      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics,  etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
        §10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed.   Section II: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  1. Server name [BB] Blood Bound Server (UK/EU) Server location London, UK Server slots 80 / 3 reserved About: Blood Bound began life as a Project Reality clan 2 years ago, playing together in many games, forming a tight community of individuals that dipped their toes in several games together; PR always being the central hub everyone would congregate around. After lying dormant for a while, some members had joined other clans and communities in Squad. Some of the of the key members of Blood Bound were in a clan that unfortunately disbanded, which prompted two of them - Hudson and Ark - to gather some of the people in that clan that were left high 'n dry after they disbanded together, and bring them in to Blood Bound to breathe new life into the clan, and start up Blood Bound's own Squad community and server. We're back from yesteryear, rising like a phoenix from the ashes! We welcome any and all to join our community for some laughs and good games together - hop on our Discord some time! If you like playing with us and are thinking of joining the clan, get in touch with one of our members and we'll have a chat Discord: Blood Bound Reporting a player: Hop on our Discord to get in touch with an admin ASAP in our #contact_an_admin channel and tag the @Server Staff provide the nickname and SteamID64 / Steam profile permalink (read the pinned post in the channel for an explanation) of the offending player, so we can identify them tell us what team they're on, and if possible, in which squad explain in detail what the player did if possible, provide any relevant evidence, such as footage of the incident (uploaded as an unlisted Youtube video) or relevant screenshots - video evidence being preferred Appealing a ban: Please visit our ban appeals sub-forum, check out the sample format provided, and make a new thread following that format. You can sign in easily using your Steam login on the top-right - no need to make a forum account! = Server Rules = We're all about teamwork, good communication, and providing a good atmosphere to keep things fun. If you have any questions or concerns, you can post a comment here - though joining our Discord is of course the quickest way to get in touch. Our admins' first concerns are to uphold an enjoyable atmosphere on the server for everyone on it, and to keep the quality of gameplay high. Admin decisions are final. 1. No racism, sexism, or discrimination of any sort will be tolerated Any such chat - whether in text chat, or over comms - will be met with a permanent ban. This includes offensive player or squad names. 2. Do not insult each other We understand that things can get hectic and in the heat of the moment, tempers may flare and arguments can happen, but this does not mean we'll tolerate an argument only escalating due to direct insults being flung back and forth. Try to keep the atmosphere on the server enjoyable. If you can't resolve it - drop it and play on. 3. Do not spam text chat or comms Spamming things over comms and disrupting the game, or clogging up text chat will be first warned for, then punished. 4. Do not recruit for your clan or advertise websites or streams on the server Self-explanatory - don't advertise for your own Discord / community / clan or try to recruit members while on the server. Don't advertise your stream, either. Don't advertise for things like skin gambling websites, either. This includes having a website as part of your nickname. 5. Don't ever intentionally team-kill, for any reason whatsoever - including in retaliation - or you will be banned If you're intentionally team-killed (for example, after an argument), call the attention of an admin and let them handle it. Please apologise for any accidental TKs in all chat so admins know they were accidental. 6. Do not camp enemy main bases If your team manages to cap the enemy's last cap - defend that cap, but don't advance on the enemy's main base. This rule includes planting mines / IEDs too close to enemy main bases; as a rule of thumb, keep mines / IEDs 250m away from enemy main bases. Due to some maps being quite small compared to others, the closest allowed proximity of mines / IEDs to enemy mains may be relaxed a bit on maps like Sumari, where they are allowed right up 'till the "Checkpoint" cap zone. When in doubt, ask an admin. 7. Squad Leaders are required to speak English, and have a mic (and use it) We expect SLs to cooperate with one another, and make an effort to lead their squad. 