      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics,  etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
        §10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed.   Section II: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  10. Hello. So this is an issue that is probably well known by now, and before it is said, yes I did research the issue to no avail. The issue: When playing the game or just going into the firing range, I load up successfully with a good amount of frames (45-60 FPS). I can walk around fine, but after just about a minute or two I begin to hear some audio stuttering. If that's not the correct word for it, its basically like the audio freezes with the frame and makes an odd noise (like deep, static bass with some static popping in the background.). Of course, my frames begin to freeze every 3-5 seconds. Sometimes 10 seconds. Firing a weapon produces the noise and makes the game freeze more and for a longer period of time. Obviously, this is not playable. This is my gaming rig. I know AMD has a lot of issues with Unreal Engine, but that cant exactly explain for a very common issue now. Even when optimization was relatively poor or non-existent and FPS was trash, I didn't have this issue until after the last update really. AMD FX 8350 Eight-Core APU PNY GeForce GTX 960 GPU 8GB of RAM, 2x4GB @ 1866MHz MSI 970 GAMING Motherboard Corsair H80i GT CPU/APU Watercooler My rig is due for an upgrade, but seriously. Every game I play performs fantastically. I don't really get it. Any help will be great. Also, I've already tried the following. Drivers checked, up to date. Game Cache Cleared (Both in-game and manually in the local application data directory). Re-installed game. Adjusted settings, failed attempt resulted in my clearing the cache again.
  11. Hello guys! This guide is to help people who are seeking technical support for Squad. Let’s start! Before anything else, I need to know what kind of rigs do you have (Feel free to just copy and paste the form) Specify the following; OS: CPU: May I reminds you that if Squad crashed when O.C'ed it will be a culprit GPU: May I reminds you that if Squad crashed when O.C'ed it will be a culprit RAM: May I reminds you that if Squad crashed when O.C'ed it will be a culprit (It is for the most of EAC related; "Unknown file version..... pak file type ) Is your RAM page file size set to automatic? The default save location for squad log files is %LOCALAPPDATA%\Squad\Saved\Logs Did you take a long break from Squad and just came back? Welcome back! I need to remind you that Unreal Engine 4, in which Squad is designed with, had a major update on September of 2017. If it was before that time you played the last, you MUST do a clean re-install of the game. Click ‘Reveal hidden contents to see how to: Are you missing part of screen? Per say like compass? You need to adjust in-game resolutions according to your monitor. Are you seeing a green fog in the field like this? It’s known graphic glitch. Exiting the server and joining back should fix it. Does your screen flickers with green lines appearing across the screen? Are you not able to connect/see the server from the browser? 1. Is your connection wired or wireless? Make sure you are connected wired. 2. Right click steam > settings > in-game > look for server browser max pings / minute > set to 500 Are you using reshade? Your mic not working? 12. SNEAKY Scout guide

VIDEOGUIDE: TEXTVERSION: Hello Solider, I am Stormsolid and today we are going to look at the Scout class and how to use it properly. Let's get this guide started aye? Gear Let's start with your gear before we start talking about tactics and how to move around with the scout.Your main rifle no matter if you play as a insurgent or militia is the SKS or Samozaryadny Karabin sistemy Simonova a semi automatic carbine. Here a quick weapon guide:You have 8 magazines with each having 10 rounds in them. The calibre of this gun is the seven point six two by thridynine millimetersThe SKS has a muzzle velocity of 715 m/s which means your damage falloff starts at onehundred and fifty meters and ends at twohundred and fifty meters. In these onehundred and fifty meters you are going to deals seventyone damage per shot while it's going to drop to thirdy five damage per shot after twohundred and fifty meters. You need five point seven seconds for a dry reload and four point five for a tactical reload.Oh and here two fun facts, looking at the squad development kit you can see that the SKS is usinga) the same projectile as the M One Ten and the SVD.b) the SKS it's damage curve, is the same as the AKM. Both use the "AKM_DamageCurve"As a scout you also have a Makarov with 2 magazineswith each having 8 rounds. You deal 32 damage with one shot Now let's talk explosives The scout has one RGD-5 Frag grenade. One TM-62 Anti-Tank mine,One IED or improvised explosive deviceand of course a phone detonator for handy wireless detonation! You also have 2 smkoe grenades, 2 field dressings, one shovel to construct and destroy stuff.aaaaanndddd binoculars, important tool. Yes you heard me right, very important but we're going to talk about that in a second. There is also these 5 rocks also called "decoy rocks" aka. "nothing to see here" rocks. The Sneaky Scout Guide The Sneaky Scout Guide:-Sneaky Scout Guide?