      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

      Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
      Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof) etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
      If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
      As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
      Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
      Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
      Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date.       Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread.       §9 Thread Capitalization
      Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.

      When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
      .gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
      Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
      Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
      Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
      It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   Section II: Forum Signatures   §1 Signature Dimensions
      To avoid clutter, please make sure your signature (if you choose to have one) does not exceed the following size limit: 350x150 pixels. Your signature may consist of images, user bars and text elements, as long as the total size does not exceed 550 x 200 pixels. A small tolerance will be given, but any signature larger than the limit may at any time be deleted without prior warning.       There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
      Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
      Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator.       Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
      If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
      You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason.   1. So I got Squad yesterday and started playing it but I've noticed some really unusual framerate problems that I didn't experience on the free weekend. Several maps ran great. Kokan and all the other afghan themed maps, not to mention the forested map (with the "Castle" objective) ran great, but with some slight stuttering and framerate drops when I looked around too quickly. However a lot of maps, almost all of the eastern European maps, run like ass. And I mean some seriously confusing turbo ass. Like 2 FPS ass. And this always occurs when I move my character's head around, so it seems to have something to do with loading new assets. I tried rolling back my 3D card driver and turned off SLi, but no beans. For reference my hardware stats are... Windows 8.1 Intel i5-4690k @ 3.5 GHz, 3501 Mhz, 4 cores 2 GeForce 970s on SLi 16 gigs of ram Is anyone else experiencing this? Am I alone? Why did this start now? Should I just wait for the next update?

Im writing this to hopefully get some feedback from a person who works on the dev team or knows about this. but when will the squad devs optimize squad to handle ryzen properly? i have a r7 1700 and an rx 580 and on full 70 player maps get inbetween 30 and 40 fps while people with intel get 45 to 60 fps all the time. This is an answer i need to know because even though i am getting "ok" performance it isnt what i should be getting. If someone who works as a dev or someone who knows legit info on this can tell me when they will start trying to optimize ryzen processors let me know. thank you
  3. After the recent update I've experienced a heavy drop in fps – from a stable 60+fps to 25 and below. At game start, everything is peachy, but a few minutes in and forward the fps just dives off a cliff. I tried running the Squad Troubleshooter V2, nuking the game cache both through game and OS, un- and re-installed GPU drivers (also a rollback), reinstalled the game twice on two separate hdds(maybe the first was broken right?), following performance guide setups etc. – Nothing helps, no matter the graphic settings and hardware setup the fps stay below 25! It is to be said that Squad has never crashed because of this, the FPS drop is just too severe to keep on playing! I've also not made any changes to my setup during the rollout of the 9.5 update, all my other games behaves like normal. I also had no problem running Squad before the update, stable 60fps and no crashes since I bought the game. BUT tried I enabling Full Texture Loading which bumps the fps to 45 without any too severe drops. Anyone else with fps problems since recent update that can verify? - Could this be a memory leak thing? I'm at work, so will post logs and monitor data when I get home, do a third play-through to verify and then submit an official bug report. Rig: • Core i7-4770k 3.5Ghz • MSI GTX 1070 Aero ITX 8GB OC • Corsair XMS3 - 16 GB DDR3 1600 / 2x 8GB sticks • Gigabyte - Z87-Wifi Mini ITX LGA1150 • Kingston SSDNow V300 120 GB

Hi I recently noticed while playing around with motar feature in Singelplayer on different maps that UE 4 version used in Squad or its implimentation seems to have a big Drawcall Bottleneck additionaly to the well known MP problems. Settings: All Epic NO SS,AA FHD E.G Chora ASS V2 via Adminchangemap ... gives around 70-90 FPS while GPU is at 50% usage,CPu has one core At 80% load on full clock rest 30-50% with some cores even downclocking, gamethreat is 6 ms while rest around 20ms, This observation is present through the whole mapline with a higher impact in heavy vegatation areas/maps. For me this is reproducable on my 3 Rigs so i doubt this is a PC specific Problem: Dual Xeon E5-2687W ; GTX 1060 ; 128 Gb Ram ;Win 7 I7 4790 ; GTX 1060; 16 Gb Ram ; Win 7 I7 5820K , GTX 1080 , 64 Gb Ram ; Win 7 & 10 Can other People reproduce this ? After searching UE Forums i found this : https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?49169-POM-material&p=624232&viewfull=1#post624232 Seems like with UE 4.14 ( version Squad is using) Materials have a bug that can lead to massive Performance decrease by causing high drawcalls in some cases.

