      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics,  etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
        §10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed.   Section II: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

I'm usually a medic in Squad and it'd be a great addition to be able to drag your teammates behind cover. It'd add not only to the realism, but also be a great addition to abilities.

  12. Fox Squad

FOX SQUAD http://foxsquad.club/ Fox Squad is a Tactical Squad Unit based in Europe. Fox squad at its heart is more of a casual unit than other hardcore units in Squad, we want to have fun more than we want to win super competitive matches, but that doesn't mean we won't put up a good fight. We still focus on tactics and to win, but we tend to opt out of bigger events such as CCFN and clan matches. At the heart, we wanted to be a unit where you can make new great friends and pop on and play together with a group of amazing people than dredge through the pain of having to play with randoms every day. We understand you lead busy lives! (And that's cool) Unlike a lot of units, we know that you lead a busy life, people have to work, look after children and maybe you just want to play other games one night, we are okay with this, as long as you are at least semi-active in our unit we won't kick you out. We won't enforce you have to play with us at certain times of attending training, it's completely up to you. OUR THREE SIMPLE CORE VALUES We have a small set of core values, the core values are things we pride and aim for above anything else. They are also an acronym for RAT, but that's a complete coincidence. RESPECT We respect every player and we expect you to respect every player, we don't have any "Elitist" status in our Unit, everyone is the same. We all play squad. We all have fun. We all respect each over and we all get along. Simples. AMAZING We may be a more casual clan but that doesn't mean we don't get some great players, you may be shocked to hear that not every good player in Squad wants to play competitively, some just want to play with a bunch of guys and girls and have fun, but also play tactically and serious, but a lot of units don't offer a mix of balance of your social life, and playing squad. We do. Also if you are a new player, we have a set of training programs, guides and you can learn from the best, so we are pretty amazing. TEAM PLAYERS Have you ever been in a Unit and all the players are amazing, but you constantly lose clan matches and it just sort of sucks? We care as much about the other man as we do ourselves, to us it's not about how each individual performs in the unit, it's about how the team works. You could have a squad of nine guys who are amazing, but if the chemistry isn't there if they don't work well together, whats the point? Fox squad takes this to heart, we feel people who get on together and teaching people to work together well in squads is the best thing and is really the essence of the game. SO HOW DO I JOIN? First of all be aware we do have some pretty basic requirements: You must be OVER 16 years old. You must have an active and working microphone and be willing to use it. You must be able to speak clearly in English. You must be a kind and respectable person. Joining is pretty easy, no silly forms, or processes, all you literally need to do is click on the discord link below to join our Discord server. Then private message [FOX] Yetteh Explain you want to join! JOIN OUR DISCORD
  13. TBG was founded on January 1st of 2008 in Battlefield 2142. Since then, we have grown into one of the premiere Battlefield communities. Our Squad group has grown steadily to nearly 20 members starting in 2018. Our structure is simple and easy to follow. There is no military ranking system in place. The average age is about 28-30, and we have many members with families/kids. We do have an age restriction of 21+. We currently have over 12,000 registered site members, and over 120 members (~18 in Squad) that have joined TBG, with 80% of them active on a daily/bi-daily basis, so there is always someone to game with. Over 40% of our members are active or retired military (all branches). Currently, we host 9 Battlefield 4 servers, along with Squad, Battlefield 3, Insurgency and Team Fortress 2 servers as well. Come check us out!

  19. Website: Tactical Gamer Tactical Gamer is one of the best known and respected communities that played Project Reality. For many years we hosted the busiest and most well organised PR server in existence. We have a history of great Commanders, fantastic Squad Leaders, admins, developers and testers all within our ranks, and this is something that will continue with Squad. Using our own Teamspeak server we run and participate in internal and external scrims. We are very excited about what the team is doing with Squad, and look forward to its progress! Tactical Gamer prides itself on being a community of mature, teamwork-orientated gamers. We believe in playing games with tactics and teamwork, and have little tolerance for other styles of game play. While not all agree with our philosophy, we find that we have had incredible success with it in the past and see no reason why we cannot do so again. If you didn't have the opportunity to play on our Project Reality server before, please browse through our forums to see what we're all about. If you've played with us before then we'd like to welcome you back. We currently play a wide variety of teamwork orientated games, we run ArmA servers, BF4 servers, and our members are to be found in anything where there is cooperation and organisation required. Swing on by our forums and say hello in our new Squad sub-forum. Our membership is in the 10's of thousands across all our games, mostly split between the USA and Europe. Our requirements are that you have a mic, are willing to participate in a teamwork orientated fashion, and have fun. We follow the principles of our primer in all games we play. 22. Free-look Track IR???

