      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof) etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
        §10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   Section II: Forum Signatures   §1 Signature Dimensions
To avoid clutter, please make sure your signature (if you choose to have one) does not exceed the following size limit: 350x150 pixels. Your signature may consist of images, user bars and text elements, as long as the total size does not exceed 550 x 200 pixels. A small tolerance will be given, but any signature larger than the limit may at any time be deleted without prior warning. If you are not sure whether your signature is acceptable, please PM a moderator.   §2 Signature Content
All rules of section 1 fully apply to your signature. We will remove signatures or parts of signatures without notice if they violate the forum rules, and infractions may be given.   §3 Animated Signatures
Please refrain from using animated .gifs as signatures, they distract and clutter the forum.   Section III: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  1. After downloading SQUAD V9 the game ran fine then today I got on steam and tried to start Squad. The launcher opened as always but then after finishing loading it closed and the game never launched. I tried launching the game without steam and same thing happened then I launched the game without the launcher and it worked, but I previously knew it didn't matter because without launching with the launcher the game is unable to join online sessions. If anyone has a solution or any idea as to what is wrong I'd love to hear about it.
  2. So I bought squad and when I first booted it up it wasn't responding so I looked up how to fix it i deleted squad in the USER/Appdata fix and that did nothing and then i deleted and reinstalled I restarted steam and verified the game cache and I booted it in windowed mode and it still doesn't work
  3. Recently upon starting my game An extremely loud static noise started blaring instead of the usual start up video music, similarly, in the main menu a similar noise plays but it appears to be just a extremely distorted version of the normal menu music. I've verified the files, cleared my cache and even reinstalled the game but this problem still persists. Is there any way to fix this? Video of the issue:
  4. I would really appreciate some finishing help on my tall 3D apartment building now, trying to get the stairs to the roof fixed (after that I'll try to add textures, 3d objects in rooms etc.). Almost all apartments complete, should pretty much only be few doors and windows missing (I can finish all windows/doors, but if you want to do it, please make it precise, compare it to the existing heights/values of doors/windows. Several of the values of the house are even after german industry standards lol I looked up some values on internet) Here you can access it via TinkerCAD (I made a private backup ofc) or you can download the .OBJ file here: https://ufile.io/22e301 TinkerCAD direct access here (free autodesk account required): https://www.tinkercad.com/things/ceERKh2TKIG-house-3-rich-basement-stairs/editv2?sharecode=4DLfWKNtrSbXf9rV-Ds0j7bQjSEemZBY_4TgGVNolw0= click here for free 3D view, walls made invisible for view (Sketchfab): -> -> -> -> -> -> https://skfb.ly/66oDY <- <- <- <- <- <- And ofc. we will share credits for this asset (I have an idea for an easteregg in the texture ) Setup will probably be like "as war started, all citizens abandoned the house and only left few things in it" (big furniture), also I'd say 5-10 apartments totally empty, like they hadn't found tenants yet. Each aparment will have small bathroom, small kitchen and bedroom (just like my old apartment had lol). WIP screenshot (not latest):
  5. I have a I76700 GTX950 16bg ram and can provide more specs if needed. So basically i should be able to run the game on ultra right? BUT I CANT! I run the game at about 30-40 fps! Please help! I play at 1920x1080 on all low settings on forest maps i get 30-48 and on desert maps i get 50 on my favorite settings which are txxa high effects medium shadows high/epic view distance medium/low foliage. I get 38-50 fps on jungle maps but mostly 30-40 on forest maps and on desert maps i get 53-67 it moves a lot lol. I tried doing the command -useallavaliblecores but that didn't help either. So if you can help me or tell me anymore commands that would be great!
  6. When I try to export my final Base_color texture, it exports not correctly, but in viewport all is ok. I have tried to use any formats(png, targa), but it didn't help. Pls help me to fix it.