-Movement-Hunting Enemy vehicles-Spotting Sneaky Scout Guide - General Information The sneaky scout guide is about a playstile that's focused on playing like you are a ninjathat wears a Kufiya instead of a black mask.as the sneaky scout you mainly try to avoid being arround blueberries.Your primary targets will be vehicles and your secondary targets will be FOBs or HABs.With the ablity to kill vehicles that cost 28 or more tickets like the BTR Eigthytwo A and or killing FOBs worth twenty tickets you have a lot of power. Movement Flanking. If you don't hear an enemy vehicle shooting somewhere that you need to hunt you are on the search for enemy FOBs.Efficient ways to hunt FOBs is to find a area where both teams are heavily fighting.Let's say you are on sumari fighting for palaceand trying to flank the enemys but not engaging them.If you spot 2-3 people coming from the same direction you will try to estimate where the FOB or rally could be.Even by destroying "only" a rally you might force the enemy to respawn at main and to take a vehicle with which they hopefully are going to drive over one of your mines. If you found a FOB and you're alone I'd advise you proceed like this:plant your IED somewhere next to the radio and start digging, if you can dig it down to stage 2 you can start running to a safe position and blow up the IED.The IED is going to kill 2 stages of the FOB.If you dig and get killed while doing so you have to quickly spawn at your main and call your loved ones with the phone detonator! You will probably kill the people who just started digging it up and almost destroyed it.Hunting Enemy VehiclesIf you want to hunt vehicles you need to listen closely and watch the map everytime your not sure if that vehicle shooting wasn't a friendly one.For this you can ask your Squad lead if there is a enemy vehicle that is holding him back somehow, maybe he want's to get on a cap but can't because a BTR is watching the cap.If you know the area is hot and that there are going to be infantry people I suggest going full allahu akbar bike.if the vehicle is in a remote possition where you probably won't find many enemy infantry people you should try to sneak up on him and blow him up by etherA) planting an IED behind him and blowing it uporB) planting a mine right next to him which will kill him and you instantlyI prefer B if I am out in the middle of nothing and if I have no vehicle to get back to a ammo crate, in any other case I'd rather plant the IED and get it that way.Just keep in mind that the enemy vehicle won't instantly blow up when you try it with and IED, they have a good 4-6 seconds untill the vehicle is going to die because of the fire.Which means if you show yourself to the gun in that time you will probably get to eat some democracy. Spotting So I mentioned you having binoculars. The reason why it's important for you to use them is that you can call out enemy vehicles that you might not be able to kill because of some reason.Let's say we're on mestia, you are here, at the railway and just saw a Stryker going down the road towards warehouse. You see that there's a squad waiting to cap, you call out the Stryker to your Squadlead like this:Squad lead, I just saw a Stryker driving towards warehouse, please report that to squad 3!By doing this the vehicle won't supprise the squad and they will probably be ready to shoot the Stryker when it's coming up on them. Here three more tipps!1.If you want to use a bike and stick your ticket to heaven on itTry to rearm before you join the battle so if this ticket doesn't work anymoreyou have a backup!2.If you want to sneaky up on someoneWalking is generally better than driving.Your footsteps aren't as loud as a engine.3.If it's urgent you can ask your squad lead if he's fine with you taking the small logi truckIt costs your team 3 tickets and respawns in 3 minutes.Enjoy this knowledge with caution though,if you don't ask your squadlead and he was about to rush somewhere and set up a FOB you can destroy his plans with that.
