      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof) etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
        §10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   Section II: Forum Signatures   §1 Signature Dimensions
To avoid clutter, please make sure your signature (if you choose to have one) does not exceed the following size limit: 350x150 pixels. Your signature may consist of images, user bars and text elements, as long as the total size does not exceed 550 x 200 pixels. A small tolerance will be given, but any signature larger than the limit may at any time be deleted without prior warning. If you are not sure whether your signature is acceptable, please PM a moderator.   §2 Signature Content
All rules of section 1 fully apply to your signature. We will remove signatures or parts of signatures without notice if they violate the forum rules, and infractions may be given.   §3 Animated Signatures
Please refrain from using animated .gifs as signatures, they distract and clutter the forum.   Section III: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  1. Since there is a gazillion threads asking the same question over and over again, I've made a video to help people who are in doubt if their PC can run Squad. Hope it helps!
  2. Hello, Seasoned PR player here. I just purchased a new gaming laptop, and I'm hoping if someone can give me any idea if my PC can run this game at a solid 60 FPS or not. I haven't been able to play the game as of yet because of my shotty internet which I'm going to upgrade hopefully soon. I'm just hoping someone that has experience with computers can help me out, thanks again. SPECS: GPU: GeForce GTX 980M Driver Version: 381.65 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6820HK CPU @ 2.70GHZ RAM: 15.87GB Resoultion: 3840x2160, 60hz Operating System: Windows 10 Pro
  3. 1. Ok, first of all i understand what an alpha is and the fact that everything is subject to change, but my question is: 2. I am a PR player, and checked out squad during the free weekend, loved the game except one major part of it: the performance. I understand that optimization is not a priority now, and i agree with that fact that devs should focus on features first and lastly on optimization, because that's the natural way game development should work. 3. So my question is: after optimization will finally be done, could i expect a stable 60 fps? That is the only question keeping me from making the purchase, i have no problem waiting for that optimization and supporting the devs with purchasing the game as of its current state. I just want to know if optimization will improve the performance to that extent. And i also know the fact that this is a very hard question to answer without being speculative, but an educated guess could help me a lot with making that decision. Specs: i5 4690 gtx 1060 8gb ram
  4. Hello, My name is Gerard Wo. and I'm the Director of the Dept. of Emergency Services RP. We're currently looking for new players to join us in our freshly started community. We at the DESRP are looking for people who want to roleplay in different roles with different people. We want to make patrols realistic, or sometimes semi-realistic. We always try to create the best possible experience for every player. We want a community where people can come to with the feeling that they're going to have a nice patrol. We currently have 6 different departments. We have the Los Santos Police Department, the Blaine County Sheriff's Office, the San Andreas Highway Patrol, the San Andreas Fire & Rescue, the Communications Department and the San Andreas Citizens. The LSPD, BCSO, SAHP and the SAFR all have different Teams. Each Team specializes themselves into one specific task. When you reach the rank of Captain, you can apply for the task of being in charge of a Division, a certain area in the map. We're hiring for all the departments, so join the LSPD, BCSO or SAHP. If you don't have a legal copy of GTA V or is your computer not good enough? Join the Communications Department, or even Internal Affairs. There is always something for you to do here. We always strive for professionalism and close-to-reality, which is the reason we have an age limit, people of the age of fifteen (15) and up can submit their application. We also want to keep things funny. Let's create a professional and fun community together, one where maybe friendships can be born! You can always visit our website by clicking here. We hope to see you soon! Sincerely, Dept. of Emergency Services Command Staff

If you want to play the multiplayer for the game you'll have to do a little bit of Googling to find out how to play with others. https://www.gog.com/game/swat_4_gold_edition

