      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

      Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
      Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics,  etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
      If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
      As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
      Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
      Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
      Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
      Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
      Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here. 
        §10 Images in posts
      When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
      .gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
      Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
      Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
      Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
      It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed.   Section II: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
      There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
      Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
      Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
      Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
      If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
      You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  1. M150 zero issues

    I've read the posts from Vewt regarding optics but he does not cover this issue. So going to the shooting range to test out some known implementations on the Trijicon TA31RCO-M150. At 400m and using the 400yard marker to the chest and firing does not drop the target. Once I get to my tracer round I notice that the bullets are falling left of target. Moving the BDC post to the right hand edge of the target the target falls. Now using an iron sights M4 with the zero adjusted to 400m I used my binoculars to find my center point, switched to the M4, fired, and back to binos to observe if my target was downed. Yes it was. Doing the same thing with the M4+RCO after finding my center point with the binoculars I switched over to my gun to find my center point, as you would guess, to the right of the target. I wouldn't say this is a grave issue, but it is an issue that has potential to impact game play.
  2. Weapon Recoil

    Since V12, most assault rifles have had drastically changed recoil patterns making them very hard to control. They're also unrealistically uncontrollable. For instance, a full auto m4 in-game literally has more hop than an m240b. In real life, it barely moves. You could say its game balance, but that doesn't matter considering that the m4 has just about the same amount of recoil as an AKM. V10/V11 had nearly perfect recoil patterns. It wasn't stupid like in v9, but it still made sense to a real-life counterpart. Simply revert the recoil that was present in v10, and all would be fine. At least change the full auto recoil for these guns, it's horrendous, especially after the iron sights on the Ak now are rendered differently, making it even harder.
  3. Old annoying bugs

    1.When I see how someone is actually shooting from M4 rifle by burst sometimes i don't hear sound of the shooting, the sound and animation work asynchronously. This is especially noticeable near. 2. I also want to notice that when you are trying to shoot by 1 bullet from m2 browning or NSV then other players hear burst or automatic shooting. 3. Rocket car bug has still not been fixed since A11. 4. Static-SPG LOD bug has been returned in A12. 5. Explosive shells of various automatic cannons(btr-82,Warrior, Bradley etc) are still useless. You don't receive any damage even if it hits two meters of you. Same problem with tank explosive shells. It must kill in 10m radius and wound 20m radius but at the moment you stay alive after 5m radius and don't receive any damage after 10m... 6. There is some strange GAMMA at some maps like Kohat and Gorodok. It is especially noticeable when you are placing radio or something else placeable and it is highlighted by different green color.
  4. Could folding stocks be added as a cosmetic? Like for example, you fold the stock and you have a little bit less control on your weapon but if you extend it again you have more control idk plox answer
  5. M4 3 Round Burst vs M4A1

    Not really a fan of the new feature that got rid of the full auto switch on the ACOG M4. We have semi-auto for a reason, and the M4 in the real world only comes in semi or full. If it were the M16 I'd understand, but aren't we trying to prioritize realism here? Any opinions on this? Besides that issue, I love everything about the new v10 update.

    Hey I didn't find anything abaut the US Army M4 rifles, but can u guys please change it to Burst/Semi and the militia to tave Automatic/Semi - Or maybe remove the M4 rifle from militia, and give it to the Insurgent faction. Will the M16a4 rifle aviable in the game, maybe change the US Army to USMC? Maybe more questions later
  7. M4 recoil bug.

    So if you fire a single shot in semi-auto and full-auto mode respectively, the semi-auto one would quickly recover from the recoil and have the reticle back on target instantly, the full-auto one would have the reticle reset above so you will have to re-aim manually. It makes no sense!
  8. M4 Sound Design

    The New Update is GREAT the frames are freaking fantabulous! Really good job Dev's. The issue I am going to address in this post is really just me nitpicking. Ever sense the new sound for the M4 was added ( a while ago) into the game it has bothered me. The M4 sounded too me very...well...Mehh. It lacks that satisfying punch that the AK-74 has in the game which btw shoots a smaller round. In the real life 5.56 is loud assssss phuucckkk, it is in fact louder then the 7.62x39 that the AKM fires. Especially out of a shorter weapon like a M4, 5.56 turns out to be around 160 - 170 decibels while the AKM with the 7.62x39 is around 150 - 160 decibels. Yet in the game the AKM has this very satisfying and loud thud while M4 sounds puny. All I ask is that you give the M4 the sound it deserves! A satisfying KERPOW!

    I need help guys, i just bought the game and i want to set optimal settings, i have evrything on ultra and the game looks ugly as ****. Can YOU post your setting here? i want to set it up.
  10. M4 Sounds in V6

    What do you think about the new M4 sound effects compared to the old sound effects and which do you prefer. My first thought was "cool new sound effects" but to be honest, i prefer the old sound effects.
  11. M4 Acog?

    May already be a topic, feel free to move! I feel the scoped/acog M4 is really inaccurate at range? Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me. Sometimes I can drop people one shot in the head, a majority of the time I fire half a clip and can barely hit them at the same distance and same situation. The scope for the AK's i do feel is more accurate, I get less trade kills and a much better ranged shot!

So ive been using the Militia variant m4 and while on burst ive notice its not actually cycling a full 3 round burst like it would in the real fire arm but more its automatic thats limited to 3 rounds at a time what i mean by this is if you tap fire on 3 round burst you'll actually only fire one or two rounds and not a full 3 but if you hold the trigger long enough you will cycle a full 3 rounds but to other people it will sound and give muzzle flash of fireing 3 rounds even though you have only fired 1, just wondering if anyone else has noticed this
  13. Militia small arms

    I propose to change some weapons of mitilia. I have a doubt about M249 and M4. Maybe some long barrel AR-carbine is more convenient to change M4. And what about M249...I think it is too expensive weapon to militia faction. FN FAL with wood furniture or old-good RPD (7.62x39) are good varients for support-unit, imo.
  14. Damage system

    Yesterday me and my friend tested damage of M4A1 and AK74M. Result was: 2 shots in torso (maybe only chest) to kill US-unit and RU-unit, equal. But I have a question: if we need 2 shots by 5.45x39 and 5.56x45 to kill unit, why SVD kills also by 2 shots? I don't like one-shot marskman rifle, but also I don't like when 5.45mm/5.56mm cartridge kills by 2 shots. So, I propose to reduce the damage of M4 and AK to 3 bullets to kill in torso.
  15. Well. We all saw the post regarding the new Aks being worked on. It is quite nice and I need to agree!!!!! However, do their is any possible way to make 1 more m4 kit or something? They can use the current one and only put a foregrip on it :3? They will only need to design a foregrip and nothing more? :huh: What about you guys? Squad devs keep up the good work :)!

    Is it me or does the m4 kick like an AK and the AK is far more controllable than the m4 at the moment.?
