      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof) etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
        §10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   Section II: Forum Signatures   §1 Signature Dimensions
To avoid clutter, please make sure your signature (if you choose to have one) does not exceed the following size limit: 350x150 pixels. Your signature may consist of images, user bars and text elements, as long as the total size does not exceed 550 x 200 pixels. A small tolerance will be given, but any signature larger than the limit may at any time be deleted without prior warning. If you are not sure whether your signature is acceptable, please PM a moderator.   §2 Signature Content
All rules of section 1 fully apply to your signature. We will remove signatures or parts of signatures without notice if they violate the forum rules, and infractions may be given.   §3 Animated Signatures
Please refrain from using animated .gifs as signatures, they distract and clutter the forum.   Section III: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  1. I have a I76700 GTX950 16bg ram and can provide more specs if needed. So basically i should be able to run the game on ultra right? BUT I CANT! I run the game at about 30-40 fps! Please help! I play at 1920x1080 on all low settings on forest maps i get 30-48 and on desert maps i get 50 on my favorite settings which are txxa high effects medium shadows high/epic view distance medium/low foliage. I get 38-50 fps on jungle maps but mostly 30-40 on forest maps and on desert maps i get 53-67 it moves a lot lol. I tried doing the command -useallavaliblecores but that didn't help either. So if you can help me or tell me anymore commands that would be great!
  2. CPU - i5 2400 3.10GHz GPU - Nvidia GTX 950 sc RAM - 12gb 1333MHz
  3. Hi there, I am looking into making my own Gaming PC and I'm keen in buying this game. But I need help with the required Specs, CPU, etc. I am currently set on buying an Intel Core i7 but any other cheaper or better suggestions will be fantastic. P.S. I currently have a IMac from late 2012 and I'm wondering if I can just upgrade somethings from that? Thanks for your time.
  4. Apologies if this is in the incorrect section. Specs: Processor: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 ASUS STRIX RAM 16 GB (Corsair) Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 (build 10240), 64-bit I know that AMD performance is far worse, and that v8.0 should bring some great performance changes around November. I'm looking to buy the game, but I thought I would ask you that in the current state of the game, how bad actually is the FPS? Is it enough to make aiming a difficulty? Does it impact on how fun the game plays? Is it even that noticeable? I'm wondering this because I was watching some videos of guys with roughly the same specs as me playing around 4-5 months ago and I couldn't even tell the game was lagging. (See here for that video) Thanks in advance.