  7. Hello, I have had a problem with Squad i have never had before. Whenever i open the game it stops me from opening it, and says "Close PCHunter64". I have looked everywhere for the said program but nothing. Build Number: Alpha 9 and happened in build 8.9 Screenshot <-- GIF Screenshot <-- JPEG
  8. Hi guys, could someone help me solving those errors? When I try to load my server I have those errors and the server doesn't appear on the server browser list in the game. Thanks in advance for the help!
  9. Hey all. Just bought Squad a couple of days ago and its really fun besides the game stuck around 30-40 FPS no matter what graphic settings, everything low vs everything high does not improve or reduce my FPS. I noticed too that my video card just sits there and does nothing when I watch it in MSI Afterburner, it ramps up in GPU usage and clock speed for every other game I play. Also it even under clocks at certain points which is weird. I tried to maxium power setting in the Nvidia control panel for global and the game itself settings with no improvement either. I should be able to max this game out with at least 100+ FPS right? here are my specs i7-6700 @ 4.0Ghz 16GB DDR4 RAM (2133Mhz) MSI Aero GeForce GTX 1080 OC'd - 2706Mhz Core Clock / 5557Mhz Memory Clock.
  10. Specs: i5 4430 8 gigs ram standard 1tb hdd gtx 1060 6gb (i believe its evga) im getting same dreary 40ish~ fps on an almost full server with all settings low (increasing visual settings doesn't seem to affect the fps) halp
  11. hey guys, it's quite long time ago, but already during the very first updates they have worked on a solution of bending the leaves, gras and flowers around the body while you move through them or lay down on the floor. Currently they still stick all the way between my guns eyesight and my vision. Have they said anything about not implementing this feature ? I'm waiting for this to be implemented since a very long time. edit: it was February 2016 recap, that they have shown us this, it's called bending foliage. no one knows really more about it, they said it's already in the game, but walk passed a tree or lay down on the floor, they dont move, or bend out of your face. Something like wind would be nice too in the game. thx for the info
  12. Hey there, I have been trying to figure out how to disable the default gamepad/controller controls of squad. I like to set up my xbox one controller with 3rd party software so I can play with a hybrid gamepad/mouse setup but I haven't been able to disable squad's default controls to stop my keybinds and squads from fighting each other. I found another post on here where a programmer stated the following.. Motherdear: "Go to the defaultinput.ini in the app config folder/ game folder and find everything with the gamepad tag and delete it manually, our binding system is very basic atm and isn't slated for updating for a while sadly" Seems pretty straight forward so I go into said input folder and delete all mentions of gamepad save and still have the controls fighting me, then delete them another way with no luck and eventually remove defaultinput.ini from the game all together and the controls are still there. Idk what I am doing wrong, if I am overlooking something, or if you just can't do it this way anymore? Any help or insight is greatly appreciated!
  13. Hello i bought squad i started the game but couldn't find any servers i tried turning off my firewall and reinstalled the game my steam max pings/minute is set on 500 i really need help

  15. Hello, I'm afraid it's another 'What performance can I expect?' question! (Haven't found the answer in any other threads so far) My rig is: CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 at 3.00GHz GPU: Nvidea GTX950 2GB RAM: 8GB Resolution: 1600 x 1200 Any idea on how/if this will run it or anyone with similar stats how the game is running on your system? Thanks!