My pc config: MOTHERBOARD: Placa-Mãe ASUS p/ AMD ATX AM3+ até 140 watts, 4 slots DDR3 CrossfireX, USB 3.0, header COM e TPM, SPDIF, Bios Flashback M5A97 R2.0 CPU: AMD FX 8300 OCTA CORE, Black Edition, Cache 16MB, 3.3GHz (4.2GHz Max Turbo) MEMORIA: 8 GB DDR3, 1600 MHz. GRAPHIC CARD: GTX 1050 TI, 5GB DDR5. -- FPS DROP: Well... at the starts of the round i have about 45-70 FPS, but when im in the middle of the battle it drops to 20-25 FPS... The temperature of CPU is about 40-55° C. The GPU is the same 30-65°C -- RESOLUTION PROBLEM MAP: MY MONITOR IS SONY 19". When i press enter: What im tried about the FPS DROPS: - I tried to set the graphics to low, i choose the resolutions and nothing changed... - FORMAT PC, reinstall all the game again and the same, starts to 60+ and drops to 20-25. What im tried about the "ENTER" menu/map: - Changed the resolutions but, nothing happens or changed... Please some help ?
  6. Is there a fix for this. The FPS DOESNT change when I turn down the settings I get the same exact fps at EPIC as HIGH as turning shadows off and foliage to med or low. I even tryed to lower it to 1080 instead of 1440 little change I have a I7 4790K 32GB Ram and TWO GTX MSI 970s.(Yes I know it doesn't support SLI) There is no reason I should have sub thirty fps. It goes from 70 down to 25 randomly and since its such a huge drop its makes my game lag like crazy. Sometimes its just bad fps and stays bad 20-45 range. Yes my nvidia settings are on performance and all correct power and control panel settings. It gets so bad I can't even play the game. With SLI on from inspector forced profile. Pre-Clean Driver Install on full server/large map Base game profile which doesn't support SLI. Still maxing my GPU for no FPS gains Pre-Clean Driver Install on full server/large map Post driver install on a not full server/smaller map. Post driver install on a not full server/smaller map. The problem is the 100% usage still remains even on smaller maps with less people. Here's a large map full server test result, again still forcing my GPU to 100% for no gains in FPS. 1920x1080 Post-Clean Driver Install on full server/large map 2560x1440 Post-Clean Driver Install on full server/large map More 1440 evidence ALL THESE BELOW WERE TAKEN FROM THE SAME SERVER SAME MATCH about halfway through it just started running horribly. Literally no change in switching of setting so I'm just confused at this point...

  8. Specs: i7-3960x, GTX 1060 6gb, 16 Gb RAM For some reason first few minutes I get around 100 to 120 fps in the beggining of the round then it drops down all the way to 30 or below. This 30 fps does not even increase when I put everything on Low, it stays the same as if I had everything on Epic/cinematic. This includes with and without V-Sync. Not only that but when I watch players play they seem to have such a clear image in their game but when I play (with the same settings as the player I checked) it looks blurred and not as sharp. I've tried multiple types of settings. I hope someone could take the time and help me with this issue. thank you!
  9. Just wondering if there is any intent to make the visuals that appear when the shadows setting is set to "medium" the minimum setting. Currently if you set your shadows to "low" it completely removes all forms of shadows and darkened lighting which is a horribly unfair advantage. I did not notice any framerate difference between using the two settings. I can't imagine most players would considering Squad is so CPU bound. TLDR: Low shadows equals no shadows. Remove the setting and make the minimum setting for shadows "medium".
  10. Hi guys, i need help. When i downloaded the game from Steam and played it it was ok, but not perfect as every other game that i installed. For example on CS:GO i have maximum fps, and on this game on Medium graphic performances i have 90 FPS. I know that i can have much more then 90, because its locked on 90 and it doesnt go down from 90. I see on this game maximum is 200 FPS like on Call of Duty. Also when i downloaded the game i dont have .ini files and i cant write in console MaxFps=200. On config i got only controller.vdf. Only .ini file that i found is DefaultEngine and only this is inside [CrashReportClient] CrashReportClientVersion=1.0 DataRouterUrl="" bAllowToBeContacted=true bSendLogFile=true CanSendWhenUIFailedToInitialize=true UIInitRetryCount=10 UIInitRetryInterval=2.0 CrashReportReceiverIP="http://crashreporter.joinsquad.com". I am playing on ROG Laptop and my graphic card is Nvidia GEFORCE GTX 980M , 16 GB RAM, Processor: i7 4720 HQ 2,60 GHz.
  11. PC Specs: GTX 970 4gb i5-6400 8gb ram 1tb HDD When Al Bashar was added I started having problems with my FPS. Normally when I used to be in a 60-70 player server I'd get around 50 FPS. Now when I join any game what-so ever on the lowest settings I get 10-13 fps, which is unplayable but this isn't the weird part is. Last night I decided that I'd try again but this time change my settings to a higher setting just got sh*ts & giggles and lo and behold on a 68 player server (Map was First Light, But it works ever other map as well.) I was getting 80-90 fps with my mediocre PC specs on epic settings. Sadly this wasn't by any means a complete fix, after about 20 minutes my FPS dropped down to ~60 and then plummeted back down to 10. The only way I managed to achieve higher than 10-15 fps was to change my settings to low and back to high/epic. One thing that I noticed is that when changing my settings to low my FPS would never go higher than 10-13 but higher settings would allow me to get higher FPS. I just wanted to make a post because as of this point Squad is completely unplayable for me as of right now and I really want to be able to play ;-; I also pointed out my specific issue and odd findings in hopes that the dev team could look into it and pull out something useful possibly further optimizing the game in future updates. TL;DR: -FPS after v9 update went down significantly around the release of Al Bashar -Messed around with settings one day and set my graphics from LOW to EPIC on a full 68 player server; this caused my FPS to increase from around ~13 to over 80 fps -The first map I discovered this on was Op First Light; but this worked on every other map I tried it on was well. -Was not a permanent fix and something happened (I do not know what, possibly physics/effects related?) made my FPS immediately plummet after about 20 minutes of no hiccups -One important note I took away from it is that my FPS could not manage to get past ~13 FPS when set on LOW settings; MEDIUM settings would raise my FPS higher, but any noticeable difference was when my settings were on HIGH/EPIC Thnx for reading :3
  12. I picked up squad again today after the last major update. Suddenly my FPS has dropped to around 25-32 with the FPS getting as low as 15 in fire fights. Before the update my FPS would be around 50 on full servers. Does anyone also have that problem, and what might be an explanation for this?

