      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

      Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
      Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics,  etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
      If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
      As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
      Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
      Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
      Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
      Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
      Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here. 
        §10 Images in posts
      When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
      .gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
      Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
      Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
      Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
      It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed.   Section II: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
      There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
      Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
      Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
      Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
      If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
      You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

Our respect and involvement with military veterans has influenced our first tournament to celebrate the men and women who have served their countries. We will be organizing, hosting and casting this charity event and we’re opening it up to every single member of the Squad community. Whether you’re a solo player, small group of friends or a large community, you’re all eligible to participate and land a spot on a team. Each team will represent a military charity of which you will fight for to bring home the largest portion of the donation pool to your charity team. Sign-up’s for the event will open July 4th but site registration will give us an idea on how many charities we need to reach out to so be sure to register if you’re interested! **If you’re interested in being a team captain, please reach out to the admin staff on discord ASAP so we can structure the leadership in advance.     Hallo, Ik wil graag een team oprichten met Nederlandse spelers die het leuk vinden om samen voor de fun een beetje te gamen op Squad. Bewust kies ik er niet voor om in clan verband te spelen omdat ik daar helaas geen tijd voor heb i.v.m werk, het is dus echt puur voor de fun en je niet telkens Engels hoeft te praten wat in de meeste servers wel gewoon verplicht is. Wat me wel leuk lijkt is om eventueel ooit een teamspeak servertje op te zetten en iets met een site, maar dat zijn dingen die zijn leuk als je met meerdere mensen bent en is natuurlijk zeker geen MOET prive gaat bij iedereen natuurlijk altijd voor..... Wie er geintresseerd is moet natuurlijk wel over een headset beschikken en over goede team play. (Heb zelf alleen nog geen headset morgen pas weer is stuk) steam account: JeffersonNL

    Hey guys am pretty shure a lot of people have talked about this but am just wondering if there is a devoloper than can anser me this what will be the next optimization update becouse it really laks it i know i dont got the best pc and i know you guys are bissy and i know that alpha 8 was just on that but just wondering becouse compared to other games that side is pritty bad and i love this game good job guys and a tip if you guys can implement a compas inseted of the hud for more realism that would be good thanks and later guys.

  12. Welcome to the -LOST- team recruitment page. The first important detail is that -LOST- is a team, not a clan. We are all equals on this team, though we do have trainers and admins with special functions who take charge when it's required. The Team Leader is whoever is leading the squad in-game at the time. With 6.3 bringing new players to Squad, we are actively looking to recruit new TEAM members to add to the awesome people we have now. We are a relaxed mil-sim group. We train and use real life squad tactics, particularly US Marine's infantry tactics. Our head trainer, a US Marine and former trainer of new Marines as well as Iraqi security forces, has brought much to the table. And we use every bit of what we learned to become who we are as a team. We move, talk, act, look, and fight like a real life squad does in the real world. Many of our members have served in the armed services and enjoy vicariously maintaining that feeling. Don't let this scare you. Military service, while a plus, is not a requirement. Those who have not served still enjoy the teamwork, tactics and comradery that is found on the -LOST- team. Currently we are focused on Squad, as it is tailored to our training and style of combat. The more realistic a game, the less we need to adapt our skills in order to fit the game's unique dynamics.   17. Gamemode: Uprising