  13. ANGRY Medic Guide

VIDEOGUIDE: TEXTGUIDE: Hello you peasants, I am Stormsolid and today I'm going to show you how to play the medic correctly on the battlefield since you monkeys need a passive aggressive doc to teach youSo let's get this shitshow started shall we?Let me introduce you wannabe medics to your gear. You have a rifle that goes pew use it to shoot bad guys. if it goes out of ammo you take your smaller pew. This is important since switching your weapon will be faster than reloading your main gunokey the 'nade is self explanatory. Listen here you little sh*t, the next piece of equipment is called a smoke grenade. It is an important tool of every medic and thats the reason why I need to be a little bit more precise when talking about this.If you are playing on the side of the battle that is heavily exporting freedom you should keep in mind that your smoke grenades open up to the right sideand if you are on the side that is importing freedom unwillingly you should keep in mind that your smoke grenades open up bidirectional. It also can happen that you have a small open gab in the middle of your smoke, this varies and does not happen everytime so just keep it in mind.A quick reminder for all the people who are to stupid to use them, try to block enemy sight to the person you want to get to.Don't just ♥♥♥♥ing throw the smoke grenades on them like you are trying to call in an airstrikebecause if you do that the smoke acts like a rpg magnet, trust me. Now to the medical stuff...No matter on which side of the battle you stand on you have 6 of those babies, most casual idiots call them bandages even though their name are field dressings, I do it myself but I am not a Left mouse button to use it upon other people and right click to use it on yourself. To be as efficient as possible try to not get shot so you don't have to use them on your own worthless body.If people are alive and they are bleeding tell them to bandage themselvesBecause for every bandage you use on a bleeding dimwit who could bandage himself you lose one opportunity to revive a dead guyand you better cover them while they bandage and don't just sit there with your medicbag in your hands n The following part is just a quick PSA.If Melbo or I see two medics on one guy sick rhymes I knowbut if our dirty and infected eyes see that kind of a behavior you have a ****ing problem with usOkey so there is the medicbag too right? That's the thing you use on soldiers who are hurt but not bleeding. Easy.Left symbol means you need to use a bandage and the right symbol means you need to use the medic bag.you and your fellow heroes aka medics are the only people with this equipment so look at it as the special equipment it is.one simple rule I follow with this tool is:If I am suppost to heal you, you are suppost to cover me while I do that because if you look at me like I am a french model I will not kiss you but beat up with my medicbag. This following small section is for the ♥♥♥♥♥♥s who decided they don't want to be the brave man who plays the medic.Everytime you cheeky bastards don't cover but look at a medic while he is healing you, reload your ****inging weapon like the deserved receiver of golfclub hits you are or surrender just when I bandaged you I will shoot a new squadie in the knee. And the last thing, if want me to ignore you please just scream medic a couple of hundred times like I am blind and can't see big red signs on my screen that tell me you are deadso write down,When a medic is healing me I will never ever look at him, I will cover the area so we don't get killed together,I do NOT reload while I am getting healed, I will cover the are so we don't get killed togetherIf I see a medic running to my body on the map and I know I have to surrender because of some idiotic reason I tell the medic in local chat BEFORE he bandages meand lastly, set your priority on Squad leaders and other medicsnever start a buddyteam with the second medic in the squad and try to keep a good 10 meter distance to him at any given moment
  14. Welcome to Fire Truck's basic communications guideline for Squad. The following guide will cover the basics of calling out enemy locations and movements in the most effective and concise manner for those otherwise less-informed players. The information used in creating this guide comes from various sources, including some U.S. Army Blue Cord soldiers and Professional Firefighters. For starters I would like to say thank you to the new players for purchasing the game and welcome to our awesome community. While we know that at times Squad can be a very complex game, there are certain key elements to the game that, if used effectively, can drastically improve the outcome of your squad and team's performance during a match. The element we will cover today is what I personally consider to be the most important, communication. With the large influx of new players after the free weekend and the steam sale, I have noticed a couple verbal "errors" (for lack of better word) through local and squad chat as well as command comms. This guide will cover the basics in order starting with local and ending with some tips on improving SL or Command comms. Local: Local voice chat is something used to speak to personnel in your immediate vicinity (25m in all directions). This is most beneficial for calling out enemy locations or "bearings" as we call them so that the players around you know