8. Do not make a squad unless you intend to lead it Don't make a squad, then leave it and make another - this doesn't help "seed" squads, but just causes chaos at the start of a match. Don't make a squad then pass off SL to someone else, either. Also, don't make a squad solely to get a certain kit. 9. Squad Leaders may kick anyone from their squad for any reason Please try to be civil when kicking people from your squad. If you're kicked from a squad, please don't argue about it, but join a different squad. If the reason you were kicked conflicts with one of our other server rules (racism / sexism / discrimination), please report it so the offending SL can be dealt with. 10. Do not lock your squad with less than 4 people in it Specialised squads (e.g. logistics, mortar, APC, Bradley) may be smaller, but must be named accordingly. 11. Respect specialised, named squads - don't take claimed assets Specialised squads, such as a squad named "LOGI", "BTR 30MM", "APC" or "IFV" have first claim of the vehicles named. First come, first serve applies - if there are multiple specialised squads trying to claim the same vehicle(s), the first squad to have created their named squad takes precedence. In the case of such squads being made within a very short time of one another, we expect SLs of these squads to fairly, and maturely come to an agreement concerning these assets. In the case of a squad claiming several assets to fulfill a defined role (such as APC transport, IFV support), we expect you to have enough people in your squad to properly man these vehicles. Please see the next rule for more on this. 12. Do not one-man APCs and IFVs - these require a 2-man crew at all times Techies and light transport / support vehicles (BRDM / MRAP) that don't require a crewman kit to operate may be one-manned. 13. Do not grief, troll, or waste assets Intentionally getting friendly assets destroyed, "throwing" a match, driving a logi into enemy-held territory, or having your entire squad head off to a part of the map entirely not in play to spend the whole match building a giant, pointless FOB together are all examples of behaviour that breaks this rule. 14. Do not share any sort of team intel with the enemy team This includes sharing friendly positions, ticket counts, or anything else that only your team knows / can see. 15. Abusing exploits to gain an advantage over others or using cheats of any sort will result in a ban Hiding in a rock that lacks player clipping so you can't get hit would be an example of abusing an exploit. Use of cheats will be brought to the attention of OWI, and result in a full game ban. 16. Ghosting and stream sniping will be met with a permanent ban 17. Inactive / unassigned players will be kicked Please join a squad if you're unassigned. Unassigned players will be seen as AFK and kicked to make room for others, accordingly. Seeding rules If the server player count is lower than 40 players, the following seeding rules are also in effect. Once there are more than 40 players on the server, a broadcast will be put out stating the game is live. 1. Do not take out enemy HABs / FOBs Keep fighting to the middle caps. 2. Don't build FOBs / HABs on middle caps (as those will be fought over) 3. Do not use offensive vehicles Only use transport and logistics vehicles. 4. Do not use mortar tubes, HMG emplacements, or other offensive FOB emplacements Enjoy your time with us! Drop us a line if you have any concerns. Game on!
  2. Right now, Brit infantry squad is very different than other conventional in term of firepower. I known that the devs want to created diversion in the game by removing the essential equipment that produce the most firepower other conventional factions relied in ( optic GPMG ) and replaced it with optical grenadier for Brit and i say this is not a fair trade and brit need something to compensate for that : Optical on grenadier indeed is a great thing to have, but that does not make grenadier in any kind equal to that amount of firepower and suppression provided by the GPMG, the optic does help grenadier players in spotting target but for the range adjustment, you still need to do it on your own, and this need a lot of practice to get experienced on judging distance to target on different terrain. A grenadier will need longer time to accurately engage target while with the machine-gunner, as long as you set your bipod down, you are clear to go. Currently, in most conventional forces vs conventional forces scenario, most US & RU squad i seen will not even bothered to pick AT kit, they have their vic to deal with enemy armor already, instead they will focus on maximising their firepower against enemy infantry forces. An optical GPMG can effectively engaged target far beyond 500m and even more effective than the maskman in suppression and delaying enemy advance The l86 LSW is never near that of a LMG, it ammunition capacity is lower than the RPK by 15 rounds, and LSW gunner only carry with them 270 rounds ( 9 mags ) compare to 540 rounds carry by rpk 74 gunner ( 12 mags ). The SUSAT is also not that comparable to the high tech sight used by RU and US (wider fov, illumination, higher power magnification, incorporated ballistic compensation ) It just immersion breaking... I can understand support role like AT, crewman and medic don't need an optic but i never seen any british infantry go to war without optical device...

