      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof) etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
        §10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   Section II: Forum Signatures   §1 Signature Dimensions
To avoid clutter, please make sure your signature (if you choose to have one) does not exceed the following size limit: 350x150 pixels. Your signature may consist of images, user bars and text elements, as long as the total size does not exceed 550 x 200 pixels. A small tolerance will be given, but any signature larger than the limit may at any time be deleted without prior warning. If you are not sure whether your signature is acceptable, please PM a moderator.   §2 Signature Content
All rules of section 1 fully apply to your signature. We will remove signatures or parts of signatures without notice if they violate the forum rules, and infractions may be given.   §3 Animated Signatures
Please refrain from using animated .gifs as signatures, they distract and clutter the forum.   Section III: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  10. Shout out your Sound-Cards if you carry one! My question is what is the best sound card do you believe best suits SQUAD Gaming! I personally carry ASUS DGX and works Great with the game but the DX from what I learned threw ASUS tech support is that it increases my gaming by 10-25% in system performance! Do you use one or do you use USB? If you carry USB does having one better support your computer for gaming? for those Sound Card Carrying Users? Do you Use Creative?
  11. Hey guys it's that time again. Kicking off Round 5 we had the first of two inter-clan matches seeing [ULD] L.A.A. going up against [ULD] F.A.G. on Logar Skirmish with both [ULD] teams playing a solid game of trying to outmaneuver the other team to break the strong stalemate that was happening between North and South central. There were quite a few tense moments as each sides fire teams broke through some strong defenses! Game 1 saw the game going to [ULD] F.A.G by 88 tickets causing both teams to play a bit more aggressive in their styles with barricades being built and the such in Game 2 by the [ULD] L.A.A. guys. From this, Match 2 developed into a war of attrition and wits for both teams, but unfortunately for [ULD] L.A.A., the [ULD] F.A.G. guys came out on top by 105 tickets. As a side note for this game, I was joined Spono (Senior Community Admin) and FilthyCrab ([ULD] clan leader) as commentators and Filthy provided alot of insight and feedback about his clan's performance, strategies and ideas throughout the game. It was a pleasure to have you join us Filthy! The next inter-clan match in this round saw the two [N/A] teams, [N/A] HASTP vs [N/A] SNAFU, playing on *gasp* a different map than Logar!!!!! This match was played on Sumari Skirmish. Now let me tell you some background about this match.. There was ALOT riding on this game, not only for bragging rights within the clan, but the two team captains, Madhouse and AussieSASRSniper had a long standing bet that whomever won this match would be treated to a meal at their local ribs joint, so as you can imagine both team captains were pushing their teams hard. The first game between the two teams saw some really intense and heavy fighting in this close quarters map, some interesting maneuvers and flanking going on, but all in all, an amazing match to watch! The first game of the [N/A] match went to [N/A] SNAFU by 45 tickets, much to the delight of Madhouse and dismay of AussieSASRSniper! This prompted a step up in tactics and gameplay on both sides, with the fighting becoming what can only be described as a war of attrition, with s.mouse (from the [N/A] HASTP team) running soe strong offensive tactics against the [N/A] SNAFU defensive team, while on the same hand the [N/A] SNAFU offensive fire team put alot of hard pressure on the [N/A] HASTP team. After a very well played match, [N/A] HASTP emerged victorious from the destruction but unfortunately not with enough of a ticket lead to compensate for the 45 ticket loss, meaning that the [N/A] SNAFU team won the game with 33 tickets! Looks like Madhouse is getting a free meal of ribs! Both games were streamed and commentated on by Spono and myself, so check it out as we have some fun banter and good dissection of the games! For the first game ([ULD] inter-clan game) we were joined by the [ULD] clan leader, FilthyCrab in Match 2. Check out both games at www.twitch.tv/darkbotawakens. For the final match in this round saw [ZSU] playing host to Log. In what has only been described to me as a well enjoyed match which I am sure was well played by both sides! Log came out victorious in this game in a well fought game. All in all, well done to all teams and I look forward to seeing what each of you bring next round! -Darkbot