  7. Hello, I just bought Squad today in order to play with my friends, although. When I start tried to start it up on Steam, the Launcher would show that it's loading and preparing to launch the game. I waited for a brief 4-5 minutes before wondering what was going on. I had opened task manager to see if it was truly running. It was. The CPU usage kept going up into the 1,000K region and I decided to try closing it but to no avail. ( http://prntscr.com/cr072n ) I've tried verifying its cache, restarting, clearing steam's download cache. Nothing yet. I am hoping that an admin or developer will see this and help me with this issue. (Also, please don't reply to this topic just to say that you have the same problem. It will save anyone else hassle if they were to have the same problem and were looking for a quick solution.)
  8. After reading this article and others about the demise of consoles after PS5 there will be no PS6 because companies will force gamers to go to streaming without a computer or box.....This would centralize control of all your gaming and you could not game without a internet connection; a high speed one at that. I do not think this would be wise for several reasons: 1. Company controls the software you bought and can stop you from playing any time and revoke your gaming rights. 2. A centralized system is highly succeptable to hackers and system failure. 3. Your access is dependent on your Service Provider having the hardware available on their cloud systems....you have no hardware...you could not access the system or net anytime you wanted and have no control on availability of that network. 4. You maybe charged by the minute, hour, day, month, year everytime you play and so could not pay once to play forever anymore, you wouldnt own game but only lease it each time you play. Are these enough reasons to say no to streaming games in near future? It is for me and I say no to this. Where do you stand? Here's article: Link doesnt work will have to type or search it in your browser.... http://Forbes Now: Ubisoft: Expect To See A PS5, But No PS6. http://google.com/newsstand/s/CBIwy6Ds9CQ
  9. I recently re-bought this game thinking that it had been improved. I had returned in previously because of performance issues with my 780ti. Now, I permanently have the game, and it doesn't play well on anything. I have two builds, the intel performs about 15fps better at 60fps, but my AMD build doesn't perform well at all, during combat situations, I get 40fps. Is there expected to be any solutions to the problems with AMD systems? Intel: AMD: 6700k Overclocked to 4.5Ghz AMD Fx 9590 32GB Dominator Platinum 3000MHz 32GB Vengence Pro DDR3 MSI 980ti OC Edition Sapphire Radeon R9 Fury X MSI Z170A M7 ASUS Sabertooth 990FX Please help, I love this game. It's the next best thing next to Arma 3. No Developer help? It should run on AMD and NVIDIA just as well, doesn't make any sense why they can't optimize it. Thanks
  10. My PC sometimes freezes while playing Squad. Latest one: I played for around ~40 Min and than the PC froze entirely. So, Squad is still open but it just gives me a freeze frame. No Audio. I tried to just wait for the freeze to go by, but nothing happened also after a half an hour. The only way to work on the PC again is by pressing its power button until it forces a shutdown. (A half of myself is always dying when I'm forced to do something like that :( After that I can start the PC the normal way and nothing seems to has happened. This occurs nearly every time I play.
  11. Welcome to the Squad Players PC Benchmarks Thread! The idea was born from the Show us your Rig for Squad thread. Forum user Switch0r suggested the creation of a thread since PC games tend to draw PC enthusiasts that like to test their systems with the latest and greatest. Ever since the creation of the home computer, users have been overclocking and tweaking their systems to maximize performance. This thread will serve as the place of discussion for everything PC benchmark related. Will your system be able to take the #1 spot? Post to find out! To make this as simple as possible, rankings will be based off of freely available benchmarks on standard settings. Available on Steam 3DMark demo 3DMark 11 demo 3DMark Vantage demo Users must follow these guidelines: (rules from Overclock.net) -Use default 3DMark settings -Your entry must contain: user name, CPU and clock, GPU('s) and of course the Pxxx score Like so: User-name --- 3770K @ 4.2 --- 7970 CF --- FS XXXXX -Your entry must have a Futuremark verification URL AND screenshot of your score Verification requirements: Screenshot 3Dmark benchmark settings 3DMark overall score 3DMark subtest scores CPU-Z CPU tab CPU-Z Memory tab GPU-Z Graphics Card tab (Screenshot example) *** Reserved for FAQ *** (This post will be routinely edited to add and adjust benchmark result requirements.)
  12. Hello, first of all i want to say that this game is awesome. I bought the game on Steam and I played it for a short time but I have 40-35fps more less and I dont know if its because of the optimization or I have other problem. I played on Epic at 30-40fps and on high at 35-40fps. My specifications are: -Motherboard MSI 970 Gaming -AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz -GTX 970 4GB G1 -Ripjaws 8 GB 2133 -750w Power supply -I have about 5 fan coolers and a big one for the cpu. Hope that somebody can help me, I understand that the game is on alfa but maybe its something that I missed

I feel like it should since it uses an out dated engine right? not as advanced graphics etc I just want 55 or more fps and it too look decent, can I do it on this laptop I'm using
  15. Hi all, I've been thinking about it for days as I can see everybody on many topics detailing their PC configuration for the needs of the topics. Seems nobody still suggested this. Why you wouldn't add a profile area where you could detail your PC configuration (at least RAM, CPU, GPU, MB, HDD or SSD, but the more details the more accurate the more it'd help) ? With a little icon near the player's avatar on each post you could hover with your mouse to instantly get a pic showing player's PC rig (or a button in that same with a link leading to the player's rig page). Exemple (if needed, I think i'm clear enough, but my english level may be not as good as I think it is XD) : See this page, (I chose it at random) First post, click the first icon after the post's date showing a head with a question mark, Down on the open page, click "Configuration matérielle : Lien vers la configuration de cet utilisateur" and you get the entire player pc rig. (Of course if youre logged in the forum then another icon is available and you just need to point on this icon and you get the rig, no need to go on user's profile) => See exemple TY for reading and see you on the BF ! 16. Hello all So iam considering about making my new PC. For now, i'd like to start with the "average" graphic card since i don't play games in high-end graphic, instead of maybe with medium graphic. I'm thinking about making PC with GeForce GT 740 . What is the possible build for this GPU? And with the cheapest possible way so it can have it max GT740 performance? (like when you bought GTX 970, you can buy i5 instead of i7 to take the GPU performance) Thank's