  16. Hey lads, As the title suggests, I'm just writing a few hints and tips for people new to the game and even reminders for those who have played for a bit. First thing's first - this is the link for the Squad Wiki Here. Make this your first port of call if you have any questions, as this page may answer them. There is a link here for beginners that has some short video's on the very basics. If you want to watch some top clans verse each other every week - check out Community Clan Fight Night - CCFN. - For v8.1 updated tips scroll to the bottom - Disclaimer* Obviously, there are times where these aren't the letter of the law. They're only here as a guide. And for the forums in general, for the love of god use the search function! If you have the time, I highly recommend going to the Squad League YouTube channel and watching some of the clans vs. each other - Apart from being highly entertaining, you might even learn something. General: Try to at least be semi-mature when playing. If you know the guys though, by all mean get loose. You don't wanna be the 1 scaring the new players away. On that note, if you're new or unsure please ask. Most mature players would be more than happy to help! Don't just shoot at anything in the distance. If they're out of range they are just that. If you shoot for the sake of it, your beautifully orchestrated flank has just been ruined by 1 click of the mouse. If you are maneuvering as a squad trying to flank, and are outside of the 'Danger Zone', if you spot an enemy, ask your SL if you're able to fire before ruining that perfect flank. Don't look in the same direction as everybody else. Keep your head on a swivel and try to anticipate what the enemy is doing. Please for the love of god, 'column of blob' is not a tactical formation and only increases the chance of multiple casualties. Try to play slower and smarter - Rushing something might just get you killed. *NOTE: I'm not saying try to emulate real life in this video game. It may look and sound good on paper, but this is just a game, so play it as a game not as a simulator. You're not worrying about actually taking one in the face or stepping on a bloody IED, so move a little faster when it's tactically sound. When you're defending a point, try to keep at least a 10-20m spacing. HE weapons are very effective, as per the MG's. Play to your factions strength and try to pull the opposing team out of theirs. Some players believe the INS team is hard done by, but that's just because those idiots try to out-distance ACOGs with iron-sights. Close the gap dummy. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. If your plan isn't working, change it. This whole game isn't about a KDR, it's about playing the objective but playing smart. BUT, having a good KDR AND a good squad score will definitely help your team out. DON'T bunch up! When you're running around the map trying to locate the enemy, try to manage your stamina so you have half a bar minimum at all times. You never know when you'll need to do a quick sprint. If you're close to the enemy or you think you are, take a breather and regain your stamina before advancing to contact. Same with crossing open ground, hold off in cover or concealment and then sprint across. Reload when you get the chance. Don't go into battle with only a few rounds in the mag. No bang bang makes for a lot of black screens. If you're injured, put a bandage on yourself. Just whip that FAD out and hold the RMB. Save your poor medics some time and their all important FAD's! If you see someone go down and the area is safe, put a bandage on your fallen comrade. They still need one even if you can't see it! Tell your medic that he has been bandaged and reap the benefits and praise from your 2 battle buddies. Constantly hit "M" and check the map, you will want to know who is around you and where. When you're close to an objective, GET INSIDE THE CAP ZONE!! I can't stress this enough. Sheer numbers change the battle to your favor. Clear and concise target indications. For example: "2 enemy bearing 245 at 200m", or "Reference 2 story swiss cheese building, eastern edge, 1 enemy", or even "contact front, danger close/contact front 100m". When building/destroying emplacements, don't everyone whip out your shovels. Try to have a max of 2 shoveling while the others pull security. DON'T bunch up! Squad Leaders: There is already a thread Leadership Behaviour. Try to emulate some of the better Squad leaders. You can find a thread on a few Squad Leader Recommendation. What makes a good squad leader is here. FOB placement. All you really need to know for now is FOB placement basics. Medics: Triage - if there are multiple casualties, bandage guys and heal em so they are up and then over local get them to "find cover" and heal them in a safer location. DO NOT bunch up and heal the same guy if there are enemy around or it's in the open - I can not stress this enough. Yes points are cool, but losing both medics due to greed is not. Remember you're a support player, try to hold a little back and keep your men up. Same with a FOB location, you should be shoveling while the other "fighters" fight. Once you've finished healing someone make sure you re-equip your bandage before moving on. You don't wanna be hit bad while having your med pouch out. Chances are you'll bleed out! LAT/RPG: BBDA - Back Blast Danger Area!!! This doesn't mean say "back blast" and then shoot - actually check or give some warning you're about to fire so people have time to actually get out of the way. Pre-equip the correct warhead before going into battle. If you can get away with it, try not to shoot that thing in the middle of a group of your friendly troops. It makes a big bang at the far end, but also gives away your position with the back blast. If you're going to fire it, relocate every time. Vehicles: It takes 2 people minimum to claim a vehicle and a SL can't approve unless he is in an active SL role (spawned in and playing). At the start of the round, follow your squad leader around the vehicles and for the first minute, just be quiet and listen to what he wants and jump into what you need. Might is right, don't try to attack a BTR with a HMMWV (Humvee) unless you know what you're doing. Squad Leaders: To assign a vehicle it's much quicker and easier for you to right click and accept the vehicles on the map - hit enter to bring up the map/command view. Try to put the .50cal bunkers where the gunner is somewhat protected - no point having a pretty decoration because the hapless gunner keeps getting sniped. FOB's now take 5mins before they can spawn in troops - unless a Logi truck reinforces within that time.