which direction to focus their fire. Proper use: If an enemy or a tracer is spotted in a specific direction, that bearing needs to be shared over local voice chat. "Enemy spotted 136 on the hill" will inform the players next to you to turn to their 136 bearing and start firing. Improper use: An enemy vehicle is spotted on the roadway running eastward at a high rate of speed and you do not plan on engaging because of distance, you inform your local vicinity of this and no action is taken. Squad: Squad chat is for when you are too far away from a member of your squad that you NEED to be in contact with. Bearings should never be called out over squad comms if you are aiming for quick and effective communication. Instead, try using a landmark and orient the enemy's position based off of that landmark. Proper use (enemy location): If an enemy is spotted running NORTH OF the BLUE HOUSE, this can be called over squad radio as "One enemy running NORTH OF the BLUE HOUSE across the road". This will help your entire squad orient themselves to the BLUE HOUSE and prepare to neutralize the threat. It may also inform your teammate who IS north of the blue house to turn around when he realizes "Oh shit I just LEFT the blue house". Another use is "enemy TECHNICAL entering from the NORTH". Improper use: Calling bearings over this channel is a no-no. You must remember that your bearing is based off of YOUR location on the map, and that another squad member's bearing could be completely different from yours. Calling out the BLUE HOUSE location as "247 from me" would require every squad member to look at your position, figure out the relevant bearing, and adjust to that bearing from where they are. Try to imagine doing that in game when you're 200m from your teammate... Go ahead I'll wait. SL Comms: I have noticed alot of struggling with SL communications and squad leaders having a hard time depicting what it is they need from other squads and what information must be shared immediately. For starters, you might find better luck using what we in the fire service call "Hey you, it's me". This is a basic form of getting someone's attention when you have relevant information to share with them (ex. Squad 3, this is 2 we need manpower at Malak Abad). Any instance of a defending squad beginning to lose a flag needs to be made apparent ASAP. It is not embarrassing to lose a defend flag and ask for help, so humble yourself and help your team be victorious and call for backup early. Once you get them coming, you can turn them away once you have the situation under control. Information that SHOULD be relayed: We are losing (Flag name) and need help. We are capturing (Flag name). We are losing our FOB in (Grid Coord). We are placing a FOB in (Grid Coord). We are sending help to (Flag name) via BTR. We will attack (Flag name). We will defend (Flag name). Information that should NOT be relayed via SL comms: "Hey There's a guy over here on me". "Utter silence and no microphone activity". "Squad 3 what the **** are you doing over there". Thanks for reading this text guide on communications, if it gets the right amount of feedback and positivity I will proceed with a more in depth video/picture guide pertaining to these aspects of communication as well as a few more. Thanks again and remember... Save the cheerleader, save the world.
  15. Hello. I just rented a server. This will be mainly Nordic and Englishspeaking people on. There is only one problem, the server sends messages in German (as shown in the picture top left). Where in the cfg do i fix this? [NVIK] DanieleN
  16. Hello fresh Squad players and welcome to the community! To start this out, please remember that Squad is in its Alpha stage still, which means all content is subject to change and issues/bugs/glitches may happen. So the best tip I can give you is to have patience - both inside the game itself and outside of it. To start with a disclaimer, this is not an official guide / post / anything, I’m just a random drunkard trying to ease the pain of new players coming in to a game with a relatively steep learning curve. Squad is a great game. But what keeps us regulars coming back to it and loving it so much are the players in it - the community. It is indisputably the best aspect of the game and a great team, a great Squad Leader even can make even a losing fight enjoyable. So please remember that there are A LOT of new players playing this weekend and the level of gameplay can be very varied as everyone's trying their best to learn the ropes. There is going to be a small army of experienced players playing as Squad Leaders to help keep the gameplay fluid and as close to normal level as possible, so give those guys some credit and try to be a good squad member - you're most likely in good hands with a Squad Leader that is brandishing some sort of [Clan Tags] but there are naturally plenty of other great players & leaders that are not with any specific group. If you find yourself in a good squad, enjoy the moment and feel free to ask any questions you have when the situation isn’t too hectic, people are keen to help. It’s common for squads made of complete strangers to “click” and keep playing for multiple rounds in a row, seek for those opportunities and you’re going to have a good time. WHAT IS SQUAD? At its best: A deeply strategic and immersive teamwork focused experience that creates memorable moments and is thoroughly enjoyable through a whole one to two hour match. At its worst: A shitshow of a complicated team deathmatch with no strategy or team play to be seen and where the points don’t matter. What creates the difference between the two? You (andtheother79dudes) GAMEPLAY TIPS Loading screen image with all the controls etc. SPAWNING There are 3 ways to spawn in Squad, Main Spawn, FOB and Rally Point. 