    (thanks to freezerGeezer for the background pic) "A hardcore tactical and strategical gamemode where teamwork and leadership is key" Overview This gamemode is a territorial and resource driven gamemode, with and unique faction setup. There is 2 main factions: - Bluefor, made up of government or peacekeeping forces - Insurgent cells, made up from rivaling villages, ideologies, fractions etc. The map is devided into Sections and controlzones, with the Blueforces being placed centre, with all the Insurgent cells surrounding them. Mission Destroy other factions, total territorial dominance. If time limit is reached, the faction with largest area of control wins. Factions - Bluefor: Better weapons, higher level of income, better assets, strongly protected spawn at prebuilt FOB/base - Insurgency: Similar to current insurgents, but more mobile with fast technicals and transport. Resources: - Resources are devided evenly between all the controlzones, with each insurgent team having the same ammount of income at round start. - The income points are used by the commander (bluefor) / cell leader (insurgents) to buy equipment for his soldiers, mainly vehicles, but also static emplacements like SPGs, MG nests, and bunkers. - Income is granted each 5 minuttes, and is based on how many zones your cell holds Tickets The ticketsystem will be familiar to that of insurgency, where the Bluefor team will have an finite ammount of tickets, while the insurgent cells will have an infinite ammount of tickets. The bluefor team must conserve their tickets, but will also be able to gain x ammount of tickets by taking out Cells completely. (read cell destruction). This way, there is a strong incentive for the bluefor to also go on the offensive. Income The factions will have 2 ways of getting more income, either by capturing enemy resource zones, or alternativly, kill or destroy enemy soldiers and assets. That way it will be more balanced towards the actuall performance of the soldiers. As an Cell that is being attacked by an bigger force, can aquire more income by setting up good defences and defeating enemies, even if they are down to very few resource zones, enableing them to quickly counterattack if they are not completely overrun and destroyed. Balance: The round starts with all players joining their respective faction/cell, The Insurgent cells are capped at 13 players in the start, with each cell containing 1 Cell leader and 12 cell members (example: two 6-men squads). Bluefor have 22 players to start with, but at at a disadvantage that they are surrounded and have no option to create alliances. Alliances: The insurgent forces have the option for cell leader to form alliances, this will cause the soldiers to see all alliance members nametags, but will also cause heavy spawn penalties if you TK other alliance members (to prevent griefing of other cells). You will have bigger penalties for TKing alliance cell members than your own cell members. Alliances can be created and broken by cell leaders, but can only be broken if said cell have all members out of the zones of the cell you are breaking the alliance with. Destruction of a cell - After a cell have lost all its zones of control, the cell is defeated, this will disband the unit and all members of the cell are free to join one of the other excisting cells, dispersed evenly to the remaining units, including bluefor. - Insurgents joining bluefor will be labeled as Collaborateur, and they will recieve weapons that is a mix between excisting insurgent weapons, and low-tech bluefor weapons. The Map: (Bluefor is missing their HQ zone, but its meant to be there) - Each Insurgent region is devided into 7 Controlzones: - 5 Resource zones These zones provide the cell with reinforcements points and can be captured like a normal AAS flag, providing the income of that zone to the cell, but only if its connected with a supplyline to the HQ zone (only friendly zones between cell HQ and the Resource zone. - 1 HQ zone This zone is where the cell leader have his reinforcements radio, he have to be next to the radio to be able to buy equipment and vehicles for his Cell. This Cell does not provide resources, but enables whoever cell that controls it to call in reinforcements, if they also control the adjacent reinforcement zone. - 1 Reinforcement zone This zone provides the only permanent spawnpoint for your Cell. It also provide a spawnpoint from where the vehicles that the cell leader buys spawns. This zone does not provide any resources. Gameplay Here we can see 2 Cells, Cell 1 and 6, marked in pink and green. Capture order - Zones can only be captured if your cell have a completely captured zone adjacent to it. To be able to capture HQ zones you will also have to destroy the radio that is in that zone, and to recapture it you will have to be in control of the zone and then place a new radio. Lets imagine Cell 1 (pink) is attacking Cell 6 (green), then they have to first capture the only zone they have adjacent, which is a resource zone that provides 5 income (solid pink arrow). This opens 3 new options of attack, where they can either go for one of the 2 next resource zones, or go straight for Cell 6s HQ, cutting of their possibility for heavy assets reinforcements. Weapon Caches Caches will be able to be placed by the squadleader of insurgent cells. but only if certain requirements are followed: - Only 1 cache per controlzone - Squadleader needs 2 team members nearby to place - Only the cell with control of the zone can place cache there - You cannot place cache if enemy cache is already present in said zone Caches will serve as both a permanent spawnpoint (as long as its not destroyed by enemies) and a rearm point from your forces. Caches will have to be refilled by ammounition transport (trucks or ammo-techies) that can be bought by the Cell leader from the reinforcements radio. Caches will be the only place for rearming for infantry, except from riflemen with ammo-bags. Caches will serve as one of 3 spawnpoints for the cell, The main spawn will be the reinforcements zone located in the rear of their region, The caches will serve as frontline spawnpoints, while rallypoints will serve as squad specific regrouping points, as these can be placed in enemy territory. The equivalent to Weapon caches for the Bluefor team will be patrol bases, which will serve as their forward outpost. Deployable assets Deployable assets will work independently compared to other gamemodes like AAS or INS. In Uprising the only thing you need to place Deployables™ is a squadleader with officer kit, within a controlzone that your forces control, and it has to be within x meters of a large supplycrate. These supplycrates can be transported to location by trucks bought by the Cell leader/commander of your forces, and reloaded at the repair/rearm station located in your teams Reinforcements zone. The types of assets that is avaliable for your cell/team will be dictated by your Cell leader/Commander as he have the power to buy upgrades/unlocks with his reinforcements points, to get access to upgraded weapons platforms, better protection assets and higher caliber deployables. This will enable the Cell leader/Commander to dictate what focus his cell/team should have, By either focusing on unlocking Offensive weaponry for his soldiers, or defensive structures to fortify his claimed territory. Please provide constructive feedback and build on the idea! ( i probably have missed something, but this is just the first layout of the gamemode)