  14. 1. Ok, first of all i understand what an alpha is and the fact that everything is subject to change, but my question is: 2. I am a PR player, and checked out squad during the free weekend, loved the game except one major part of it: the performance. I understand that optimization is not a priority now, and i agree with that fact that devs should focus on features first and lastly on optimization, because that's the natural way game development should work. 3. So my question is: after optimization will finally be done, could i expect a stable 60 fps? That is the only question keeping me from making the purchase, i have no problem waiting for that optimization and supporting the devs with purchasing the game as of its current state. I just want to know if optimization will improve the performance to that extent. And i also know the fact that this is a very hard question to answer without being speculative, but an educated guess could help me a lot with making that decision. Specs: i5 4690 gtx 1060 8gb ram
  15. I need assistance with either finding a way to get more fps or instruction on over clocking my card! I have a intel core i7-6700k 4.00ghz 16GB ram 64bit operating system GTX Nvidia Geforce 950 gpu My chip is a GeForce GTX 950 My Monitor is a Dell ST2410(Digital) And in forest/woodland maps I get 30-40fps and in Desert maps I get 50-70fps but its really choppy! Any information, suggestions, and instructions for more fps or overclocking would be great! I use MSI afterburner but am willing to get any other software to help!

  17. Hello guys. I would like to upgrade my PC but I can go for one upgrade only. Which upgrade should I go for? I only care about having more fps in Squad. I play at 1080p. A CPU upgrade from i5 4690k to i7 7700k or a GPU upgrade from AMD R9 390 to GTX 1080? I wish I could do both hehe, but unfortunately thats not possible. Much appreciated!

  21. Hi guys, I have Squad since the pre-alpha, bough with a friend the developer helper edition or something like that. I have just started to play it now, cause the performance was terrible before, specially in AMD machines. I see that now performance is much better in AMD, but CPU utilization is not working as it should. First the game starts at 70-90FPS, (that's with around 65 players), but in the middle to the end of the round, FPS drops to around 38-45, if you check your GPU usage you can see that it was working fine when FPS was around 70-90, but when it drops, GPU utilization stays very inconsistent, with lots of drops and pikes. CPU utilization is around 40-60% for all the cores, so something is very wrong, and I'm pretty sure that Vulkan could solve it. Same thing happens for intel i5/i7 CPUs so that's not a CPU problem at all.
  22. I have a I76700 GTX950 16bg ram and can provide more specs if needed. So basically i should be able to run the game on ultra right? BUT I CANT! I run the game at about 30-40 fps! Please help! I play at 1920x1080 on all low settings on forest maps i get 30-48 and on desert maps i get 50 on my favorite settings which are txxa high effects medium shadows high/epic view distance medium/low foliage. I get 38-50 fps on jungle maps but mostly 30-40 on forest maps and on desert maps i get 53-67 it moves a lot lol. I tried doing the command -useallavaliblecores but that didn't help either. So if you can help me or tell me anymore commands that would be great!