2 latter ones are placed by the players. This means some players need to sort them out while others get straight to the fight. This might mean you have to sometimes wait a few minutes before you’re needed to spawn at the start of the round so please listen to your Squad Leader before you spawn in at Main. **Don’t spawn at round start unless asked to** - This is a purely logistic issue/choice from the Squad Leaders on how many vehicles they want to use. Some simply won’t have a place to sit. Be patient, you’ll get to the fight sooner or later. PROTIP: Rally Points are squad specific spawns with 10 spawns until it runs out. Try to always leave the last spawn for your Squad leader so he can place a new one! DYING Squad has quite long spawn timers to reward kills and decrease the clown-car effect of spawning, making each player’s life more valuable than in other games. You should **ALWAYS** stay in the downed state from 30 seconds to a minute because you won’t be able to spawn any quicker anyway and that gives your medics a chance to pick you up and save that precious ticket. SPOTTING ENEMIES It can be extremely hard to pinpoint enemies in your first games as you have no idea where they’re coming from so listen carefully to your squad calling them out and possibly them being marked on the map. Remember that the map markers for enemies are placed manually by Squad Leaders and are not 100% accurate. To spot them yourself, think of a logical way they should be coming from and stop for a while and observe, any movement is easier to pick up when you’re standing still yourself. Getting this right takes time and patience, don’t be frustrated if you get the feeling that the “trees are shooting you”. Use your compass at the bottom of the screen to call the enemy locations with directions like “Enemy infantry North West, 200 meters (estimation), multiple”. VEHICLES In Squad vehicles are extremely important to the outcome of the fight. Each vehicle has a ticket cost associated with them that your team loses upon losing the vehicle. For any of the bigger vehicles, APCs and Humvees etc. the cost is very high so you should treat them with respect and try to keep them safe at all times and only engage when you think you have the advantage. They are not tanks and driving one into a town with enemies will lead into its swift destruction. Each vehicle has to be claimed by a Squad Leader to be used by their squad either by the Squad Leader entering the vehicle or remotely by having 2 squad members next to the vehicle and the Squad Leader claiming it from his radial menu. Protip: E to start the engine WHAT ****ING TICKETS? Tickets are the way the winner of a match is determined in Squad, typically both teams start with 500 tickets in AAS mode and the one to run out first loses. Each player “life” is worth 1 ticket, Vehicles anywhere between 2 to 35 tickets depending on the vehicle. FOBs (the big spawn points) are worth 20 tickets. The Objectives have a varying cost on them as well depending on the map layer. Capturing a neutral flag doesn’t cost the enemy tickets but taking one that the enemy is controlling decreases the enemy tickets and even gives some back to your team. Controlling the majority of flags on the map also makes the enemy team “bleed” tickets = lose tickets over time. TEAMKILLING Teamkilling is heavily frowned upon by the community and intentional TKs can and will get you banned from many servers. Accidents happen and it’s normal to occasionally mistake a friend to a foe – just remember to apologize and it’s usually fine! It's an intense game, tempers will rise, but try to find a way to solve the situation that is not TKing anyone. The playerbase is very mature compared to other shooter games, unbelievable but true, you can actually talk to people usually. TKing – Don’t do it. Trust me on this. TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS / HOW TO FIX ERRORS Squad is an Early Access game in its Alpha stage. Sometimes things go wrong. Here are the basic tips to help solve a majority of issues. It’s impossible to say what will fix what as every system is unique and an untold amount of things can go wrong, but these should help. If issues persist, seek proper Support either on the official forums or Discord (links at the bottom). Clearing the Cache –This is your #1 solution to all Squad related problems, launch the game, go to Settings – Game Settings and click the “Clear Cached Data” and restart your game. This is especially true for returning players who have had a previous version of Squad installed at some point. Verify integrity of files in Steam – In Steam library right click on Squad – Properties – Local Files – Verify Integrity of Game files. Restart Steam. Turn off all skins in the in game settings (you might not have skins, they were a limited thing and a little broken atm and cause issues) Have you tried turning it off and on again? Restart your computer. I HAVEN’T PLAYED THE GAME BEFORE - SHOULD I SQUADLEAD? Short answer & personal opinion: No. If you create a Squad that makes