      Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
      Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics,  etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
      If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
      As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
      Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
      Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
      Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
      Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
      Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here. 
        §10 Images in posts
      When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
      .gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
      Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
      Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
      Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
      It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly.       There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
      Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
      Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
      Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
      If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
      You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

Inconsistency in the Squad's 3d model of Insurgents Although a faction ONLY based on elements of real insurgency, all insurgent groups in both the Middle East and Southeast Asia adopt different Muslim branches but still moderate Islam rules. With this in mind, it is factual to say that it would be more consistent to have no insurgents wearing shorts in Squad game. As the Soo Kim report in The Telegraph newspaper points out, the Islamic countries' dress code is as restrictive for men as it is for women. For us from West and not Muslim, it seems just a silly detail, but it is not, even possible. Although I had no contact with paramilitary groups, insurgents or even local/regular army, I lived with local families (Sunnis and Shiites) as my Instagram records well. Outside the privacy of their homes, shorts in public are impossible for adults because of a considerable lack of respect in Islam controlled for own scared society.   2. So I find that when I play in pretty much any server, I get around 60% of the time is either America vs Russia, or Britain vs Russia. I don’t know why there can’t be more Militia and Insurgents team per match, or hell, even Canadians. I feel like they don’t get as much love as they should, and I find they are so much more fun to play with, since you got more vehicles to choose from, along with your weapons. And even the tactics change a lot to really get that Militia/Insurgent feel. I don’t know if anyone else agrees with me, but what would you guys suggest? More or less Insurgents/Militia

  4. Kept thinking on this idea rather than sleeping so here it is. I propose that when an IED is placed it becomes an interactive item with a radial menu like the Rifleman's ammo bag, rather than being immediatley armed and ready to be detonated. The options on the IED would be something like these: - Pick up: Everyone can do this, including enemy. For the scout the IED would go back into their equipment slot but all other kits would carry it in their hands until dropped. - Arm/Disarm: Only scouts can do this, and potentially an engineer/EOD type kit for conventional forces. - Set detonation phone number: Only the scout that placed the IED. Coupled with this, the phone detonator item would be changed so it would open a different radial menu like the Squad/Fireteam leader command menu. This menu would have three separate detonation 'phone numbers', which for ease of use should just be the last three numbers of a phone number (eg. **** *** 092). When you select one of these numbers it dials and detonates any IED set to that number. There is also the potential to share numbers between Scouts using this menu, but that's not particularly important for the suggestion. So why do this? Simply put, the IED is the most interesting and powerful piece of equipment for the Irregular forces, and given their current relatively weak performance compared to the conventional forces it's prime time to push their assymetric strengths further. This would also give the IED the ability to be carried and detonated. This would avoid the potential for certain countries to take legal action against the game because there would be no OWI created suicide vest in the game, but if players decide to use an innovative tactic with the game mechanics, so be it. There's also smaller details about IEDs that could be improved and expanded, like exploding when hit by another explosion or having counter-IED kits like an Engineer or EOD tech. Let me know what you think.

    Tag Leute, Mir ist aufgefallen das seit längerem der Rocket Technical nicht funktioniert, zuerst habe ich gedacht es liegt am Server, jedoch hat der Teci auch nicht auf dem Übungsgelände funktioniert. Man kann den Rocket pod steuern und ausrichten und sogar schiessen, jedoch fliegen die Raketen nicht und es gibt folglich auch keinen Impact, ich habe gehofft das der neuste Patch dies fixen würde, leider war dem nicht so. so oder so wollte ich euch nur schnell informieren und ich hoffe ich konnte helfen.     I just find it strange that the Militia is fighting in the desert, I guess it is with my server primarily doing this but still, I still find it strange that we got new INS models and stuff and now militia is fighting in the desert? I just dont think that layer should exist? I mean INS and Militia have very similar kits anyways so just gemme that little detail.