ULD was set up to bring many fellow squad players together who enjoy a sense of teamwork and camaraderie in their gameplay. We have set up the clan to be flexible both in its in-game tactics and matches, and how it functions out of game with different events and community forums. Some members of the clan may prefer a high geared military experience, others a more casual meet up and muck around with mates night. We're looking to bring everyone together who want to enjoy squad to it's full potential without putting unnecessary restrictions on those who are just there to enjoy the game.   20. How about a permanent death game mode. No tickets, or at the very least 3-5 tickets per person. It's only a game mode. It would make it where medics are ultra important, cover and concealment is a must, stop lone wolfing, and just makes it more serious and fun. In real life there is no coming back, why not make one game mode that is the same. Hardcore game mode! If all possible, could make it have more can join like 150-200. Since when you die they are kicked out of server. I can see this being very popular, it's only one game mode that only adds to the game and gives another option. What do you all think?

This reading is for fun, for rest from a daily work, for get other thoughts and for squad leaders :) So we had first 24 hours behind and well Iam personally impressed how great its going. Great congratulations to dev team. During day There was flood of comments. Technical problem or issues. Just sitting in job and be there at forum was fun. I read how newcomers are great. And they are really they are. At night after some rounds with RedCoats I went to different server and check on my own eyes whats happening outside. It was fun and great. Newcomers really follow. They cooperate. They work fine. With just one condition. They need to have leader. No kidding even worst leader from PR or Squad is better right now then nothing. Even if you one is not regular leader just take lead and lead them. Each game has 3 phases. Init, fight, end. For each Squad leaders Second phase is key phase. You keep your squad together or they run out. I was witness of very interesting game. I lead guys in to the fight and they follow, hell they follow really well. They talked and cooperate. And regroup everything like that. And they was newbies. Its clear like day. During first phase others squad leaders tried keep talking and cooperate. Second phase end of story. After a while I recognise that other team doesnt have even one squad leader. They worked yes a little bit. Placed some FOB . But problem of their team was that they lost their second phase. Team broker after while after first contact. So I kept my guys together. We didn't hit any resistance at all ! We met with some yes but it was small groups like 2 - 3 guys. Most time separated. When I detailed instruct guys how suppress fire how flank how advance we won EACH firefight in few seconds. There was no intense firefight at all. All over the map. At the end we lost like a team by 4 tickets. But it doesn't matter at all. So after this i fall in bed and thought about it. Newcomers at this moment has no clue whats going on. They enjoy it ou yes really much. But they didn't see glorious of this game until they have proper leader who glue them together. So if there is no squad leader at server game is super boring for experienced player. I can again see building FOB at flags. Old good tactic :) I can see group of people direct walk from flag to flag and just few brave guys try decent flank. Its just beginning its sure. But we are in key point. If we want hold hight attitude we have to show it to them. If they got instructions and lead they do that perfectly. Better then vets players. But why ? Because they have no idea its obvious and clear to see. Well I math a little bit. During high populate spikes at PR we had 3 - 6 full servers. It means 4 full infantry squads at each side. Rest is armoury, air, support, artillery. It means 4 + 4 Squad Leaders at one server = 8 * 6 servers = 48 Squad leaders at all during session. Ussually best was at popular servers (HOG, CIA, PRTA ). that means 24 So math: (4 + 4) * 3 = 24 Squad leaders Right now. At squad.rock I see 17 full servers ! We are at this moment just infantry based. So math: (4 + 4) * 17 = 136 ! Thats enormous number. Iam optimistic Squad community has at this moment 30 squad leaders. Most of them are right now in job feeding their families :) We can be just happy that we don't have armoury and other toys in game. That we cant split squad to fire teams. If we just split to fire teams we will get 272 ! If we get in memory before month we was happy to fill One server. From these days some famous names came. At this moment we need at least 10x more :) But guys thats fun fun fun. No game all over the world can't give you this what Squad give. It will take a time but its pay for rising :) So keep in mind that new guys really need describe area. They need figure out how walk in group. Teach them not just game mechanism like right button shovel enemy fob. But even how take cover, how walk through corridors, how cover each other, where to look, give them sector for observations, give them other small objectives like area recon for couple, talk to them like never before. Vets expect automatically that if SL say we are going get this compound that 2 - 3 guys will stay outside and watch flanks or give support fire. But new guys don't know this. Vets know how to walk in different areas when sprint, when walk, when sneak. Keep in mind that most of new guys don't know that at this moment. Thy know sprint or camp. So lead theme really even with this and yeah even vets like this kind of leading :D So have a fun heads up stay strong enjoy a game and see you at field guys.

