Forum Rules 07/06/2016Introduction The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party. Section I: Posting Rules §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users. §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with. §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time. §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics, etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal. §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest. §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs. §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense. §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
§9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
§10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge. §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings. §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed. Section II: Reporting & Moderation §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments. §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules. §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly. §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

We are a casual Russian special forces group for squad that is looking to have a squad equivalent of members in a mil-sim environment. Please fill out this small form if you are interested, it will take 2-5 minutes to fill out. https://goo.gl/forms/a8C8RyNrQyATipmt2 (I know this is a small post but i'm really not going to put 20 hours of effort into clan forum post )
I. Situation We currently have our own server running on extremely fast and reliable hardware as well as unregulated bandwidth. (No Lag) The server is currently unlicensed by OTW. We have a steady base of about six core players and others who are crossed joined with other friendly gaming clans (mostly the younger group.) We simply lack the community now to become a fully licensed server for Squad. Because of this we also miss out on the higher echelon level of team based game play (Platoon Commander) II. Mission To recruit a healthy base of players with military/mislim experience. (Quality over quantity.) To Recruit players who enjoy being part of a mature, respectful community so we can help grow over a period of time. (We play other games too) To create an environment where players feel comfortable with other members. Video games are meant to be fun. There will never be any “Mandatory show time or a submitting Leave of Absence” if you have real life events going on. Our intention is to make this not feel like a second job. We want to make a community where people become friends and feel it worth the investment of their time. III. Intent Gather at least five or six people who want to be part of a community and see it develop. Agree on a final product for our website. Everyone will have a role in its creation and how it works and looks. Apply for our server license key and become official. Once accepted, begin recruitment on a larger scale while still maintaining the quality over quantity mindset. Agree on a name/logo. IV. Logistics For those new members, you are now part of a small close-knit community with large aspirations. Everyone has a say in what happens, freedom to suggest alternatives, and freedom to disagree. We understand this will not all be completed in one night. Some parts will move faster than expected. Some parts will regress and fail at the worst possible time. This is the nature of building gaming communities. We need everyone to pitch in and help this grow. This will not be “My Clan/Community/Whatever” this will be Ours. V. Command Steam ID: Squakems Steam ID: RollerTheJanissary Steam ID: ~ZK~ Send any of us a friend request to gather more information. I also encourage you to join our Teamspeak ts3.geezersquad.net Web site Link www.geezersquad.net (Still under construction)
BrossParavoss posted a topic in Teams & ClansВступление.
Hello everyone, We are currently looking for new members to play Squad. TCR/2ID has a long history of doing 'Tactical' play in the FPS genre. We have had a presence as far back as Quake 1 and as recently as BF4. We are a small tight knit group of friend who enjoys Tactical play, close friends, hanging out on TeamSpeak and playing a few maps. We are semi serious, tho we do not have a hard set or rigid membership structure. We believe everyone in the group has a voice and in general decisions are made by majority rule. We are generally US based, many of us have former military experience. We have several members from other countries. We also do a considerable amount of RPG gaming as well, having ties in the VTT gaming spheres.. On the RPG side, we have been around since the days of BBS systems (FIDONET) prior to there being a public Internet. If this sounds interesting to you, please stop by and say hello.. We can be found on the web on several social Media sites and our own site at; Website TCR Games Facebook Facebook Page FaceBook Group Group Forums (Google+, Twitter and several others; see website for details)
SQUAD Nederland [SQUAD.NL]
I am glad that Squad is integrated with Steam, however can we expect our friends to be able to use steam to follow us into a server anytime soon. Currently match making with a group is cumbersome, everyone has to find the same server out of a large list in order to play together. Many games that are integrated into Steam allow you to take advantage of the ability to: 1) Invite friends to your server 2) Have friends join you by clicking the join game button on the the Steam chat window 3) Create a party, which allows your group to enter a server at the same time, once the head of party finds a server. Squad is a great place for picking up games with people you don't know. However, it is best when you are playing with that group of friends you do know. I just hope the Devs improve Squads match making/joining features in the future so it becomes easier for Groups to play together.

Just a quick thought: There seems to be a request from a lot of players for the implementation and development of customisation. Realistically, it would deter from realism if things like weapon skins and vast player customisation options were implemented. However, a thought is that there could be a feature of Insignia and Patches. My ideas are as follows: - Specific Arm, Helmet or Torso Patches can be unlocked through achievements, challenges and awards. (This could range from Specific Units of each team, like VDV and different US Infantry Divisions) - Each time a new squad is formed on a team, they are randomly assigned a squad patch, so their in-game player model will have a patch depending on what squad they have joined. This patches could be those of real life divisions and forces. - Players could create their own small arm patches, in a way to encourage inter-squad competitiveness. Let me know what you think and feel free to share your own ideas and opinions. ~TSO

Commanding a team can be hectic business. Many times, parts of a team get left in the cold while the commander focuses on bits and pieces of interest. A team can also get severely biased towards a part of the team (tanks, CAS, etc.) while the rest has no idea what it should be doing. A commander should be able to delegate his command to lieutenants whose function is to manage and enforce team-sector cohesion, logistics, strategy, and communication. The commander can invite or receive requests from players to join his command group. Commanders can resign XOs if thing go south (bad). Unanimous vote among XOs can successfully force the CO to resign. The command group is made up of the CO as head and XOs assigned to different tasks or sectors. The commander can assign squads to lieutenants based on the squads' location, role, or other specification as necessary. i.e. Each XOs command is called a sector. Each sector can be named. Commanders can transfer squads to other XOs when plans change. Squads would generally receive orders from their XO, whether they are passed down from the commander or not. The XO would be able to communicate directly to the commander, or to other members of the command group. XOs are able to give commands as a commander can, but are restricted to the squads in their sectors. There may, may not, or in restricted numbers, be UAVs available for XOs. The maximum number of XOs is four. The chain of command would be: COFull command access Head of Command Group and Team Comms to Command Group and Squads XO Intra-sector command access Member of Command Group Head of Sector Comms to Command Group and Sector squads SL Intra-squad command access Member of Sector Head of squad Comms to XO, Sector, & Squad FTL Intra-fireteam command access Member of squad Head of fireteam Comms to SL, FTLs, & fireteam SM No command access Member of fireteam Steward of asset/kit Comms to FTL, fireteam
