      Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
      Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof) etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
      If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
      As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
      Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
      Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
      Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
      Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
      Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here. 
        §10 Images in posts
      When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
      .gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
      Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
      Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
      Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
      It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   Section II: Forum Signatures   §1 Signature Dimensions
      To avoid clutter, please make sure your signature (if you choose to have one) does not exceed the following size limit: 350x150 pixels. Your signature may consist of images, user bars and text elements, as long as the total size does not exceed 550 x 200 pixels. A small tolerance will be given, but any signature larger than the limit may at any time be deleted without prior warning.       All rules of section 1 fully apply to your signature. We will remove signatures or parts of signatures without notice if they violate the forum rules, and infractions may be given.   §3 Animated Signatures
      Please refrain from using animated .gifs as signatures, they distract and clutter the forum.   Section III: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
      There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
      Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
      Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
      Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
      If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
      You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

Post Scriptum is a WW2 modification for the acclaimed tactical shooter SQUAD. Players will relive the events of ‘Operation Market Garden’ across the fields and towns of Holland. This massive Allied assault consisted of a coordination of the British and American Airborne to capture key bridges while the British XXX Corps moved to reinforce them through Highway 69. However, consecutive delays in consolidating ground from the north of Belgium through Nijmegen forced the 1st British Airborne Division in Arnhem to make a stand much longer than anticipated. With no successful link between the XXX Corps and the Airborne in sight, the seventh and final bridge in Arnhem was considered lost. ‘The Bloody Seventh’ is our name for the initial focus of the project as we feel it succinctly details the struggle that the British paratroopers had to endure while waiting for their army counterpart to establish a link through the Lower Rhine. Players will be given the option to fight with the British Airborne Division, British XXX Corps or several branches of the German Army, such as the Wehrmacht or the Waffen SS. It’s a rare opportunity to experience the intense battlefield that was the Battle of Arnhem, which stretched across farms, woods, villages and city areas. Each area is being accurately recreated from archival references that range from street level to aerial images. Post Scriptum takes the common element of longing that is often expressed in the letters of soldiers to bring a more down to earth and intimate perspective of their existence. Do you have a release date? As usual, ‘it’s ready when it’s ready’. How and where are you going to release? We will reveal such details in due time. Are you going to release your content for the modding community? In the current state, as a modding project, most likely not. Is Arnhem going to be the only place you will cover in the campaign? No. It’s in our plans to go beyond that but ‘The Bloody Seventh’ alone will be quite a monumental task. Will we be able to play with vehicles in the first release? It’s preferable not make promises of that sort while so early in development. Why aren’t you working with other WW2 mods in SQUAD? PR:WW2 initiated talks with WW2 mods in the beginning of February. The proposition would be for each lead developer to have an equal share of decision making within the project. Eventually only ‘La Voie de La Liberté’ agreed with those terms as well as sharing equal views in structure, planning and team management. Are you going to lean towards the Allies in your visual concept? We have a neutral stance regarding both factions. We will balance our promotional campaign between one and another throughout our development. The only one sided leaning element might be baseline with its ‘bloody’ British cursing but that was purposely named to have a double meaning as both sides never had full control of Arnhem’s road bridge. Will you censor Nazi symbols? It’s not in our plans to do so. We believe that every single historical element should be captured regardless of its significance. However, we can't ignore country laws in which such symbols are not allowed. For that reason we’re planning to make a censored version for players that live in countries where Nazi symbolism it’s outlawed. However, our execution of this censored version hinges on many factors, some of which may be out of our control.
  2. Why is it that when I go into the firing range and choose the squad leader kit, I cannot pull up the squad leader menu by pressing T? When I am in an actual game it works fine but when I want to practice at the range, it does not work.

