Forum Rules 07/06/2016Introduction The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party. Section I: Posting Rules §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users. §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with. §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time. §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics, etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal. §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest. §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs. §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense. §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
§9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
§10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge. §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings. §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed. Section II: Reporting & Moderation §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments. §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules. §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly. §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

Greetings, I'm suggesting the implementation of a radial menu that allows players to perform hand signs. While it may seem like insignificant and unnecessary, it might come in handy for players who are unable to speak on VoIP for one reason or another. Sort of like emotes in other games. ^Random example I found in google.
Why is it that when I go into the firing range and choose the squad leader kit, I cannot pull up the squad leader menu by pressing T? When I am in an actual game it works fine but when I want to practice at the range, it does not work.
SilverSmerfer posted a topic in Software SupportWhen opening the menu, immediatley the mouse is visible in one place only. When I move out of that place it becomes invisble and doesn't work to click on anything. Please help!
biassFA posted a topic in Feedback & SuggestionsFrom what i had played, and excuse me if this had already been changed, but selecting weapons with the scroll wheel sometimes kicks you off after a timer and can lead you to select the wrong weapon/item, which could have bad results if an armoured vehicle was coming up the road and you pulled the HE rocket instead of the AP one. This can cause problems with some newer/slower players who might need to have a longer look through the menu to identify the item they want to select. My suggestion to change this, is to keep the menu permanently up until the left mouse or other select items are pressed, wherein the equipped item would swap to the one you had selected. If in a situation of panic, holding the right mouse button would both cancel the menu and also allow a player to aim down sights without major penalty. Waiting to hear what you think of my minor suggestion~
As it stands, current server browser is cumbersome to most casual players who may not own reserved slots on servers. The process of having to see 64/72 players in a server, attempting to connect, waiting to load, then getting booted back to home menu only to refresh servers again adds a level of frustration/tedium that could be avoided. I would suggest changing the client server browser so that it will show the number of reserved slots, and also have an option to prevent connection attempts for those who know they do not have reserved slots on any server. This would greatly reduce the amount of tries and time spent trying to connect to a well populated server with some ostensibly free slots. Some context/about me: I would consider myself a casual player with some experience in military simulation games like Arma 3. At times I find I launch Squad and try for maybe 10 to 15 minutes to connect to well populated servers while catching up with email or other simple tasks. Some days I do not find a suitable server in that amount of time and end up doing other things (be it gaming or just non-computer related stuff). I do like the squad community, though, compared to a lot of other games. So when I don't play Squad I usually don't play anything else for that computer session.
Hi guys, can someone get resolved to this problem ? 5 - 10 minutes and i'm stuck in game because i see only menu and game in background ... In all game, i try 10 - 15 servers, always be same, 5 - 10 minutes and i must disconnect ... some screenshoot: http://imageshack.com/a/img923/1623/tXSFFS.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img924/4145/oCXlYr.jpg imageshack.us/a/img923/3963/wqXcmo.jpg
I know they're supposed to speed up finding the role you want, but IMO the use of icons below role names in the ammo crate menu is confusing, and clutters the whole thing... I'd prefer if we returned to role names only. And am I the only one who finds hexagons a really weird shape for the menu?
I've noticed in game that the SL interaction can be hit or miss, but what I find more confusing is when multiple SLs are using their context menu and placing markers on the map. One suggestion I have is to only see markers placed by your SL that are non-enemy position markers (ie: move, attack, defend, etc). The enemy position markers should still show up as red, but if you see a shield or sword marker, you know it was placed by your SL and not another. Just a thought. The other option would be to color code or place a number over the marker indication which SL placed it but that might be too taxing on the UE4 in game mechanics.
In the game I tend to use my map for navigation but in all of the maps I've played on I notice that the map image is out of sync compared to the map itself. If you went into a corner on a map and check the map when you press M you can see the image is off by meters horizontally and vertically. I don't mind the map being off in huge maps such as Kohat Toi Valley or Fools Road but in closer quarter maps such as Sumari Bala it makes it difficult to navigate.
Sup' everyone, So I think that a lot of the things that I will talk about in this post might have been talked about between the devs, but I havent seen anything about it on the forums. So what i'd like to talk about is the -Main menu & options -Add friends in-game -Create squads First of all i'd like to talk about the options i'd personally like to see in the main menu, and for that I have made a small concept main menu. ((BACKGROUND IMAGE BY MELBO SEE THREAD http://forums.joinsquad.com/topic/250-melbos-thread-of-war-stuff/ )) Above you can see a main menu as I personally love them. Giving a lot of information and options in a clean format. First of all we've got the option 'quik match' which I think everyone is familiar with, this just allowes you to instantly join a game on your own if you do not want to join a specific server / just dont care. You would be able to select an amount of players, which mode, and which maps you would like to play. After that we have the option 'play with friends' which also kind of speaks for itself, this would allow you to create a squad and invite friends before you even enter a server. This way you could just hang around in the lobby waiting for all your friends to arrive and drop into action together. The squadleader (creator of the squad) can invite, kick, and give other players the right to invite so they can invite their friends. I'd like to see the option to invite friends in-game so I dont have to add them on steam if I don't want to. After that we have the good old 'server browser' no explanation needed there. Im sure it will include all information and options such as 'history' (shows previously played servers) 'favorites' (shows servers you have added to your favorit list) 'friends' (shows the servers your friends are playing on) and ofcourse the 'internet' (shows all servers) which should show your ping, if its locked or not , current players / max players, mode, map name, how far in to the round the server is, and maybe even if a friend is playing on it, or if you have previously joined it. Than we have the 'statistics' option, now I dont know if this game will keep track of your kills, deaths, revives, if it will have leaderboards of some sort? But if it did, i'd definetly like to have the option to see all your stats, maybe even your friends stats. The option 'manual' speaks for itself too, i'd like to have a link on the main menu to a .pdf or a forum thread with the full manual in there. An option 'forums' to quickly reach the forums from the main menu. 'credits' and 'quit' explain themselves. Besides all of this, i'd love to see this image from melbo be the background on the game menu. I absolutely frikin love this image it would just need a few adjustments. I know most of this stuff is obvious, and will probably be in the game, anyways let me know if you like or dont like some of the options I gave here, and if you miss anything on this list. cheers, TickL Me Tibbers