you the Squad Leader and there are certain expectations of you as a player in that role. It’s not like other games *cough battlefield* where it’s just a title. Here it actually has a meaning and you’ve got some responsibilities. You're essentially one of 4-5 Squad Leaders in the team and together you are the driving force and the strategic hive mind guiding your team. This requires some experience in the game so please DO NOT CREATE A SQUAD = BECOME A SQUADLEADER IF YOU'RE PLAYING YOUR VERY FIRST GAMES. I only say that for the benefit of everyone in the game, even if you believe you're Patton reborn, at least observe a more experienced Squad Leader for a few rounds before trying it out yourself. No one is perfect in their first game and it can be very stressful / demanding so you need a certain attitude going into it. If you're interested in trying it out anyhow, check out some of the SquadLeading guides to get a few tips on it. Nothing is stopping you from doing it in your first game but I can guarantee you that you and your teammates will have a better experience if you try to grasp the basics first and when you feel fully in control you can drop yourself in the deep end and try out SL:ing! LIFE SKILLS 101 BY HERHI A couple situations you might find yourself in and my personal opinion on how to fix the situation: "My squad isn't communicating" Any number of reasons might cause this, you might all be new, people might not have mics, the Squad Leader might not know he is the Squad Leader. Try asking politely if you have a plan or what’s going on and people might wake up. If nothing else, the Squad Leader should always be able to communicate and be the one talking a lot. There are differences in how much players want to micromanage as SLs, but some standard of communication is to be expected. Otherwise, leave the Squad and check out another one. If the same repeats, considering switching to another server as communication is crucial to both the gameplay and enjoyment of the game. "No one has made a squad and the game is about to start" Just keep waiting, someone will eventually gather the courage to do it. DO NOT create a squad on your own if you don’t plan on being the Squad Leader and give the role to someone else who joined the squad. This is extremely shitty and causes unnecessary hassle. Have I mentioned patience? "I don't know where I should spawn" Ask. "I was kicked out of a squad" The SL can kick anyone they want whenever they want. Maybe you did something wrong and he didn’t bother to explain it, maybe your microphone wasn’t on and he thought you couldn’t communicate, maybe he made room for a friend / clanmate. Don’t worry about it, just hop into another one. Rarely is it a personal vendetta against you. “My Squad Leader seems to be intoxicated” Good. He will lead you into great adventure. “My Squad Leader is an asshole” Is he really? Or is he telling you what to do because that’s what he is meant to do. If he actually is an asshole, just leave the squad and join another one, no need to make a scene. “I was kicked / banned from a server – all the moderators are power hungry assholes” No they are not. All good Squad servers are run by communities and usually only trusted members have moderator rights on a server. They are there to make the game more enjoyable for everyone on the server – usually at the cost of their own enjoyment. Believe me, they would rather be playing the game rather than hunt evidence of disruptive behavior. If you feel your kick / ban was unjustified, almost all servers / communities have their own Discord channels where you can bring it up. Remember to be polite, it could’ve been an honest mistake of someone’s fat fingers. TL;DR Patience is key. The community is what makes the game great - don't be an *** and you won't be treated like one. ENJOY THE FREE WEEKEND MADNESS! This was supposed to be a brief guide but there's so much to talk about that I'm surprised if anyone read this far. There is A LOT of stuff I've left out and is out there for you to learn on your own. 17. Screen Shot

I just wanted to know if there's a way too take screen shots in game?
  18. Alright everyone, I need your help. I have decided to make a squad cinematic trailer that I hope turns out to be truly emotional, beautiful, and EPIC! I am going to need to make a few of these types of threads down the road to share progress and everything, but I'm at the beginning, so I need to start with the basics: First: I need a title suggestion for the trailer (between 1 and 4 words). I already have the soundtrack that I plan to use as I have already imagined most of what it's going to look like in my brain. Second: I need tips. If you have made videos before (or none at all), I am open to advice and tips. \ Thirdly: I need clips. Any clips that you have that are no more than 10 seconds long. (If you have a long video that you would like me to look at to dissect certain parts from the video, go ahead and post it. Just don't post a 1 hour video, because I'm not going to get around to watching it.) Even if you have low pc specs, I can still use the clips for brainstorming and for possible re-creation of the same thing on a higher end pc (Mine isn't amazing, but it's pretty decent) I think that is about all I wanted to say for now. Hopefully this gets some attention because I could really use some advice and lots of clips. Oh, and a title. I need that too. FeatherSton3 Out.