  9. Hi guys, My idea is allowing Taliban, insurgents, and other factions considered terrorist groups to "finish off" BLUFOR soldiers so they cannot be revived. This could help balance out the factions and let Insurgents ect. do more unique things that Convential Factions cannot as Geneva does not restrict them of it.
  10. Current insurgent model in the Al Basrah map is not matching with urban location. It's looks like Afghanistan insurgents in Iraq map. Team Please change the insurgent model to Iraqi style insurgents.
  11. I'm surprised I didn't find a thread about this! I dunno about you guys but as my two favorite factions (such nice weapon variety) I'd love to see maps that pit the Insurgents and Militia against each other. It might seem a mite contrived, but we do have maps with Militia in the Afghani maps (for some reason, even though their dark green outfits make them stick out even more than Insurgents). It's not like this game relies heavily on some kind of cohesive narrative. What do you guys think? Do fast-moving techie duels and abundant AKMs sound as fun to you as it does to me?
  12. Simple: implement the ability to team switch to all available teams and spawn in as Militia and Insurgents. This might not be possible if the two team limit is hardcoded, so an alternative would just to implement an alternative menu option for irregular firing ranges. This seems like a really basic suggestion but I couldn't find it using search, so if it's already on the roadmap I apologize.
  13. Hey can someone or one of the Devs tell me how the IED's will function in Squad? I'm intrigued by the art of "ALLAHU AKBARING" and I would very much like the IED's to resemble much of like real life, maybe a medium blast range (75m) and a very loud explosion that can be heard miles away, followed by gorgeous black/thick smoke effects shooting up way into the sky like a cloud, that should make people feel terrified. Shrapnel would carry over the length of the bomb blast, clinking against solid objects. If close to the explosion a vibration should be heard, like a really loud speaker, followed by a Tinnitus sound effect, and a ringing of the ear (in game audio of course). Sound should also in my opinion channel around different urban/non-urban settings (through corridors, mountains, etc). Even have the sound of the explosion sound different indoors. Dirt should spit up on detonation of the bomb, heck, even add a small stringy like blood effect to be seen when enemies are caught in the explosion. The new smoke physics being implemented will make for some great smoke effects. (Maybe even add a voice that yells something in Arabic, before he activates the detonation, if not that's okay). In regards to the placement of explosives, AT Mines should function like they do in PR (digging them underneath the ground), and i also think IED's should be more like Insurgency where you just place it down instead, or maybe give an option to set them down however you like: disguised or not disguised (that's where shovels will come into play). Edit: okay maybe 500m is a bit of a fetch. I think the blast radius of the IED in game should be around like 75-100 at most. 150m should maybe be for like a car/truck bomb or something.   14. hello everybody, i thought maybe it is a good idea to give the Insurgent Forces (and maybe even the Militia) a SL Kit like a G3A1 + Optic like the US and RU have otherwise these fractions, especially the Insurgents are underpowered... it has not to be a G3 but some weapon with scope would make the balance of the fraction at least more even... but i dont know of the devs plan's so lets see i am quite curious how the battle feels like when US got their power vehicles and Insurgents got their goats

  17. Hey, I noticed during the gameplay footage that the only ak I saw was a ak74? After reading into the forums I found that plenty more were on the way including akms and more, but a lot of the times the insurgents in these conflicts would have Cold War weaponry (original AK47s) so it may sound picky but a original soviet AK47 would be nice (it looks better) and there are differences, everything else seems fine but some insurgents to this day still use old bolt action rifles like the mosin Nagant and lee Enfield so them with a sniper option of both would be nice and one last request, I saw the Makarov, love it but a lot of insurgents have tokarev TT33s so they would be nice to have as a more powerful alternative to the Makarov and this has been requested before but a FN FAL would be nice too, thank you.

  19. So I just had a great match of territory control on Sumari Bala with Militia vs Insurgents, we lost but it was an amazing slog. The squad I was in was tasked with taking the North of the map, and we did just that but sadly the rest of the team couldn't get a foothold in the south. By the end we were making a last stand in the police station and it was a blast. I know a lot of people are more interested in conventional armies battling each other, but for me irregular forces fighting is what I love and I'd like to hear about any good matches of Militia vs Insurgents you've all had.
  20. PTRS (Anti-Tank Rifle)

    For the insurgents I think it would be cool to add a PTRS Anti-Tank Rifle as the gun for Rifleman AT as insurgents, if you are given the choice for an alternate kit. An RPG has it's quirks, but an AT rifle would be a good choice as a longer-range approach to taking out targets. In the stats above, you can see it won't be very effective against tanks, but it could still tear through something like a Humvee, Logistics truck, or other lightly armored vehicles. While an RPG would do an excellent job, it would be very tricky to hit a fast moving target. This PTRS wouldn't have nearly as much of a problem, and it would still pack alot of punch and deal a fair amount of damage to the vehicle. I think it would be a good option to have for players who would prefer to use an accurate, sniping sort of AT weapon to support their teammates. It also wouldn't lead a nice, big smoke trail to your doorstep, inviting that vehicle you just barely missed to shoot directly at your pretty obvious position as it falls back. As for realism, I don't know if any insurgent forces in the world actually use this gun. I doubt they do, but IRL there is alot bigger threat of an Abrams rolling around than in a game like Squad, as there can only be a few on the battlefield at once. Here is a size reference of the gun compared to a person: It's a pretty big gun and I could easily see it being useful against light targets (which you should, in theory, be seeing more of than heavily armored targets), as a stealthier approach to taking out your foes. It'd by no means be invisible, but more effective than an RPG at longer ranges. It could also have bullet penetration. On surfaces an RPG would just explode, the PTRS round might be able to pierce through the cover and hit someone or something behind it, while the RPG would only really would the person instead of killing them. EDIT: I just thought I might add that it would be a good idea to give a pistol as a secondary. 2nd Edit: I regret putting up a poll. It's not helping at all.   21. Giving the insurgent faction ability to Hotwire enemy light armor and use it for themselves would be a very interesting concept and a way for insurgents to gain an edge on the battlefield. The process could take several minutes and then insurgents would have access to it, maybe marking it with a flag of their faction and changing the texture to one that has been spray-painted with black splotches. If the vehicle is destroyed tickets would be taken away from the insurgents. Only 4 Light Armor vehicles (no APCs or Helicopters ect.) would be able to be hotwired each round. Thoughts? Which kit should be able to perform a Hotwire- a sapper?