Hi guys. We are in the process of launching a Squad server.. (I have many more information about that, tournament, organisation, website.. some very VERY good news for the Squad community - but I have to start somewhere.. ). What is the requirement for the server machine to handle 72 slots easily ?? (I'm sorry that must have been covered before but didn't find it on the forum or Wiki).
  6. Can this setup run Squad at a decent framerate (50+)? Not my own specs but a good friend's Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 Processor: AMD-FX8350 4.01Ghz Memory/RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz DDR3 Graphics Card: (2x) GTX 770 SC 4GB (Would be running with the unofficial SLI configuration for squad) Storage: (2x) Samsung 850 EVO 500GB
  7. Hey all, this post is to AMD users, it's for CPUs primarily, but also GPUs. Obviously I cannot guarantee that these fixes will work for everybody, but hopefully somebody is able to squeeze out at least a few more frames. In this post, I will give an exhaustive list of all my relevant specs, settings, tweaks, and software information in an effort to help AMD users get as much more performance as possible. First off; it IS possible for AMD CPU's to perform well with Squad! My current setup gets 50-60 FPS consistently with up to around 45 players on all maps. Even with smoke and heavy combat, I usually don't dip down lower than the high 30's-low 40's. This is with 1080p, Max Effects, max AA, 125% resolution scale, and max Post Processing, I can play with more than 45 players, but obviously performance suffers, but not too badly! I still get a consistent 35-40 FPS even with 60+ players and combat, but the lower dips in frames are longer and more frequent. While this isn't amazing, it beats the heck out of many of the horror stories I have been hearing. Some people with similar or even slightly better specs are saying that even on low population servers with lowest settings, they are barely able to get 30-35 FPS without even being in combat. If it is possible for me, then in principle, it is for others too, let's begin: (Thank you to Boxknife for the format of these specs). System: CPU: FX-8320 @4.6Ghz (CPU ratio is 23.0) GPU: Sapphire R9-390 Nitro 1100Mhz on the core (+100), 1500Mhz on the memory (default) Afterburner power use percent: +50% (Latest non-beta drivers) MB: Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 Bios version: 2501 x64 (04/07/2014) RAM: 8GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance @ 2133Mhz Timings: 11-11-11-28 (Voltage is auto) HDD: 1TB WD Black 7200 rpm Monitor: 1080p 60Hz Dell generic monitor. OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit with all current updates. (There are two hotfixes that Microsoft has put out for the FX series of chips that can help with some performance issues, I have applied both and I would recommend you do too.) These are free for anybody, but you have to request Microsoft send them to you manually via email, however the action is automated and takes a few seconds at most, no signup or weirdness required. If you feel fishy about that, I will link to a Tek Syndicate forum post that has both files linked for download automatically. I think they are safe, but obviously, download at your own risk. Well that was a bunch to type, hopefully not too many people got bored, but more importantly, hopefully this helps some of you fellow AMD users out there to get respectable, or even just playable performance out of your CPU's and GPU's! A big thanks to the readers/posters, and to the dev team for always keeping us in the loop and working on making our experience better every time! PS: I probably made a mistake or two somewhere here. If you find any obvious errors, feel free to message me. I will be going over this post with a fine toothed comb again within an hour or so, possibly making some edits. I may also add some other details. New Content: Special thanks to user, "A Pacifist" for posting this new thread. He posted some new audio tweaks that may help some more AMD users that are having frame issues. Check it out! New Stutter Fix For AMD Users Peace out everybody, ~Shadow
  8. Welcome to the Squad Players PC Benchmarks Thread! The idea was born from the Show us your Rig for Squad thread. Forum user Switch0r suggested the creation of a thread since PC games tend to draw PC enthusiasts that like to test their systems with the latest and greatest. Ever since the creation of the home computer, users have been overclocking and tweaking their systems to maximize performance. This thread will serve as the place of discussion for everything PC benchmark related. Will your system be able to take the #1 spot? Post to find out! To make this as simple as possible, rankings will be based off of freely available benchmarks on standard settings. Available on Steam 3DMark demo 3DMark 11 demo 3DMark Vantage demo Users must follow these guidelines: (rules from Overclock.net) -Use default 3DMark settings -Your entry must contain: user name, CPU and clock, GPU('s) and of course the Pxxx score Like so: User-name --- 3770K @ 4.2 --- 7970 CF --- FS XXXXX -Your entry must have a Futuremark verification URL AND screenshot of your score Verification requirements: Screenshot 3Dmark benchmark settings 3DMark overall score 3DMark subtest scores CPU-Z CPU tab CPU-Z Memory tab GPU-Z Graphics Card tab (Screenshot example) *** Reserved for FAQ *** (This post will be routinely edited to add and adjust benchmark result requirements.)
  9. a GTX 745 video card is kinda meh, but you should be able to play it still on low or medium. (but when the devs finish optimization I assume you will be able to run it alot better)

  11. Nobody replayed in PAX prime report... so i guess i will start a thread about that: Just a few questions about laptops Devs used for PAX: What specs were they? What fps did you get out of it?Did you run regular version of Logar or some kind of lite version? I mean, did it have all geometry and objects as regular Logar? Can those laptops run Kohat?Did you try to use them on CPA weekend events with full server? And if you did, what fps did u get?
  12. Sup everybody and devs, I would like to know an ETA or just an time approximation when you guys will release server files to the public? If so, what you need as current hardware to run the game at max capacity? Just in case, here's my server specs : - 2x Intel XeonE5-2630-v3 16c/32t 2,4ghz ~ 3,2ghz (burst) - 128GB of RAM ECC DDR4 1886mhz - 3 x 300GB SSD in RAID 5 (Intel S3500) - 1Gbps connection. If i want too, I can boost it to 10Gbps but it is not necessary.. With the specs above, I do know it is extremely powerful. However, can it support 100 players with no lagg and with good server frames? **** Will it be possible to play with server files, as example, to extend the amount of players who can join the game from 100 players to 150 players :) ? Thanks for quick answers.

  15. Hey Guys, Definitely considering purchasing the game (probably even helping out with the Kickstarter) however my computer doesn't work too well with other games such as Insurgency (although I can run games like ArmA III on lower settings with a decent frame rate). I'd just like to know how this game would work with the specs I have before decide to buy the game: Processor - Intel® Core i7-3632QM CPU @ 2.20GHz Video Card 1 - Intel® HD Graphics 4000 Video Card 2 - AMD Radeon HD 7730M Memory - 8.1 GB Operating System - Microsoft Windows 8 (build 9200), 64-bit Thanks!