  12. Kanium is a gaming organization that has been in existence since 2012. Since then we have played and succeeded in several games. From PlanetSide 2 to DayZ. Since the time of writing this, we have transitioned out of a quiet spiele and have decided to pick up Squad. Thus we are currently working on building an active roster that plays 1-3 organized sessions per week. As a group we put focus on organized teamplay and community. We also uphold a general laid back atmosphere outside games. But when playing competetive games we enter "serious mode" with the goal to better ourselves and perform at our best. We also expect the same from our members. We are not aiming to become a milsim unit that uses excessive amounts of "tactical fluff." But we do want to maintain a decent level of tactical gameplay while playing squad. We also do not believe in large amounts of “drill sessions” or other tedious forms of training. Instead you will learn as you play and In time you will see your own understanding of the game improve. Kanium Values Our group values are the defining facets of what makes our group as it is. Community: here are many places you can go to to play games and have fun. However, if you’re looking for something higher to tie it all together, that’s where our community comes into play. Activity: We aren’t in this to gather a roster of players who never play. If you join us, expect to see an active community that chops off the inactive fat on a regular basis. Teamwork: We want people that enjoy- and focus on working as a team. Teamwork means having the vision and the ability to work together towards a common goal. It is what allows us to direct individual accomplishments and make this the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results. But don’t mistake this for being easy. Playing well together is hard. Dedication: This is critical to Kanium to keep us effective and relevant. A dedicated group will always come out ahead in battles. It means we are always ready and willing to approach new and challenging methods. So long as our members stay dedicated, Kanium will always be relevant. Loyalty: Loyalty is what help makes the motivation among the members bigger, to achieve the goals of the group, thus increasing the chance we achieve those goals. I feel loyalty can be seen in the history of Kanium by the number of core members who stay or still follow us. Many are unable to find a similar bond or environment elsewhere. What we look for in recruits - Good sense of humor. - Eager to learn and grow as a player. - Teamwork-oriented mindset. - Honest and accountable for their actions. (Both good and bad) - Motivated and dedicated to making the group and our experiences the best they can be. You might have noticed “skill” does not appear on that list – skill is something that can be taught. But who you are as a person is far more important to us. We look for good people with good attitudes who can add real value to our community. But personalities are things we can't really change neither do we want to bother with that. You can't teach a rat how not to be a rat. Finally we only accept players 17 years or older and that play in the EU timezone. Kanium info: Website: http://www.Kanium.EU Application Board: http://www.kanium.eu/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=96 Teamspeak: teamspeak3.i3d.net:10077

  14. As much as I want to get a shiny new GTX 980Ti, I've decided to wait for the next generation. Maxwell cards have been great (besides the 970 snafu) and I've been a Nvidia user since I switched from a ATI 4850. Anyways, is anyone else excited for Pascal? It seems like we finally get a die shrink from 28nm to 16nm. Woot! http://www.fudzilla.com/news/graphics/38304-nvidia-pascal-gpu-has-17-billion-transistors
  15. I haven't had a lot of play time in over the last nearly 2 months. I've been busy, and when I could play I didn't have lots of time to go looking for people I know in the servers. It's easier to find people now because we can join on friends through Steam. Yay! It seems I've had tones of time in the day to pop on to the forums here and discuss the game but not a lot of time to play it. Last night I finally had some real free time and found DrBigMoney & DocEast online. Joined on Money and found they even had room in their squad. It was surely destined to be a good evening. Without going through a play by play my impression that who you play with and how you (and they) play is the primary factor in how enjoyable Squad is was yet again confirmed. It isn't about features, or game modes, or animations... The game is transparent in a way. It falls away and suddenly you aren't playing Squad you're just playing with a group of friends. Let that sink in if you will. I've had moments, even days, like that in other games when the situation was just right and the group of people were just right... but this is normal in Squad. Last night we didn't have the tightest ship, and there were moments when the only way I knew I would soon be running East was because Doc had just ordered us to run West. hehehehe but we worked together and each person did their job and I stopped thinking about how the other people were doing their job and I just did mine. For most of the time I was there I also had another excellent medic; Z-Trooper. For a while I kept crossing paths with him because I am not used to having a another medic that is so on the ball. I've played with a bunch of great medics (Parabellum I'm thinking of you) but normally they are hard to find. It was great. I wasn't thinking about the game I was just doing stuff with friends and I don't know of another game that does this so well right now.