Hey there SQUAD devs and/or community management, i thought that i should give my feedback to the developers on this game, since i'm a backer and did put about 700hours into it, right after launch. I stopped playing Squad about 6 or more months ago because of the poor game performance and the lack of improvement in that area. Yesterday i came back to see how this game developed over the past months and if it's worth putting my everyday afternoon gaming time into it. Today i decided: It is not. Warning: This isn't supposed to be a hate thread and i also don't want to trigger the overly attached hardcode fan bunnies (is BLITZA still here?), but i feel like giving you - the devs - my opinion on the games current state. First off: i really like that vehicles are now in the game and i've also tested some of the new weapons. Both looked and worked better then expected (still having arma2 flashbacks, when i think about vehicles). Effects and sound design improved as well. However, all of this i couldn't really enjoy, because of the - still - poor performance of this game. Don't get me wrong, this is much better compared to the first few months after the game release, but it's still not even close to where a multiplayer FPS title should be - not even in alpha. I experienced FPS drops, i experienced low average FPS, i experienced mouse input lags and i experienced hit-reg desyncs. For me, as a longterm FPS fan, these are things which make a game fun and playable, or not fun and not playable to me. Squad went a long way already with its performance topic when i was still playing. But where are you guys now? It's over a year since release now and this game is still nothing to take really serious on the multiplayer FPS market. If you can't expect a first person shooter, where you rely on reflexes, aim, fast decision making (and alot more), to run at least on a stable frame rate of - let's say - 60 FPS, you did something wrong. If you can't expect the game to always register your fired bullets correctly and with (almost) no time lag, you did something wrong. If you can't expect the game to not let you randomly drop to 20 fps, even while you are in a building with almost no players on the server, you did something wrong. Squad is the most atmospheric shooter i've ever played. I've played tourney matches with my old team, i've played hundreds of public matches with new and veteran players and i was a active community member for a quite long time. I just really hope that you guys gonna start changing priorities in your product management team. Why would you add more performance hungry features, when even the base game is still not running how it is supposed to be? Yea, i know.. "That's how alphas work. First: add all features, then you improve performance". No! That's not how it works. You can't take this as an excuse for a whole year, while still working on new performance hungry features. Who will be left in the end? If this game will ever be "totally finished", with working FPS performance coming with the last update, i'm asking: who will be left? This early access phase IS your published content. It IS what the people are playing and talking about. It IS what players will stop recommend or give a bad rating. You guys already know that it's simply not possible with the current engine state, to give a stable performance, while still trying to reach your "100 vs 100 players on a map big like half the Iraq" vision. The questions are: will you guys still trying to push out content and hope that there will be some players left who don't care about a stable game performance in the end? Or will you guys change your vision and adjust your game goals to reach the standard of modern shooters game performance? Only you guys know, but i will not be around to find out. --- To whoever feels triggered right now (in the months i was active at the forums, there was alot of easily triggered people here): - Game was played on a i7 5820K, 32GB RAM, GeForce GTX 980Ti, Win10 - average FPS were 40. - Yes, i tried every in-game setting combination to try improve the performance - Yes, i could have turned my resolution down to 640x480 with everything on low, to get stable and high fps. I would have chosen this option if this game isn't about spotting players on long distances and long to med range fithing. - Yes, i know how to tweak stuff in the game config files to try to improve the performance (is it still possible to turn off shadows and foliage? ;-)) - Yes, i get it, "Squad isn't made for me" and "i am an ******". I "should really go play CoD or CS", since those are the only games where performance matters. - Yes, i know, you guys get "good FPS, game feels totally smooth to me" - even if most of you guys don't even know how to turn on a fps display. As an addition here: it still doesn't count when you get 60+ FPS ONCE at firing range, while looking at a wall. It only matters what your average FPS line is, while you are in a live game with the max possible - by the devs recommended - amount of players on a server. - Yes, i know. Netcode isn't something which matters in this game, since it's not about hitting moving targets, it's about just spraying bullets all around, so we can all feel like real life soldiers. --- Thanks for reading.   5. I got my Steam Key, installed the game, and played on the training map for about 2 minutes. Then I exited out of the game for a quick second but when I tried to play it again, I got a message reading: " Couldn't start: "D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Squad\Squad\Binaries\Win64\Squad.exe" CreateProcess0 renturned 2e4. " (I can't tell if it's "CreateProcess0" or "CreateProcess()" )