  13. Hi all, I'm posting from my phone, so apologies in advance for any abrupt explanations or typos. I've read every single thread in this forum and have been contemplating this issue for almost 2 years now. In a nutshell, I am a UK-based (Lancashire, England) PR vet since 2007 who was part of an old PR stalwart community 'Tactics & Teamwork' [T&T] back in the days of 0.5-0.8ish when we ran one of the most popular European-based servers. The community fragmented around late-2010 and I've been without a home ever since. I have not seen many UK/EU communities fill that void in that time, or those that did are now also no longer really around. A lot has changed since back then with myself specifically. Everyone eventually has 'less time to play games because of real life and growing up', but even more so significant to me is that I have a job working shifts, including weekends and nights. This means I don't get to unwind every Saturday night, and the odd weekends I do get, I'm likely to be spending time with my very-soon-to-be-wife. When [T&T] collapsed, I didn't just lose an in-game tag and a regular server, but I also lost the group of people I played EVERYTHING with, and since beginning this job 4 years ago now, it has seemed like such an uphill battle to find a new 'gaming home', a group of English speaking (not necessarily UK based) people where there is a chance whether its 7pm on a Saturday night, 10am on a Monday morning, or 2pm on a Thursday afternoon, that I can jump onto the community teamspeak, and there will be someone there to play a game with. Any game I have, not just PR or Squad. I'm a big team player, but because of my shift-work, the last 4 years of my favourite hobby have been quite 'lonely' in that I am just 'another player'. I have no 'home', no group of regulars I can trust to play assets with. I'm at the mercy of whoever has a space open. I can't promise an event or training schedule, nor am I looking for any that are mandatory. I'm all for improving my game, but not at the threat of my membership being cancelled. I'm not looking for a PR/Squad ONLY community. I enjoy other games, RTS, MMOS. I'm looking for the flexibility of friends who I don't have to leave at the doorstep unless I'm playing a particular game. Since [T&T]'s collapse I have ran a 20-man TS3 server that is frequented by my brother, our RL friends when they want to game, the person who actually recruited me into [T&T], and his rag-tag group of players he takes under his wings from the other games he plays. That's just an aside - it's a very small family and close friends TS server, but anyone here in a similar situation to me is welcome to use it - just ask me for the details. So, enough about the past, what can I tell you about me that might make any groups out there reading this want to extend an invite? PRdating.com ad below: I'm 26 and live in the North West of England (Lancashire). I have a broad accent, and am naturally very loud. I have two very distinct modes; life-and-soul (of the party), or very serious. Each attitude betrays the other in that I can come across as two different people. This is in-part because of what I do. I work for one of the UK emergency services, and my serious side comes through that - so sometimes the outright ridiculous behaviour that can come from me is simply my ability to unwind from the things I deal with day to day. Because of my shift work, my gaming patterns are sporadic. I can tell you well in advance when I will be available because my shift pattern is predictable, but EVERY week is different and I cannot tell you that there is a single night in the week when I am always available. I'm soon to be married at the start of July, and so when I do have weekends free, I am often doing something with my fiancée, but she is very understanding of my second love (gaming), and is often happy to crack on with her own hobbies whilst I do mine. She's quite content of we're just in the same room together... But this means I'm restricted on my headset due to my loudness, hence I recently bought some wireless TV headphones for her! I love all kinds of games, but mostly MMOs, RTS and FPS. My love of gaming started with Ultima Online when I was 9. It stayed with me through my teens, as did Counter Strike and TFC amongst most MMOs to ever be released (DAoC I love you, rest in peace). I played BF2 since the Gulf of Oman demo and found a group of people to play with regularly. Purely through their need for ammo at the time I ended up playing with machine gun classes and have since become a killer auto-rifleman/MGer. In my late teens I found PR, Company of Heroes, and WoW. These days I have recently returned to PR - the last time I played was in the 2 tournaments ran by Forgotten Honor in 2013-14. I am very much looking forward to squad, and also dabble in ESO and GW2 as they're free to play. I love the GTA and total war series. In PR I am trying to become an effective squad leader, often focusing on the thing that the rest of the team is ignoring (I can see when a round is being played like a 5 year old's football match and everyone, including the goalie, is just chasing the ball and not focusing on leaving the net wide open). As I say I'm a killer machine gunner, have great estimation for trajectories on LATs and Grenadiers, but am trying to get my head around the Marksman kit as an actual contributory kit to a squad's performance. I'd play Commander more if it was actually consequential to the team's efforts and wasn't just a largely ignored position involving staring at a low-res map for an hour. I prefer infantry play for 2 reasons - one, I tend to find it to be the most rewarding, and two, the lack of regular buddies to play with, combined with the prevalence of belligerent asset whores means it's not a realistic prospect for me to use assets often. That said, I'm regularly told I'm the best trans helo pilot players have ever seen. I don't do tricks, like flying upside down, but I do the job bloody well and have enjoyed doing it since BF:V. I owe my skills to using my chopper as a 'car' and skimming the roads at top speed in hueys when bored on BF:V. It was good fun nipping around trees, and I use a mouse and keyboard. Well, that's enough of a sob story and probably more than anyone needed to read, but if I'm blunt, I'm currently itching to play PR 1.3 whilst sat in a hotel room 4 hours away from home at a friend-of-my-fiancées wedding where I don't know may people, she is the bridesmaid, and the food has made her stomach topsy-turvey, so I took my queue to shoot also, and am posting this (and on other threads) whilst my fiancée sleeps like a log. Hope to hear from players, close-knit groups, and communities alike! Please re-ignite my teamwork-lead gaming. Cheers!