Ok, so with the new free-look feature coming to squad soon I wanted to explore an idea...track IR. Would it be possible to play the game with a track IR set up with the free-look feature and what do you all think! I think it's something to look into at least.
  23. List of Suggestions

Hello, I feel like squad is moving in a great direction and have been with this game from the start. After being in the Infantry for almost 9 years, this game is a very decent representation for the feel of combat, and it's why I keep coming back to this game. I've compiled a list of ideas that could make the game a smidge better in my opinion. If any of these "ideas" have already been suggested, then I apologize. Hopefully at least one of the ideas will appeal to the community. SO here is the list. * Commander-(or Lt.) Each team should have one commander, and he can have a medic and 2 riflemen attached to him. This way the commander can constantly be looking at the map, and directing the SLs on where to move and what to hold, etc. Too many times I've been in game and the SLs don't know which squad should go where and sometimes you have a random squad just off in the hinterlands drinking margaritas or whatever they're doing. The Commander can also assign new SLs if the ones in play are unresponsive or toxic, etc. Obviously it shouldn't be one-sided, so if the majority of the SLs don't like the commander, they can vote to kick him/her. * Team Leaders. Each squad should have 2 team leaders so that a squad leader can delegate information and actually do battle drill 1A. It's hard to take contact, and then flank the enemy without having 2 teams for fire and maneuver. I suggest that the team leaders be outfitted with the m4 and acog. and then on their team they can have 3-4 people consisting of whatever weapon they choose. * Scout Squad. One squad on each side should be a scout squad. The scouts would consist of snipers and mortars. The SL would be in charge and one of the team leaders would command the snipers and the other the mortars. The other SLs can rely on the Scout SL for recon of areas, providing fire support, or even having over-watch when moving to an obj. The possibilities are endless. The reason this is ideal is because then you can have snipers and mortars at the range they need to be without splitting up personnel from the main squads. The Sniper Team should consist of 2 snipers, and the Team Leader choosing either an M4 or Saw and having a spotting scope to help identify and call out target to his guys. The Mortar team can consist of a team leader and 2 personnel. The squad leader and a medic can choose to follow either team or sit back and direct them from afar. * Role set-up and team room. When the match starts, and you have the 3 minutes of prep time, each squad should have their own team room with a locker or booth and a table in the middle. Ammo and etc can be all over, just making it look like a ready room. The idea of the room is to outfit your squad with the roles they need to fill before stepping off. So, your Commander will tell the SLs the intent of attack and what each squad will need to have. The SLs will then make sure their squads are outfitted appropriately. (This whole idea is more for looks and not much else I guess.) Link is to see what a team room looks kind of looks like. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjvhsCW4LTYAhUC2GMKHabQB5sQjRwIBw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pinterest.com%2Fexplore%2Fmarsoc-marines%2F&psig=AOvVaw2gvm5ITdukizqssj3cTANj&ust=1514826900621869 * Vehicles Certain vehicles, (or all, idk) should carry some LATs. They should be accessible by going to the back of the vehicle and hitting a key to grab the LAT weapon from it. This way these vehicles can deal with armored vehicles without having to sit there and dump hundreds of rounds into a each other. Each vehicle could carry like 2 LATs. Gunners should also be able to free fire with their weapons if they choose too. For example, if an enemy is close to the MAT-V and you can't get your 50. on him, then you should be able to move to your SAW or M4, whatever, and fire at him. * More? I have plenty more ideas, but these are just a few. If any of these are worth looking into, please give feedback. If you want me to list off more ideas, let me know. If not, I understand. Thanks if you actually read all of this. I appreciate your time!
