR based server my ping raise trough the roof. I know pings arent shown correctly on the UE4 engine. But ive never ever had a ping over 600-700 before. It even goes up to a 1000 sometimes. I cant even hear coms, the game stutters (no fps change just latency lag). Ive also been "disconnected from queue", had the "invalid aut token" and had "server connection closed" issues on EXODUS where Ive got aut token given by server owner since long time ago. Basically I can no longer play on Uk servers. Im from Sweden so clearly I shouldent have problems with ping against a FR server. Another guy in my clan (also from Sweden) has had the exact same problem, we also share the same ISP. Yet other people in the clan who has the same ISP dont have this issue. Ive tried flushing my DNS, Ive tried restarting my fiber transformator (dont have a router). Before this Ive never had such problem and the funny thing is that when I join german servers the ping is fine. What could be the issue here?
  2. Hi Squadsters I'm totally new to Squad, I did have some goes with Project Reality about a year or two ago. But I'm having a problem which is preventing me from playing/enjoying it al all First time I fired it up, everything worked as expected. I jumped into the firing range and from there adjusted my settings. I set the video, res, fullscreen... then I set the alternate btn for change fire mode to backspace. I left the game altogether rather than disconnecting (accidentally). I think I may have gotten an error message but can't remember for sure. When I started the game, I had to set the screen again, and it seemed my settings weren't saved. When I tried to join a server, nothing I clicked would launch the game. I restarted. This time it remembered the settings, and it launched me into a server without issue. But when I joined, I realised that the mouse axis weren't bound to the mouse-look/aim. I can shoot, I can look down the scope, I can walk around fine - even the quick menu works, as the cursor pops up, and I can select on of the action buttons. The map screen also works. I restarted, tried a whole manner of things to try and fix it until I deleted the whole thing and reinstalled it after downloading again. I've tried removing the config files from my apps/local (many many times) and I deleted some old settings I found from Project Reality 2. Tried pressing double escape, and everything else one might thing of. Tried windowed modes, changing the resolutions and nothing seems to make any difference at all. I made a profile for the game with the Logitech Gaming software, which I updated to the latest version. I even tried a different mouse to no avail. Also turned off the Steam overlay. I'm using a logitech G700, Windows 7 x64bit, on an i7 6-core 980x - 1st Gen. Asus ROG Poseidon Geforce 780 video card. Can't say I've ever had this problem with any other games (of which there are plenty). I've looked through the config files to see if anything stood out but I didn't notice anything along the lines of axis settings. I'd really really like to play this game, rather than ask for a refund. Because I think it has a lot of promise and I'd like to support the developer's efforts. So please if any of you are listening, and can figure out what my issue might be, give me a shout! Thanks a bunch!   3. Issue: Hey guys, I'm having some issues that is not allowing me to play the game at the moment. I want to go forward and also point out that I've played Squad since before it was on steam and this is honestly the first major problemI have had to deal with. What is happening, is the game starts up fine. When I go into the training map it runs flawlessly, with cpu peaking around 40-50% usage and getting great FPS. Now, the moment that I try to load into any server, no matter the population, the game loads in. I get the scenery default view where I can join a squad and grab a role. At this point, you can tell the game is literally unplayable. Everything moves in delay like when hitting enter to bring up the menu etc. Even if i give it some time, nothing changes. Now the interesting part here is my cpu usage is hovering only around 5-8% usage now and is not getting any higher. It seems that my hardware is not wanting to fully function only when in live servers. I want to assume that its something to do with the EAC system because earlier I was getting timeout errors. After some troubleshooting I haven't seen anymore of these messages and I'm not getting anymore errors, just terrible performance when in a live server. Spec: i72600 @ 3.89ghz GTX 980 Running off of 500GB HDD. 16GB of DDR3 Ram THINGS I HAVE ALREADY TRIED Deleting AppData squad folder. Full Clean installation of squad. Made sure to purge any squad files before re-downloading. Repairing EAC software Disabling Firewall/Anti-virus completely Rebooting PC Still having issues with only live servers. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Would appreciate any kind of tips or suggestions. Thanks! UPDATE: I FIXED IT. My solution After looking back into EAC I decided to try and not repair but instead actually uninstall it. Once re-installed everything returned to normal and performance is great. Who new an anti cheating service would mess up performance that bad.
  4. Hello, I just bought this game like two hour ago. Been disconnected every 15 minutes or so because of this VAC error. Been looking around for answers and Ive tried every "solution" I could find. Starting steam as admin, starting Squad launcher as admin, even tried reinstalling the game, switching users on steam etc. Nothing works. Im totally bummed out about this. I really love PR which is why I finally decided to actually get this game (payed full price). I really dont want to refund it... Please help. //Mr moO
  5. So I bought Squad, and I love it. Started playing once I found a server that didn't have terrible connection. Then a few hours go by, and I get the error "VAC Response Error (Enable VAC)" and I am now unable to play, every fix I can find doesn't seem to work. There was one fix that worked for a match or two then the error came back. I spent money on this game and was hoping I would actually get to enjoy it. Please do something about this.
  6. I'm getting the enable VAC error everytime I try and join a server. I tried exiting steam, logging out of steam, running SQUAD_launcher as admin, running steam as admin.. I tried a lot of stuff but nothing gets me in a server anymore. I haven't played in like two or three weeks, so this error came with a recent update. Really bugged out about it because I had to cancel joining in one of our clan matches vs another clan

  8. Hi, got a new display yesterday, resolution 3840*2160. I was than testing it on Squad. First it worked. Got back today and have this issue: Even the right resolition is namend in the appdata ... ... ... path and files, the game does show fullscreen, but the mouse can't be moved everywhere. It's locked in a lower resolution frame (probably former 1920*1080) causing me not to apply any res-changes, nor spawn in game anywhere. The mouse also has an offset, the real positon of the courser is NOT where it is shown on screen. Need some hints to fix it :-) What the problem is What the game sees