  7. Hey all. Just bought Squad a couple of days ago and its really fun besides the game stuck around 30-40 FPS no matter what graphic settings, everything low vs everything high does not improve or reduce my FPS. I noticed too that my video card just sits there and does nothing when I watch it in MSI Afterburner, it ramps up in GPU usage and clock speed for every other game I play. Also it even under clocks at certain points which is weird. I tried to maxium power setting in the Nvidia control panel for global and the game itself settings with no improvement either. I should be able to max this game out with at least 100+ FPS right? here are my specs i7-6700 @ 4.0Ghz 16GB DDR4 RAM (2133Mhz) MSI Aero GeForce GTX 1080 OC'd - 2706Mhz Core Clock / 5557Mhz Memory Clock.

It derives its lineage from the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit that was active in the Project Reality community in the early 2000s. In history, 3rd Battalion 1st Marine Regiment has fought in the Pacific, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and up to the present day. Likewise, 3/1 as a milsim unit has participated in Project Reality, Insurgency, Arma 3 and now Squad. We are currently opening our Discord chat to anyone interested in being a part of the 1st SOB. As a group, we play games ranging from Squad and Arma III, to Company of Heroes and Civ 5, to more casual titles.   12. TBG was founded on January 1st of 2008 in Battlefield 2142. Since then, we have grown into one of the premiere Battlefield communities. Our structure is simple and easy to follow. There is no military ranking system in place. We currently have over 7,000 registered site members, and over 100 members that have joined TBG, with 80% of them active on a daily/bi-daily basis, so there is always someone to game with.   14. Hi, I bought squad v8.9 fews days ago from steam. After playing multiplayer missions in real maps give me a horrible fps whereas in training mission the game works fine on epic settings. My system fps drops and the game start stuttering heavily and frequently. Whether the rest of games i have run good with high quality. My laptop specs: Windows 8.1 64bit Core i7 3537u Ram 8gb Directx 11 Gpu amd radeon (tm) hd 8500m/8700m Memory size 2gb DDR3 700mhz core clock 900mhz memory clock Memory bandwidth 28.8 Gbytes/s Internet speed is more than enough: 18.06mbps download 42.37mbps upload Ping 8ms I already applied the fixes and tweaks posted here.   17. Hey there, I have been trying to figure out how to disable the default gamepad/controller controls of squad. I like to set up my xbox one controller with 3rd party software so I can play with a hybrid gamepad/mouse setup but I haven't been able to disable squad's default controls to stop my keybinds and squads from fighting each other. I found another post on here where a programmer stated the following.. Motherdear: "Go to the defaultinput.ini in the app config folder/ game folder and find everything with the gamepad tag and delete it manually, our binding system is very basic atm and isn't slated for updating for a while sadly" Seems pretty straight forward so I go into said input folder and delete all mentions of gamepad save and still have the controls fighting me, then delete them another way with no luck and eventually remove defaultinput.ini from the game all together and the controls are still there. Idk what I am doing wrong, if I am overlooking something, or if you just can't do it this way anymore? Any help or insight is greatly appreciated!

  23. Hello Before anyone starts banging on about "why aren't you using K& M ...bla,bla,bla...." I have Bursitis due to mouse usage , i suspect, so i have to try other means of control. Is anyone else having troubles getting their Steam controller profile to work in Squad? I downloaded ExistentialEgg's profile from the SC profile page and have tried other peoples profiles too. I seem to get strange things happening,such as pull back on the analogue stick while in game, makes me go back to steam community or Big Pic mode. I'm thinking its the SC desktop profile that this is. Ive made Steam have admin permissions,I've uninstalled Razer Cortex as well.