Just bought Squad a couple of days ago and its really fun besides the game stuck around 30-40 FPS no matter what graphic settings, everything low vs everything high does not improve or reduce my FPS. I noticed too that my video card just sits there and does nothing when I watch it in MSI Afterburner, it ramps up in GPU usage and clock speed for every other game I play. Also it even under clocks at certain points which is weird. I tried to maxium power setting in the Nvidia control panel for global and the game itself settings with no improvement either. I should be able to max this game out with at least 100+ FPS right? here are my specs i7-6700 @ 4.0Ghz 16GB DDR4 RAM (2133Mhz) MSI Aero GeForce GTX 1080 OC'd - 2706Mhz Core Clock / 5557Mhz Memory Clock.

Hey there SQUAD devs and/or community management, i thought that i should give my feedback to the developers on this game, since i'm a backer and did put about 700hours into it, right after launch. I stopped playing Squad about 6 or more months ago because of the poor game performance and the lack of improvement in that area. Yesterday i came back to see how this game developed over the past months and if it's worth putting my everyday afternoon gaming time into it. Today i decided: It is not. Warning: This isn't supposed to be a hate thread and i also don't want to trigger the overly attached hardcode fan bunnies (is BLITZA still here?), but i feel like giving you - the devs - my opinion on the games current state. First off: i really like that vehicles are now in the game and i've also tested some of the new weapons. Both looked and worked better then expected (still having arma2 flashbacks, when i think about vehicles). Effects and sound design improved as well. However, all of this i couldn't really enjoy, because of the - still - poor performance of this game. Don't get me wrong, this is much better compared to the first few months after the game release, but it's still not even close to where a multiplayer FPS title should be - not even in alpha. I experienced FPS drops, i experienced low average FPS, i experienced mouse input lags and i experienced hit-reg desyncs. For me, as a longterm FPS fan, these are things which make a game fun and playable, or not fun and not playable to me. Squad went a long way already with its performance topic when i was still playing. But where are you guys now? It's over a year since release now and this game is still nothing to take really serious on the multiplayer FPS market. If you can't expect a first person shooter, where you rely on reflexes, aim, fast decision making (and alot more), to run at least on a stable frame rate of - let's say - 60 FPS, you did something wrong. If you can't expect the game to always register your fired bullets correctly and with (almost) no time lag, you did something wrong. If you can't expect the game to not let you randomly drop to 20 fps, even while you are in a building with almost no players on the server, you did something wrong. Squad is the most atmospheric shooter i've ever played. I've played tourney matches with my old team, i've played hundreds of public matches with new and veteran players and i was a active community member for a quite long time. I just really hope that you guys gonna start changing priorities in your product management team. Why would you add more performance hungry features, when even the base game is still not running how it is supposed to be? Yea, i know.. "That's how alphas work. First: add all features, then you improve performance". No! That's not how it works. You can't take this as an excuse for a whole year, while still working on new performance hungry features. Who will be left in the end? If this game will ever be "totally finished", with working FPS performance coming with the last update, i'm asking: who will be left? This early access phase IS your published content. It IS what the people are playing and talking about. It IS what players will stop recommend or give a bad rating. You guys already know that it's simply not possible with the current engine state, to give a stable performance, while still trying to reach your "100 vs 100 players on a map big like half the Iraq" vision. The questions are: will you guys still trying to push out content and hope that there will be some players left who don't care about a stable game performance in the end? Or will you guys change your vision and adjust your game goals to reach the standard of modern shooters game performance? Only you guys know, but i will not be around to find out. --- To whoever feels triggered right now (in the months i was active at the forums, there was alot of easily triggered people here): - Game was played on a i7 5820K, 32GB RAM, GeForce GTX 980Ti, Win10 - average FPS were 40. - Yes, i tried every in-game setting combination to try improve the performance - Yes, i could have turned my resolution down to 640x480 with everything on low, to get stable and high fps. I would have chosen this option if this game isn't about spotting players on long distances and long to med range fithing. - Yes, i know how to tweak stuff in the game config files to try to improve the performance (is it still possible to turn off shadows and foliage? ;-)) - Yes, i get it, "Squad isn't made for me" and "i am an ******". I "should really go play CoD or CS", since those are the only games where performance matters. - Yes, i know, you guys get "good FPS, game feels totally smooth to me" - even if most of you guys don't even know how to turn on a fps display. As an addition here: it still doesn't count when you get 60+ FPS ONCE at firing range, while looking at a wall. It only matters what your average FPS line is, while you are in a live game with the max possible - by the devs recommended - amount of players on a server. - Yes, i know. Netcode isn't something which matters in this game, since it's not about hitting moving targets, it's about just spraying bullets all around, so we can all feel like real life soldiers. --- Thanks for reading.