  17. Every time i try and start the game, it opens the launcher and when the loading bar gets to the very end it stops and i get a "Squad.exe- System Error" error. The error is this : "The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-|1-1-0.ddl is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem" I have tried reinstalling the program and that didn't work. please help! is there some way to download the runtime crt file so i can play the game?
  18. I've been trying to launch squad for the past several hours with no luck. It keeps freezing at the initial loading screen. I've let it sit for about 30 minutes twice with no result. I've verified integrity multiple times in steam. I've completely deleted the game and redownloaded/reinstalled it twice. Nothing seems to be working. I've checked on google and have tried just about everything under the sun with no result. Someone PLEASE help! My PC can most definitely run the game. I've been playing it for the past month with no issue.
  19. So this is a stupid question but I've looked in settings and couldn't find it (I've probably been staring at it for the past hour), I've tried looking for questions related to it but there mostly just how to add such and such to signature. so sorry if this has been asked, but how do I add one... thanks
  20. So i run squad on epic at nearly 100 fps but sadly for some reason it still looks like shite or play doh and i am 99.9% sure that it has to do with my graphics card which is a intel intergrated graphics 530 yes i know its crappy and i have a i5 6400 T cpu with 4 cores and 12gb of ram and i really want my game to look good please help! thanks
  21. I need help on how to join a multiplayer game. They all seem to have a locked emblem on the and when I click join game nothing happens even when there are slots open. Please Help!!
  22. anybody here knows a good setting for, itel core i5 6400 nvdia 1060 the expensive one with a 1080p monitor iwant to record my games, with good quality and good fps
  23. Within the first 30 to 60 seconds of launching this game, I get this fatal error crash every single time. It used to run fine, but since version 7, and now with version 8, it crashes every single time. I just want to be able to play this game. Why won't the developers just fix this instead of adding new vehicles? I'm so tempted to leave a VERY bad review of this game on steam simply because the developers have not made fixing this a priority, which they should. I love this game when it worked, now it is a steaming pile of shit because it simply doesn't work. I've looked through every other thread on this subject, I've tried many solutions. Nothing has worked so far. I verified the integrity of my game cache, that hasn't fixed this either CPU - i5 6600k. GPU - GTX 1070 Strix OC (over clocked with GPU tweak, game crashes with and without OC so it makes no difference). Ram - 16gb of 2133 DDR4 Ram. Motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-H110M. Operating System - Windows 10 64bit. Please Squad developers, please, fix this shit.
  24. so im building one, im going for the ADM FX-8350 octa core im having a problem with the Mobo ineed. motherboard. iwas going for gigabyte h110m-ds2 socket 1551 is it compatible or do ineed to go for MSI 970 GAMING MOTHERBOARD? help me please
  25. Hey Guys, So switched back to windows 7, I reinstalled the game and when I run it I get this message... Please help me. The error states Squad.exe - System Error: The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime|1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. I have tried everything I can but I cant seem to find the problem. Regards Tox PS. I have a friend with the same problem.