I feel that this can help bring the community together, give the devs an idea of what the players are experiencing on their games, and let us relate to each other with these events. Please, when posting a story, don't be so bland. Spice it up, gain the attention of the reader! So, here we go. I'll start with mine. Pre-Alpha Release. >Literally the first match ever on the pre release 20150925. >Servers are flooding with players trying to join. >Finally get on a server. >Join a squad, called "Catnip Herding" or something like that. >Start kicking down doors, and taking names. >Other squads are full of idiots. >We decide to take initiative and build a super fob ontop of this hill. >Stack sandbags on sandbags, add bunkers, you name it. >Enemy squads take a notice to our super fob. >They launch an assault. >We quickly demolish them. >Fortify it more, thinking we are doing pretty good for the first game. >Other squads are getting rekt. Like, they are full of idiots. >They are spread out more than a drunk white girl wanting pumpkin spice at 3am. >We notice a enemy squad on the adjacent hill, about 150-200 yards away. >We are about to unleash hot lead onto them, when we are attacked from the rear. >2 squads. 2 fucking squads I shit you not come down on us. >We start freaking the fuck out. Defending our fob with like 13 people. (9 in the squad, 4 that realized everybody else is retarded) >We make the squad that was on the adjacent hill retreat, they were in the open in a valley coming to us, so they had it coming. >Two squads that flanked us are spread out pretty good, so we are getting pop shots from 180 degrees. >We can't really see them, so we just are chucking smokes, nades, and shooting into the brush. >All of a sudden, it gets real quiet. >Like, too quiet. >We honestly thought we either killed them all or they ran away. >We decided to rearm and get ready to cap the next flag since the other squads are still huffing paint and eating glue. >Then, bam, they start attacking us again. I kneel behind some sandbags, and start firing my automatic rifle into the brush. >I notice impacts on the ground around me, and some into the sandbags. >I go into prone, but its too late. I am unconscious. >I am screaming for a medic, as the glorious blaze of gunfire erupts throughout our mini valley. >I wake back up, seeing my fellow men get holes like swiss motherfucking cheese. >Medic is telling me not to move. >I hear a distinct "pink" noise. It had a lot of bass to it. >I see a motherfucking M67 fragmentation grenade. >I notify everybody of a grenade. I knew it was to late. So I crawled ontop of it. >Boom. >I am at the glorious DEAD screen for the first time. And that, was my first life ever on Squad. Sorry for the long post, felt like sharing it.