  19. Hello, my game disconnects me every time I join a server. Server loads, map shows up and I am being kicked out in 5 seconds or earlier. Every server I try, this happens. Only time it didnt happen is with empty servers. This started happening since 9.6. update. My specs are: CPU: Intel i5 3350P MOBO: MSI B75MA-P45 (MS-7798) RAM: 2x Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB DDR3 1600 GPU: AMD Sapphire HD7850 2GB DDR5 Windows 10 Here is the latest crash log info (deleted logs, loaded game, joined server, got disconnected, uploaded new log): Log: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=74741596032972596365 Crash report: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=16668588726040384339 Thank you for any kind of help. Edit: I tried reinstalling the game, deleting cache in steam, verifying files in steam, reinstalling EAC, reinstalling GPU drivers but no luck.
  20. My system is having a lot of trouble running squad, but neither my CPUs or GPU average above 50% usage. My game chugs along at 8-15 fps while the system uses less than half of it's full potential. I tried for hours to find a fix, but nothing I tried helped, after multiple restarts and even installing the game on a different HDD. I eventually gave up and started planning to upgrade my GPU, however I found youtube videos of players with GTX 760s running the game at ~40 fps. My system is a bit unique, being a dual xeon build, but no other games seem to have any issues, including bf4, PUBG, and other well-optimized AAA games. Disabling one of the CPUs made zero difference in performance. Specs below: Dual Quad Core Xeon E5430 CPUs at 2.66 Ghz for 8 cores total MSI Twin Frozr GTX 760 16 gb DDR2 registered server ram at 667Mhz 750 watt corsair psu
  21. Specs: GPU: AMD Radeon R9 270 3GB Memory: 8GB DDR3 Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 CPU: AMD FX-8350 Hello! I am currently experiencing an issue in which it crashes immediately upon either loading into a servers game or loading into the Training Range. This is for me easily Reproducible by simply loading into the game itself again. I have verified game integrity, re-installed, deleted my cache, and explored a few other options such as drivers, windows updates and not changing my settings after re-installation. I do not have any idea if this was a problem before/after the latest patch, as I installed it last night as well as reinstalled it because of this on-going issue. If I need to attach anything please let me know to do so. Thank you for your time!

  23. Hello all, I'm at my wits end with this one. I get disconnected from servers with "Auth Ticket Cancelled by User" after 30mins - 3h~ of gameplay. Happens on all servers. Internet does not lose connection. Things I have tried; - Restarting PC / Steam - Restarting router - Verifying Integrity of Game Cache for Squad - Updating BIOS / drivers - Turning off firewall - Deleting Steam clientregistry.blob file and Config folder - Reinstalling Squad - Deleting appdata files. Occasionally, I will be able to play for 4+ hours without issue, but most of the time I get disconnected before a full round can complete. Usually seems to happen right after I spend 5 minutes doing an epic flank, placing down 3 mines in perfect spots, and then sneaking up behind an entire squad. I really like this game, but I'm unable to have much fun with these constant disconnects. Has anyone else here experienced this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 24. SA Servers

Hi, I just recently bought squad on steam during the summer sale. However, I notice there are no African servers and the lowest ping I can get is about 250. I am writing on the forum to ask for any info regarding this issue. I come from South Africa and I would like to know if the ping will affect my gameplay and if there is any plan for the future, to release at least one SA(South African) server or African server? I know for a fact that there is quite a big squad community in SA that would highly appreciate a server and low ping. Would anyone with information regarding this issue please post a response. It would be most appreciated.
  25. Hello I am a console gamer and I have recently noticed that consoles don't have ANY realistic war games. And I am looking to buy a computer solely to play Squad. Now, Me being the noob I am I know nothing about gaming computers and laptops and I'm looking for advice on whether or not there is a laptop/desktop that has and or exceeds Squads system requirements that is READY TO GO without having to buy a certain graphics card or something along those lines. Ill reiterate once more I'm a noob and I don't know jack shit about building a PC. If the Squad community can help me so I can get into the battle ASAP that would be awesome. Thanks!
